The Manhattans are great R&B vocal group who started in the 60's. Their 2 biggest hits are "Kiss & Say Goodbye" & "Shining Star". But they had other good songs such as "There's No Me Without You", "Crazy", "Forever By Your Side", "Just The Lonely Talking Again" etc.
Ashley, I'm really enjoying your enjoying these classic oldies! This is one of those you slow dance to while holding your baby tight. Oh yeah, they just don't make um like they use to. Other songs by The Manhattans you'll love are Kiss and Say Goodbye, There's No Me Without You, and Shining Star. Enjoying this journey with you. Lot of great memories!
I was looking for The Manhattans performing this live and I came across your Channel. So happy I did I love to see young people experience what I experienced when I was very young hearing this for the first time when this song actually was released. It will be 50 years in two more years that this song was released and I still love it every bit much as I did when I first heard it. Thank you again for posting and I'm going to check out more of your Channel.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Manhattans are phenomenal. They are one of the best groups evvvvverrr! They have superb harmony. And Gerald Alston's voice is angelic. You should check out "Shining Star " by them too.
I am a 60 yr. old man and I love your reactions to this classic song, this was a time when a man had to talk and listen to his lady to romance her before they became lovers.
Another great pick! This is a 10 in my book. Another group you may like that has a sound like this is Ray, Goodman & Brown, formerly named the Moments. Both groups are some brothers with the Suave!
The Manhattans are one of THE best ensembles to ever exist ! I love these guys....all of their cuts. You gotta listen to "Shining Star" and "Kiss and Say Goodbye"
I grew up in the 70s when most R & B songs were grown and sexy so at 5,6, 7 years old songs like these were my absolute favorites! We as kids didn’t understand the lyrics but we loved and appreciated this kind of music.
I just spoke to Gerald Alston a few months ago... He's still got it. He sang at a Masonic event, he's a Mason and I've met him quite a few times, if you didn't know this music, you'd be un a room with him and never guess who he was in a million years...❤❤
They can't make music this good anymore! This is a midnight grove, quiet storm, slow jam classic!!!
Exactly 💯. Those days are long gone glad I grew up in that era
