I’ve been binge watching multiple RUclipsrs since I had my big knee surgery in early January and this past week or two, I’ve been binge watching your videos!! How do you get into tornado chasing, like it would be difficult to have a job while simultaneously going out for weeks chasing storms, do you find a flexible job that lets you work in the off season? I’d love to get an answer
I work part time for a Church, and they've been gracious to work with me driving all the time as long as I'm back on Sunday mornings. Then I can do most of the rest remote. Though I have also been taking a few Sundays off in May too during the most active period too. And I definitely rent a few rooms. Sleeping in the Prius is like camping. It's fun for a time, but it's always great to be back in a real bed.
Well, two things are certain now: 1. You hold power over Mother Nature, as your car being struck by lightning didn't put an end to you chasing storms with it 2. Mother Nature clearly isn't happy that you hold power over it Also, just wondering... did your insurance company deem your Prius to be totaled/salvage titled after the lightning strike? I'd guess as such, given the nature of what happened to it, but I'd be quite shocked if they didn't.
Haha! The car had 250,000 miles on it, so I stopped ensuring it for comprehensive a few years ago. I was able to file two $100 claims for towing, though, and that paid just over half that cost at least.
Its weird how I always seem to come across Pi on on RUclips. My first encounter was when i was really little and really liked making lego machines (like candy machines, safes, even transformers and brick blasters) and one of his videos was about a candy machine (by the way, I'm still waiting on a step-by-step tutorial @More Pi). Then he started his minecraft channel when i was in middle school and i watched that until high school. Then recently, he has snuck back into my RUclips recommended with his storm chasing videos. I just thought that was pretty interesting, even though RUclips is run by an algorithm.
You are very good at storm chasing except you hydroplaned and got super close to tornados but 100/10 of your storm chasing btw R-I-P for your windshield =[
Hey Pi, I get that you get your music from the RUclips audio library, but what are the track titles? I need the track titles that are in your videos. Give me a list of the titles or something. 😊
Doing pretty well! Engine's wiggling a little so I just ordered a new motor mount that might reduce it, the others are trickier to get to. But I'm pretty happy even with that for a car that has 260,000 miles on it.
Radarscope, and occasionally RadarOmega. Though the radar I used in this video was GRLevel II, since it'll let me import archived radar that I downloaded. Then I motion tracked my recorded GPS in After Effects to composite my location onto it. All that's really time consuming so now I just screen capture Radarscope my iPad and speed it up and it looks almost as good.
I know absolutely nothing about storm chasing, but it kinda looks like neither do you. If you have a death wish (which with that voice I can understand if you do) then continue forward PAT with your precise chasing skills. If your smart thou you would be educated to chase storms.
