I love the pointy peoples. It just seems fitting for the time these pins were made. My pin has many pointy people also and the Grandkids thinks it's awesome. Many thanks for your videos, your knowledge and your humor.
Hello Joe , you wouldn't believe it I just bought this very pinball here in Australia , I will be doing videos of my Jubilee , wow this table looks good - I do need to fix the play-field though , Cheers Marcho's Arcade
Although not recommended, my favorite memory of my pinball addiction was kicking the bottom panel at the end of an unsuccessful run and hearing the box of quarters shake and rattle. That was some retribution to me when losing.
The really old ones that was actually how you were supposed to turn them off. They didn't have power switches, so if you pressed the left flipper (when they were off) it turned them on, and if you kicked the bottom of the cabinet it turned them off!
LOL I'll have to take a pic next time I see it in a manual or inside a machine, they have a 'kick off switch' on the bottom they literally used to tell the operators to explain to the locations when they closed down at night to kick the bottom of the machine to turn it off....
Had the 2 player Darling here in Thailand..the only one that I know of mind about 5 years ago and restored it then sold it on to someone in Bangkok. That machine had some history, was bought over from Germany in 1975 and placed in a restaurant/bar in downtown Bangkok where it stayed along with another classic "Fast Draw" until 2012 when it closed down I noticed them both, made a deal and bought them back to Kanchanaburi..had some good times with them.
As i said in the earlier video, i modded my Jubilee abit, by adding two rubber posts on each side of that "horseshoe" middle part, made it abit trickier because the ball bounced around more. Carefully calculated modding, naturally, took me a whole day with the planning and measuring. LOL
I don't know if I mentioned it on any of the videos but originally there were supposed to be pop bumpers where those two roll over buttons are beside the horseshoe, but they thought it would make it too hard to get back up to the top so they took them out...
Williams they had amazing designers. Simple looks easy but not so easy made you drop lots of quarters and still kicks your butt. I had a Gulfstream years back such a amazing design. Its was so hard to beat but it looked easy. The more you played the harder it was :0)
Why did with mine is I adjusted the back legs all the way up in the front legs all the way down and put a two-by-four under it back legs that's perfect angle
Hi I like your videos. I just recently bought a 1972 Williams Superstar. I learned how to remove the glass and clean it up and I'm enjoying it in my auto body shop. The main bonus hole keeps the ball instead of kicking it out... so I had to put a rubber band around it to prevent it from going in there , which is kind of a bummer. Also, the ball does not get kicked out into the shooting lane when lose a game... have to open the coin box and flick it with a tool to get it to go up at lane so I can shoot again. I'm not sure how to repair this or if I want to.
So at the end of each ball, does the number on the backglass change that tells you which ball it is? Will the game end, or does it just keep playing as long as you want?
Lets see...i lose the ball, open door, and reach up to flick it back into shooting alley...the game doesn't end when i lose the ball. It doesn't tally up points and change from Ball 1 to ball 2 ...@@LyonsArcade
Most of them have something fun about them or they never would have made it out of production, they sold Eleven THOUSAND Darling and Jubilees, they were actually a pretty big hit!
It's because there's only a few of us who are filming tons of games, most people are just filming their private collection but since I sell them I get more stuff through.... Thanks for watching as always man!
@@LyonsArcade Just saw parts 1 and 2 of this. I'll be utlizing these videos man. I have a ton come through i just am lazy. Restoring a TMNT just finished a cocktail galaga and a taito elevator axshun. :) As always i sure appreciate all the uploads
And those old school pinball mechanical machines. Your battling against physics gravity and Chaos Theory.. All rolled into playing that one pinball machine. Accept no two games are alike. Chaos theory. And can never repeat. . Make the best score on that pinball machine. And truly your a PINBALL WIZARD. and that's the twist.
It does say 1972 which is when they copyrighted the artwork I suppose, but the game didn't come out until June of 73, they often worked on these for a year before releasing them. It takes even longer now, Stern Pinball will sometimes work on a game for 2 or 3 years before it's ready for release...
Oh, the intoxicating sound of an EM game! Buzzing solenoids and sonorous chimes... I wonder if it would be considered bad form to fill and level the divots on the playfield around the lights and such with some kind of clear resin or epoxy? The not-physics moves that the ball makes around them seems so unfair!
@@LyonsArcade Yeah, I expect it would be really tricky and time consuming to fill them without messing up all of the graphics around them. I have just always hated it when a slow moving ball pulls one of those crazy-ivans in the middle of the playfield and then drains right down the middle :)
That's part of it, the ball is wild :) I've heard of people filling the holes with Super Glue because it's self leveling but you have to be brave to try that :)
Hey Joe you just got to hold on to it lightly let it do its thing my place great don't hold onto a tight and just needs a little bit it's like a woman man I ain't going to go any further than that you know what I mean I just admire rubbers on my gutters so it's a little tighter

Thank you Mark, we appreciate you watching.
Still love those old school late 70's mechanical pinball machines..
And want to own a Captain Fantastic...
One day.
Yeah I'd like to get one in and film it one day. Great artwork on it!

Have fun with it Marcho, we did a repaint of one on here somewhere but it was trashed! Hard to get the neon colors right.... good luck with it!

Beautiful machine
We thought it turned out nice!

Very cool story, thank you Krazzy12U... glad to see Thailand is tuning into the videos from time to time :)
Jubilee and Darling were 2 of My Favorites. Segasa made a 1 Player Casbah a Replay Add a Ball of Jubilee and Darling.
Owned a Little Darling back in the day.

I'd like to get one of those, looks fun!
Yo love all arcade games I’ll figure out my arcade projects I have thanks joe for trying to help
Absolutely man let me know as you work through them we can figure it out.
I played the 2-player version of this game Darling about 2 years ago
Paul I do believe you've played about all of them :)

It looks as good as new again.. great job to save some great things of history
Thank you Demofilm we have some more cool videos coming soon , we're filming right now!
"Those Bastards!" 😂 Funny video and neat game, seems more fun to play than you'd expect by looking at it.

Damn, those outlanes are brutal! haha
Yup! You've gotta watch how you let that ball bounce off the flipper or out it goes!

Hello. What’s the front height of the cabinet? I have one that i converted to a vpin but i feel it’s high.
Pretty sure the machine decal says 1972....or is that a 3?(between the flippers) is it like baseball cards?

I am trying to find the paint color chart for this play field. Any advice?

You could fill them in absolutely if you wanted to. ... but fair? What is fair? :)

He sounds like me - "I'm gonna kick some @$$ now! (drain). Damn it."
Joe do you know anything about slot machines
Unfortunately nope I've never messed with one. Is it an old electromechanical one or one of the newer electric ones.
