Awesome video! That bit about the last week is very helpful! I'll use that method this coming week. Also happy to find my last couple of weeks have been pretty close to what he listed volume and weight-wise which is reassuring since I'm walking fairly blind lol
I feel like people don't understand how important peaking for a meet is. An example of this was when I did a meet in October, about 4 weeks or so into a 9-week long training cycle that would end with a peaking phase. At that meet I totaled 1,344, not peaked. Then just 5-weeks later after training properly, and peaking properly, I totaled 1,432 in the same weight class. On your point about opening attempts I wholeheartedly agree. Crush them. Save the very hard lifts for your last attempt. That's where you go all out.
been subbed to garrett for a while now, glad to see him get the recognition he deserves on a bigger channel. great video as well, and good on ya brandon
Wanted to let you know - I used this template almost exactly as you described to peak for my first powerlifting meet this past Saturday. Happy to report that it couldn't have gone better. PR'd in all my lifts and went 9 for 9 on all attempts. Thanks again for the awesome content!
Excellent, I was actually hoping you were gonna put this info out. Just to let you know Mr. Blevins, you totally fixed my squat with the advice you gave me about squeezing your glutes at the top of the squat. I did that and accidentally keep them engaged all the way into the hole. Just felt amazing. So thanks for that and this video! God bless! Thanks to Mr Campbell also cause this guys deserves all kindz of subscriber gains lol.
Damn Blevins got A LOT of informative videos. Love the ones about powerlifting program. Subscribed for sure! Thanks a lot for sharing this! I really wish that channels like Blevins get more and more subs, because guys like him puts a lot of efforts and they're DAMN helpful for almost everyone!
Garrett Blevins Very true man, I'll definitely be looking into it thank you for the feedback! Checked out your channel by the way, you're a true beast! You're strength is so inspiring and motivating. Keep up the great work man, i'll be following you along your progress.
I wish I would've landed on this video when I was 3 weeks out. But it's okay, definitely using the last week tip for my powerlifting meet this Saturday. Thanks for sharing guys!
he is awesome! I have made a separate application in exel by his knowledge that he has given me! can not thank him enough! increased in all the lift in just 10v
Great video, thanks for this. After seeing your mustache I thought the only "peeking" you knew about was that done through unsuspecting people's bedroom windows.
Americans love their jargon. Basically you use your regular basic training to build a broad base of strength (sets of 5 or so), then as the competition approaches (say 4 weeks out), you increase the poundages so you can only do 3 reps. In the last couple of weeks you do doubles. It's basically 'focusing that broad base of strength from a 5 rep lift to a 1 rep lift, and it would be akin to sharpening a point on a stick. That's the principle though there are variants.
@@BasementBrandon The jargonised aspect of marketing is definitely an American thing. By analogy 'Psycho babble' originated in California not anywhere else.
Great advice. My question is in regards to the order of lifts for the peak. As it stands, it’s SBD (on their own days) for the over reaching week and the same order for the volume cut week. I’ve heard that the deadlift takes longer to recover from. Should this then be considered to have the sequence START the weeks with the DL as opposed to ENDING the weeks with it? Thanks for helping
To get more technique practice could you do 6 days a week with three of the days just the drop sets?(mon squat tue squat drop set wed bench thur bench drop set fri deadlift sat drop set)?
Brandon Campbell Diamond well i decided to sign up for a meet and am used to benching without having to have the heels on the ground and this federation requires it which makes it more difficult for me to get my knees under my hips and keep my butt on the bench
This probably won't get answered, but would you do a general increase in volume and fatigue up until these final two weeks - or would a slight taper/increase in intensity and slow drop of volume+accessories work better?
Excel spreadsheet gone? Also, may be a stupid question, but any accessory work after the main lifts during the three weeks, or no accessory and just squat bench deadlift?
I feel like this is a stupid question, but I just want check to confirm that it takes just 3 weeks to peak for a meet? Because quite a few articles promote 6 weeks or 10 weeks or maybe even more for peaking so am abit confused
I did this routine and it turned out the "overreaching" phase had half the weekly volume I was getting on Texas Method. Is that intentional? It felt more like a vacation to me. That being said I still use it, I just cut it short by at least a week
Awesome video! That bit about the last week is very helpful! I'll use that method this coming week. Also happy to find my last couple of weeks have been pretty close to what he listed volume and weight-wise which is reassuring since I'm walking fairly blind lol
Time for it to pay off this saturday
Awesome vid, perfect timing for me too! Thanks man

+Garrett Blevins What about any assistance movement in the peaking phase? (2 week out / 1 week out / comp week) ?
Sefiroz987 When I am that close to a meet I cut the assistance work out and spend more time on the comp lifts.
Blessings
Garrett Blevins I'm really thankful for your reply :)

I'd amend that to people who are interested in strength vs just the blanket "americans."

