Plate the whole thing for strength my trucks where double framed saw people move rear end back and cut behind cab didn't trust either one if i needed a longer frame I would get another truck use to build the trailers for hauling heavy equipment 10:01
It’s never too late. Go to harbor freight and buy their Vocan 220 multi machine. You can mig and stick with it. It’s not a miller or Lincoln but great to learn and you can do projects just like he did with it. Watch videos, always clean/grind the surface so it’s 100% clean and practice!
That truck is a 377 with a setback front axle and he put a short 378 hood on it….the fenders don’t line up with the axle…..that a shame….makes the truck look like doo doo!
That's what i was saying! He thinks that he was stretching a trailer! He wouldn't be touching anything of mine! You go get more cross members and you drill holes and you bolt them in! I feel sorry for the person that owns the truck!
@@glennoliphint8691 no need to feel sorry for the owner lol if the crossmember breaks or cracks will pull it out drill holes and bolt one in. Again this was my first time doing this so we’re learning it’s part of the process.
Why worry about the 5th wheel when he welded a square tubing in between the frame rails! Instead of going and getting another cross member and drilling the holes in the frame rails and bolting it in the right way!
My dad had a friend who would buy trucks like that and cut behind the cab tandems trucks stretch frame out put box on frame and the trucks would look like they bowed behind the cab scary to me i would not drive one friend of mine had a tandem dump truck and hauled a load of rock when he got to job and stopped frame broke behind the cab fire department had to get him out frame broke was one of the guys that never checked anything for safety sake sold what was left of truck and retired
You know that he screwed up too! 😂 If there were supposed to be square tubing welded in between the frame rails that would done that at the factory instead of doing it the right way and drilling holes and bolting the cross members in so that the frame rails can flex some instead of cracking or breaking!😂
Superb looking job. No drama's. Mick London
That's a job well done nice and clean
Badass! Good job looks clean AF!
You crazy man!
That welded in crossmember tube is going to crack.
We’ll keep an eye on it
@madmarwelding IF the cross members were supposed to be welded in the factory would have been doing it.
Job well done..looks good...
Great job
maybe take the rear axle and fifth wheel off and add the new 30 inches to the rear of the factory frame
That's the right way, but nobody ever wants to drill all the holes and move the rear suspension

I wished I learned how to wield

Must have pretty relaxed road transport laws in Merica
Perfect little single just got wrecked
It's for his customer that wanted it lengthened for a specific reason
Looks durn good to me

You welded the cross members in ??????
That's going to break

Did you move the fifth wheel back about eight inches?
