    The Skandic and even moreso the Expedition are most popoular Utility sled in Ak by far.
    I think the 600 Ace is a perfect match for Wtrak...great job on videos!

    Really enjoy your videos. Last year I bought a 2022 Skandic 600 etec WT. the ace was not available. I love the machine wish there were more videos with that engine in the Skandic. I use it for ice fishing and getting into my camp in western Maine. Very mild winter so far here.

    Hello there was wondering did you take off the bottom linq plate under your box. Love the design of that box especially the chainsaw bracket. Am pricing out the box and chainsaw holder they want $800 kinda too cheap for that myself lol.

    • @whatido3021
      @whatido3021  2 года назад

      I did not remove the linq platform since the tail light is built into it, and I bolted the box to that platform. I prefer to build my own since you can build it the way you want for your needs, and for a fraction of the price.
      Thanks for watching Rick

    • @whatido3021
      @whatido3021  9 месяцев назад

      It is definitely tippy, expeditions are more stable but I find the tippyness to be an advantage especially when side hilling, or even in tight bush, easier to tilt it over and control it. Just my thoughts. Thanks for watching!

      Hey Buddy! Hope everything is awesome your way! My Skandic is awesome, I have the 600 4 stroke and it has been amazing but actually had enough snow our way to get it stuck this year. Bought a new trapline north of us about 45mins and the snow levels there really put it to the test.

      I watched your videos - you made me laugh a few times. One thing guys add here are track savers. They replace the bolts on your rear springs so when that cheesy plastic slide snaps un the cold the spring doesn't ruin your track and the other end doesn't ruin your cooler. Fire me your address and I will send you a set. Get JA to contact the misses.

    I do a lot of ice fishing. I’m looking for a good dependable machine. I keep being drawn to the Skandic. Just curious your thoughts?

    • @whatido3021
      @whatido3021  2 года назад +2

      These are very reliable machines although I try to sell and upgrade around 5000kms to avoid issues since these new machines are full of electronics and no back up starter on the 4 strokes, sure cars and trucks don't have a back up for starting them although they tend to be accessible when issues occur, snowmobiles not so much, if I were in a super remote area alone, and intended to keep it for a long time I would go with a Yamaha VK540 which are carbureted, have a recoil starter as a backup, and you can basically fix anything on them yourself. If any issues were to happen with the machine I have it might not be as easy to deal with. Not to discourage these 4 strokes since they are very reliable, incredibly fuel efficient, quiet and the power is amazing. A ski hill in the area has some with over 30 000kms and no issues with the engine so they are quite reliable. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    I have a 2021 900 Ace Skandic, and went to adjust the drive chain tensioner. I tightened the tensioner by hand, as per manual instructions. But then I went to the other side to check the free play in the secondary and discovered that there is quite a bit of play still. Unlike in my other machines where tightening the tensioner would get rid of most play in the secondary pulley. I am wondering if it has to do with the transmission in these skandics, and if it is normal. Did you check the chain tensioner on yours yet?

      I have checked the tension and adjusted as the manual says although I can't say that I've noticed the excessive play on the secondary, I will check it out out and get back to you. It is definitely different then my 2015.

      @sergey-c8c 2 года назад

      @@whatido3021 This is the play I am talking about: ruclips.net/video/qh5NVomQjj0/видео.html It seems way different than in other videos where they use seconday's play to determine chain tension. Like here: ruclips.net/video/7g7NOF7d6Yk/видео.html The only explanation that comes to mind is that gearbox might be doing that, since its not a direct drive in these machines.