Interesting info, strong as heck!
Truly impressive.

I like to end the week with deadlifts as you'd be ending a competition with them. So getting a better feel for strength under fatigue is beneficial.
@@BasementBrandon Thanks for the response.
The best video ever thank you so much
Glad you liked it!
nice explanation and video man.
Yeah glad he made it.
We have a guest teacher yeaaa
Yup!
Do you skip accesories on the high intensity, high volu,me week? Can i do two squat workouts that week?
+Jonatan Olsén I don't see a point in adding in more TBH
+Brandon Campbell okay, so just the 3 main lifts for high intensity and high volume, 3 separate workouts for week one?
Damn you’ve changed a lot in 10 years
I'm not in this video 🤪
thanks Brandon very helpful brother!
sure thing!
Solid advice
Thanks for watching!
great video!!
Thanks!
To get more technique practice could you do 6 days a week with three of the days just the drop sets?(mon squat tue squat drop set wed bench thur bench drop set fri deadlift sat drop set)?
I don't think you need more practice at the end of a training cycle
Brandon Campbell Diamond well i decided to sign up for a meet and am used to benching without having to have the heels on the ground and this federation requires it which makes it more difficult for me to get my knees under my hips and keep my butt on the bench
what about meet commands? should we be practicing that before we start the 3 week peeking phase? good video!
Shikari If it's your first meet it might be a good idea.
Both spreadsheet links are down, any chance for a new link?
Hmm I'm not sure, you can try searching "juggernaut peaking program"
This probably won't get answered, but would you do a general increase in volume and fatigue up until these final two weeks - or would a slight taper/increase in intensity and slow drop of volume+accessories work better?
+SvupperZ I think part of it also depends on how the rest of your programming looks.
I wish my squat looked that fast at 90%! Dude is a beast.
lyn0002 Yeah def a strong dude!
Woah, didn't recognize him without the beard
strong use of pool cue
agreed
time to see what i can do, seems like i'm always 2 weeks out haha...
ha do it to it!
Garrett, quick question. Using this method would you suggest using your true 1RM for the % or a 95% training max? Thanks!
Good question
+Brandon Campbell Hey Brandon, I know this is a pretty old video but is there anyway you can get us the answer to the question? Thanks!
+vo Pham best bet is to go ask Garrett on his channel!
Excel spreadsheet gone? Also, may be a stupid question, but any accessory work after the main lifts during the three weeks, or no accessory and just squat bench deadlift?
+Emilio Rocha Probably gone b/c it's an older video, but no other accessory work.
The only variable he omitted was the length of the rest period between sets as he changed his volume. Can you get that info from him Brandon?
Thomas Lowe He's responding to a lot of the comments here, but you can always ask him on his channel too!
As much time as needed to be able to be rested for the next set. For me that is 5-7 minutes after an all out set.
Blessings
Hey Brandon do you plan on doing a powerlifting meet?
I've done several and plan on doing more.
Do you have any videos of youre meets? I'd like to see them.
Matthew Banks Yes, videos of the 3 I did so far this year
Brandon Campbell are they on you're channel? I looked a little bit but didn't find them
Matthew Banks Yep, search for "RPS" "Gladiator" and "Massacre" on my channel, should pull each up.
can we have the excel up on dropbox again? Thank you :)
You'd have to ask Garrett
that thanos shirt though
goddamn zordan Lol I caught that too
If I missed my tuesday session, should I train the 3 liftd at 50% 3 x 3 on wednesday and thursday? Or what should I do if my meet is on saturday?
I'd prog get one more light session is, but wouldn't stress it too much
Hi Brandon, any chance you'll be able to reupload the excel files? Both Drobpox and MegaFileUpload hosts have expired. Thanks in advance.
ah these were from Garrett, not sure I have backups.
I feel like this is a stupid question, but I just want check to confirm that it takes just 3 weeks to peak for a meet? Because quite a few articles promote 6 weeks or 10 weeks or maybe even more for peaking so am abit confused
+John Lol Peaking can be done in many different ways.

+Thrusthamster Volume is lower but intensity should have been higher.
