  • Reflecting on Our One-Year Journey with Our Backyard Orchard and RUclips Channel
    The J&M Backyard Orchard journey began about 12 months ago when we started our our journey and this channel. Looking back, we’re thankful for how far we’ve come.
    Watching the fruit trees that we planted a couple of years ago grow, and start producing fruits has been such a rewarding experience. Moving some of them from pots to the ground this year, has made a noticeable difference.
    We’ve also focused on keeping the trees manageable with regular pruning, which has been a big difference for our suburban backyard. Keeping the trees compact not only works for the space we have, but makes harvesting easier and enjoyable.
    Sharing this journey via RUclips has been a great experience, and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead. Thank you for being part of it.

    Well I've waited a long time for the update and it was well worth the wait. The garden looks fabulous and you are blessed to live in such a forgiving climate 😁

      Yes, we've had to be a little creative with the space we have and the number of trees we would like to have.

      We are hoping to keep the trees relatively small through summer and winter pruning 🤞

    Wow! The selection, density and health of everything here is exceptional! I'm in Brissy too and just starting my orchards so this is very aspirational for me haha

    Beautiful garden. Thanks for the updated tour, was hoping to see one from you guys.
    What did you guys use for the edging for the plants that are inside the grass areas? I’m trying to find something similar for my yard which won’t be too tall for my fruit trees

    Thank you for your kind comment. For the edging, we are using Shapescaper edging from Garden Edging Solutions, Brendale, Queensland.

    Beautiful garden. What zone are you in?

      Thank you. We are not based in the USA and live in Brisbane, Australia which has a subtropical climate, similar to cities in Zone 10 or 11 on the USA plant hardiness zone map. We have some hot humid summer days and mild winters probably similar to Central Florida weather.

    How do the white Dragon pollinated?

    • @JMbackyardorchard
      @JMbackyardorchard  5 дней назад

      White dragon fruits are self pollinating and does not require hand pollination although we do pollinate ours to guarantee fruiting. We also collect white dragonfruit pollen and store in the fridge to pollinate those varieties that require cross pollination as white dragon fruit pollen has universal properties!
