Testing the Cyberbike Mullet Pro: Why get a MULLET Ebike?

  • The Cyberbike Mullet Pro is a premium full suspension electric mountain bike (E-MTB) at a budget-friendly price. Just like the mullet haircut comes in mixed lengths front to back, the Cyberbike Mullet Pro tire sizes differ resulting in the saying, "business in the front and a party in the back."
The 29-inch front tire rolls over large obstacles with ease helping with stability, while the 27.5-inch rear tire allows the bike to be more nimble. The smaller tire in the rear means you can have a shorter chainstay and you get more wheel clearance.
In this video, we unbox, set up, walkthrough, and take the Cyberbike Mullet Pro for a spin on a mountain biking course.

I bought a new 52v 21amp battery for my 1000w bafang Mario ebike and I had a spare 48v 14.5amp battery so I bought a second hand hard tail mountain bike and added 750w mid-drive bbs02 and the bike performs like a dream all for £600

I bought a Mullet Pro on their Black Friday sale. Good bike for the money and well worth the price. I had 2 others before this one. Quality is another issue and only time will tell. Most components are good, and others can be exchanged (seat for example). It has been tested on mountain trails here in Hawaii and works well. Strong and capable of pulling me up steep slopes. A bit heavy but thats expected. Battery seems to last a long time.

I have the lowest model in the Cyberbike line called the Falcon. It's not a Mullet and it is the small frame so I do get pedal strikes because of the about 5" ground clearance. I bent the rear axle at around 300 miles. The only way to maybe prevent this from happening again is to be less aggressive on single tracks and replace the QR axle with a solid axle. The components are knock offs of more recognized brands but other than the axle have performed well enough. I paid $2000 for the Falcon. It now sells for $2500. It does have smaller brakes and fork and the front axle is a smaller diameter than the one on this Mullet bike. The 500 watt motor even in a low cog will cut off pulling up a steep whoop with the throttle. It will pull in the same low cog up a long steep incline in Pedal Assist. Must have a torque sensor that cuts off power. The Mullet definitely has better ,heavier duty components than the Falcon. I am thinking about selling the Falcon and getting a Kona or a Luna that has brand name components or when these fail replacing them with a better quality Shimano or ? Even though the battery is only 13 amps the 500 watt motor is economical and will go over 50 miles on a paved trail or streets in Pedal Assist 1 or 2 and somewhat less depending on how much the throttle is used on single track. For $3500 you can get a decent Kona with a 250 watt motor and all Shimano. No throttle though which I do have to admit I like for powering away from an intersection. The throttle on a single track is very hard to control if it is at all rough and trail bounces the bike. For $2000 it is an OK buy and has provided a lot of fun.

The reason there's not much info on these is they are not mass produced, only a limited number a year are sold. You have to buy before June or they sell out. You won't find a better deal for 2,400. It compares to 5-6 thousand dollar bikes in every way.
It's built in USA!! Not China. It's owned by motorcycle racing engineer legend Dan Fischer. The best warranty in the business, 3 years on motor.
Wolf e-spec. Is also American company, you don't see them because they are exclusively used on cyberbike only. Specifically designed for heavy ebikes, heavy duty, not Chinese crap. 4 piston hydraulics with oversized master cylinder for stronger stops. I got one and it's awesome, people are always asking me about it. Not Chinese junk!! They have the best warranty around. Nothing you can name to compare has more than 80-90 nm torque. This is 130 nm for $2500. Take the time and check out the specs, they match or exceed bikes twice the price.

@@cyberbikeemtb6978 Id be down to try one, but as an avid MTB rider for years, i know a thing or two about components, hardware and geometry of a bike.. not to throw you under the bus but anyone who knows anything about decent MTB wouldnt touch this. And the price tag is insane for zero parts that are quality besides the samsung battery.
First your frame and linkages in the back are just Chinese mass manufactured junk. The actual bearings that connect the shock, are complete trash just by looking at them. That is a huge problem. They will fail and bearings need serviced regularly. Then your drivetrain is not even a reputable drivetrain, like shimano, sram or box. Nor are the brakes a reputable brand.... The fork and the airshock's are just mass Chinese produced shocks which i can find zero info on. They are FOX knock offs. Not saying Chinese components are bad, but they will never out preform actual reputable mountain bike components. They need serviced regularly and cheap hardware and components make it nearly impossible. Cheap forks are bound to fail. This bike is a hot mess express! The only thing going for it is the Maxxis tires and the alum frame is OK but the Geo is not modern at ALL. This bike is a rails to trails cruser if anything and i wouldnt trust it on real mountain bike trails..
But for 4 grand for literally ZERO name brand components, yall are not going appeal to any market other than people who know nothing about modern bikes! Good luck selling these when you can buy brands like TREK, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale, any of them sell nice ebikes starting around 3500. And they have REAL components, not a pile of Chinese rubbish.

Oh wait, you just want one and done parts on a bike so you can turn a profit. So again yeah cheap Chinese forks and shocks are trash because there is zero servicing info and parts to service them. I dont care what degree you have, obviously you should stick to motocross and not MTB. Or maybe try another market that wont call your bike out for what it is.

So at 3500 you’re getting a Mickey Mouse suspension , 10 gears, 42 inch display (I assume, so you can see your speed better when you pass cars) and an option for a thumb throttle? Which reputable bicycle company would offer such an option on their eMTB line. But you are getting a mullet so they know something about MTB gear. How about you spend 1500 and get a real eMTB with much better components that will last more than few track rides. Perhaps a gravel e-bike is all you need. Oh wait , it’s now 2500 . It’s still has about 1000 more to go.

Bought the 2023 model based off this review. Honestly the worst purchase.I've ever made. Overall seems like decent quality but the chain is crap. Dropped the chain coasting off the curb of a sidewalk and it folded under itself ,twisted and jammed between the crankset. I ordered the headlight as I ride at night often and the connection is the wrong. Customer service said they'll shipp a new one but have never received it or tracking. Now they ignore multiple emails for a refund. I ordered a light that works from Amazon and had it in two days. Customer service has been awful as I just get the run-around if they even respond. Hopefully this is an exception to the norm but I can NOT recommend this. Look for something better that doesn't take over six months to arrive from China

Going to be honest, I wouldn't be trusting a bunch of no name components while mountain biking. There are much better regular MTB bikes for the price, and better eMTB for not so much more. Plus, this has a throttle, so is not a class one. At least where I'm at, throttle ebikes aren't allowed on the trails at all, if ebikes are allowed at all. We don't need throttle bikes on MTB trails.
