Beginner & Intermediate Yoga Wheel Backbends & Shoulder Openers - with Natalie

  • Beginner & Intermediate Backbends & Shoulder Openers using a Yoga Wheel. I have very long arms and long legs. I am 5’6” tall and am using a 12” Yoga Wheel in this video.
    The beginning of this video has a sped up Full body Warm up: Do every move on Both sides x10
    -Arm Circles
    -Wrist Circles
    -Elbow Circles
    -Squats
    -Twists
    -Binds
    Then I show some more intense Warm ups to get your back prepared for Bending and your Shoulders even Warmer so they can open more too!
    -Crunches to warm up your Abdomen and Hips
    -Side Crunches to warm up your Obliques
    -Back Extensions on All Fours, using opposite arm & leg to warm up your Hamstrings, Glutes, Back & Shoulders
    I go over lots of modifications, but if you have any questions for injury prevention and more modifications, you can comment below and I will answer to the best of my knowledge or get you pointed in the right direction.

    Hi! I love this video, and thank you so much! Just a quick question, do we try to hold the position or do the move for 10-15 times?

      I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! For the warm up, do the exercises for 10-15 reps. Fo the back bends you can hold the positions for a couple breaths, and over time, you will be able to hold longer and go deeper into the stretch. Always try to squeeze the butt! That will protect your back and help you feel stronger in a backbend. Hope that helps💜
