Dane. I really like the thick bar for press technique. I know you use it as a cheap way to allow work, but I find it to be an advantage as an alterantive once a week. Talk about Anderson squats with a Rogue yoke. I can lower the bar and start from the bottom.
Love this video. The parts about breaking down and methodically addressing weakness spoke to me. Thank you for this!! Count me as a subscriber. Never thought high pulls would be beneficial to powerlifting but after hearing your explanation I want to try them.
What’s your opinion on training powerlifting to improve running? I’ve seen time improvements but my coach says that it’s not good for middle/long distance runners like me
We don't recommend powerlifting training for distance running. Check out this video we made on distance running strength training 👉ruclips.net/video/Rd7APuivNbs/видео.html
Running and powerlifting are on opposite ends of the strength spectrum. I would know cause I just graduated hs and did xc and track the past 5 years starting in 8th. They don’t compliment eachother except maybe on the very basic level of fitness. 8-12 rep range would compliment running better. Doing banded work like banded squat or deadlifts will help with explosiveness
GhostfaceMiller! Can you make a video talking more deeply about the potential benefits/carryover from Olympic Lifts into increasing your max strength on Deadlift? For example: I've seen some olympic lifters who literally deadlift only once every 3-4 months if even that. But manage to deadlift over 700pounds when they do, presumably because their Olympic lifting training involves so much volume of heavy explosive Olympic pulling off the ground, blocks, etc. Clearance Kennedy for example. I personally love Olympic lifting, and can do more frequent Olympic lifts with zero hits to my recovery, but i also want to improve my Deadlift. Desdlifts take longer to recover from. I wanna know if i can just pull oly lifts & high bar squat the majority of my micro & mesocycle & still see Deadlift gains 💪 thanks for all your amazing content!!!
Do you have any advice for cyclists? Like crit or track racing around 45-60min races? Can’t find any reputable strength coaches talking about strength training for cycling that isn’t essentially prehab and “try not to get too heavy”. I know the races have high pace with a lot of attacks (sprints) but I struggle between anaerobic power work on the bike and static strength work like the power lifts for what’s best.
I really love powerlifting training bing only 76kg and lift 1.5 body weight in gym feels so good, i hope i can train snatch too, to bad i live in rural area from 3th world country so there is no actual power lifting gym here
Of course not. We have several athletes that have significantly better snatch than clean form, just keep working on it and it will improve. Everybody's different and progresses at their own pace.
Yea I did it for awhile because I've a few injury that require regular body conditioning but in unfortunately some one stolen my_ gym card out a my apartment
something interesting i saw was that lu says he doesn't bench cause it could limit his mobility on his Oly lifts. obviously guy is one of the goats so he seems to have a working formula. thoughts?

Just remember. Anything above 5 reps is cardio.
I agree with this comment on a spiritual level.

This is all that matters

I just did my very first powerlifting competition, and I just won first place in my weight class.
I know its a bit late to question but how long did you train for before doing this competition?
Powerlifting is an all year long program.
@@williamoconnell1233how many sets and reps were you training?
@@RobotTom748 3 sets of 1 rep. We practice with 10 reps each set.

I am a disabled Powerlifter (Paralympian). I think these also apply to me and my fellow paralympians. Thanks
2:09 Unless you are at some realllyyyy weird fed there is no pause at the bottom of a squat.
Excellent content.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Don’t need to wait for cue to come back up in squat though.
Hey coach thank you for making video on powerlifting. I am happy now 🥰 again thank you
glad you enjoyed!
Rad video! Super informative. Great food for thought. Thank you.
All these fantastic coaching suggestions - all the while wearing a Greatful Dead shirt... my man!

If you just wanna get stronger, maybe, but the energy systems are totally different. Maybe more bodybuilding style? Def watch the vid attached.

Me watching this while icing my knee, the struggle is real!

Mobility is my weakness with my squats. My knees only go so far forward before my ankles start lifting up.
Your just weak
So, focus on that weakness and do mobilit for ankle and hip in all directions, you can search it up many websites!
Get weight lifting shoes with raised heels you'll feel so much better

What about strength training for military service members
Much awaited
Hope you like it 💪
Magnet& steel is good song for powerliftting
Oh now you talk about powerlifting once I switch to oly lol
Is it a problem that I mastered my snatch form before my clean form
Of course not. We have several athletes that have significantly better snatch than clean form, just keep working on it and it will improve. Everybody's different and progresses at their own pace.

anybody know any good powerlifting clubs and gyms for u17 and u18 athletes that are kinda js getting into it?
something interesting i saw was that lu says he doesn't bench cause it could limit his mobility on his Oly lifts. obviously guy is one of the goats so he seems to have a working formula. thoughts?
I think bench could be used as a solid accessory. We rarely have our oly lifters bench, only for certain reasons
Can a person with herniated disc problem do powerlifting
Gene was the first to squat and bench 1k. I don’t know it’s the same meet. RIP
rep ranges?
Did Ray Williams squat look ass to grass? It was impressive but I wouldn't even say that the crease of his hip and thigh were in line with his knee.
🔥🔥🔥
Favorite dead song?!?
The chick is super cute doing the front squats
Louie is dead???? No!!!!
sad, we know! His research and knowledge will be utilized for years to come!
just noticed the dead shirt. Had a feeling you had a third eye
Do not agree at all, you high bar squat until two months out from the meet. Wtf?
That’s just cause I personally hate high bar! By the way.
If you're wanting to become a PLer, don't. Get help.
