Despite the face issue and the aforementioned missing paint details, this is a great figure. Good review!
Thank you for watching!
I can't believe Hasbro gave the standard phase 2 clone a unique head but not Commander Cody.
@@chuckmann7127 Same, I agree
Woah, you already got it, really nice 👍
Yeah, got super lucky, since Walmart in Canada is super unreliable
Helmet looks a lil' goofy (and why does he not have a scar, like seriously) but otherwise: *LONG* overdue update!
Very excited for him and might actually try and get an extra one to leave in that snazzy card for a change
@@ThatGenericPyro There’s also rumored ROTS hardbacks for R2, Dooku, Kit Fisto, and 501st (by YakFace). So if you miss out on a second Cody, you have 4 more figures for that cardback
I have the original and just ordered this, honestly pretty disappointed in the paint apps and the lack of scar I’m a out of box collector but this might be my 2nd exception the only other SWBS I have in the box is the SWCW mace windu
@@thetakyonproject4881 Yeah, the cardback is just too good. I also have the 03 CW one, but Fordo. Though I’m disappointed as well, it’s still on the 2023 body with good proportions and great posing ability. Thank you for watching!
Love this figure one of my favorites ever with the helmet on but Jesus man they need that scar
@@jordansingh2388 agreed
Was the jetpack/backpack removable ?
@@commandercody7335 It looks like you can remove, but I’m kind of scared to try to remove in case I break (I know I have glue, but still…)
I've always loved removable helmets on action figures so that's a plus for me. I'd like them for the Stormtroopers too. They used to for some of the older 3 & 3/4" figs. They had generic faces and a black balaclava hood.
The orange looks more yellow to me apart from his helmet's sun visor.
Ali Express are selling 501st & 212th troopers with yhat stule helmet, though ai believe it's slightly smaller and has a clone head based on a Hot Toys one.
@@jonathanhampshire6856 I remember for the Saga Legends and 30th Anniversary, a lot of clones and stories had removable helmets. What worked was the heads were smaller sized so the helmets didn’t look so oversized. Even then, my 3.75 Phase 1 ARC troopers and my phase 2 Bly suffer from being chinners. That being said, I can understand why some like removable helmets over swappable heads.
In terms of the orange, I agree, it looks too yellow.
For the AliExpress/Veils, the clone head for Airborne troopers is a scaled down Sideshow head, yeah. Even then, it has problems.
Thank you for watching!
So confused how are so many people getting him in early mine is arriving in June?
@@imperialbricks4217 Canadian Walmart had him arriving in January originally before being delayed to February. I don’t know why the US or other countries didn’t get him around the same time. Hope you get yours in March, or sometime before June!
Gotta say...kind of prefer the original. I have him holding a Dooku hologram from the CW #15 Asajj figure but the idea is there.
@@vanlain1528 That’s a good substitute - I used to have that figure. In terms of the original, there are some elements that outweigh the new figure, so I understand your preference. Thank you for watching!
The lack of paint apps is pretty bad, less and less overtime it's so lazy when they're same price as when they did paint the back of helmets etc. The archive looks a lot better in my opinion articulation aside
@@alexiantwisty That’s totally fair. For me, the archive has those skeletal looking legs, and the antenna piece on the helmet going off to the side is funky. But I understand about the vibrant colors and especially about including all the paint details. Honestly, archive doesn’t look too bad overall, but fiddling with it for posing certainly is a chore. Thanks for watching!
Does it look like the orange on the helmet doesn’t match the body??
@@dude_az Good point! I’ve noticed that after I put out the video - the orange on the visor is move vibrant than the orange on the rest of the body.
Wooow, how do You get it too early?
@@alejandrorios5780 Walmart Canada. Since I live in Canada, we somehow got it early. I don’t know how, to be honest, but I’m certainly not complaining!
I love old clone body
Looks good
how did you get him so early?
@@colegriffin5811 Canada received it early. I’m just as surprised
I got mine yesterday in the mail from Walmart.
@ in the US?
@@colegriffin5811 video uploader and I are both in Canada
thats why i don't order the new one because of the face scar is not their, and some paint is missing, not accurate enough. i rather stick with the original one. and for articulation yes is better than the old one but you just gonna post him in standing position in the shelves. so not worth it to buy if you are not kind a diorama guy for scenery or for photography.
@@crixusfernandez2452 Totally fair
That face is inexcusable. They went through the effort to give him a removable helmet and then they don’t even bother adding one of his most iconic features that’s literally IN revenge of the sith??
@@seoul08 Exactly! I’m not sure as well. While I might customize the head by giving him the scar and proper haircut, we shouldn’t be the ones to modify something that was supposed to be a slam dunk.
I really hate to be that guy, but the no scar on his face is a very very heavy disappointment. Hopefully they'll either do a running change (unlikely) or do a re release with the proper adjustment. "We were THIS 🤏 close to greatness!"
I appreciate the review nonetheless man! Enjoy the figure!
@@balgomsantil As I said in the review, the face did bother me. I agree - it’s a very huge disappointment. It’s my biggest complaint with the figure. Thanks for watching!
Don’t “hate to be that guy.” Hasbro makes millions of dollars every year, you don’t owe them sympathy. They owe you accurate products and they consistently under deliver. You are correct to be “that guy,” we should all be “that guy.”
@seoul08 My intent is I don't want to be Mr Negative. You have a lot of folks that bash every single figure release and I try to look for the positives. Example being the new tvc anakin. Very large lack of scar, but with the knowledge of the 3 pack release, I'm unbothered and will buy 2 in a heartbeat. This cody, though, just a vanilla head kinda kills it for me. What's stopping me from just buying the archive?
I try to be positive about the figures because I honestly love the hobby and try to keep the joy in it as much as possible.
@ being negative about stuff like this is exactly how we show our passion for the hobby and the joy it brings us; lackluster products from corporations who can afford to make all of our hobby dreams come true but yet can’t even get basic details right is unacceptable, but it only is a problem to people like us who love the hobby and are hyper focused on the source material and knowledge of the medium. Don’t misconstrue being a Negative Nancy with being critical of the hand that improperly and inadequately “feeds” you.
@seoul08 well said. I agree, being critical is necessary at times. I personally see it everywhere on my feeds however, and I try to choose to avoid the negativity/band wagoning since I've got enough of it in my life as it is. I've unfortunately long since understood that Hasbro is allergic to making money (*cough cough* bad batch team *cough cough*) and try to hold on to whatever good I can get. Accountability is important, but I try not to bite too hard on the hand that feeds me lest they decide to go back to 5poa figures.
Im also not a bog fan of the shoulders
@@dadder1426 Like the o-ring system or the look/style of the shoulder pads?
figure looks great, i really hope they repaint it is a captain vaughn, would be a fantastic figure to get
@@TNC445 Would be a good reuse of the mold
