I love this channel. I didn’t know all the potential the explorer ST had until I found this channel. I bought a 2020 ST now I’m saving up to dump a lot of money in it.
Those things are huge! I have the smaller Edge ST, and I swapped my fronts to some Wilwood 6 piston calipers. Made a big difference in stopping distance. I want to do the rears as well, but the electronic parking brake is my deterrent right now.
Glad I watched this. Was debating gt500 or the Superforged brake kit think I’m going Superforged since it’s straight up bolt on w/ ss brake lines. Thanks Travis keep it up the good work. P.S. nice hickey on the neck 😂 #chupacabra
Little trick to prevent losing brake fluid: depress the brake pedal about an inch and that will close the valve on the master cylinder and won't let brake fluid come pouring out of your brake lines when you crack them open.
Did you ever end up having to do a "service bleed" on the ABS system or has your manual bleed held up? I'm getting ready to perform this upgrade soon. Thank you
I mean we do use the same mug pattern as the gt500 so I would assume the GT500 wheels would fit over the brakes. And yes this kit will work on the aviators as well
There is nothing wrong with using the old school method. I’ve done it on a bunch of explorers and never a single issue. I try my best to do my install videos with everyday tools that 90% of people will have without spending a bunch of money on a tool they will use onetime.
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks I upgrade my front to the Street Package. That the day I called you and told you my was freaking out. Had to use Forscan reset the brakes. Still waiting to do the rear.
Question…why didn’t you use forscan to bleed the brakes? I did rotors and pads in my explorer and it went nuts. Had to clear all the faults with forscan….
A company called mofo speed makes them I realized I forgot to add that into the video that’s my fault. Idk if he has a website or just sell through Facebook.
You’d have to find an adapter to mount the caliper and I doubt it as you need to find different rotors as f150s are 6 lug and explorer and mustangs are 5 lug

Thank you brother 🙏😁 I try my best to show everyone the potential of the platform 😁
Same boat
The brakes looks great I like the color of the rims.
Thank you 🙏😁
You guys are and please remain! Educational!!

Love this. Definitely added to my list of mods down the road
Hell yes 💪
Those brakes are huuuuuge. And those wheels are 🤤🤤🤤
And today we are changing the brakes and wheels…already… wait till you see the new setup 🥵
How to install GT500 brakes on the ST: Step 1, drive to Houston and knock on Travis’ door
😂😂😂
nother dope vid Travis! Hope to using some of ur tutorials soon! Hope to be a ST owner this fall or in spring!
Thank you brother 🙏😁 hell yeah I hope you get it 😅
Glad I watched this.

I’ll be making a super forged brake video as well here soon 😁 and thank you brother 😁 yeah dang vampire got me in my sleep
Another great video!! Thanks 👏🏻
Thank you for watching 🙏😁

That’s awesome man!! Sick

Where did you purchase the brake kit from?
I cant find that bracket to upgrade the calipers anywhere
What year are the rotors and calipers
They are from a 2020 gt500
Those wheels look fantastic! Will the GT 500 wheels fit without spacers? Will this kit fit in the Aviator?
I mean we do use the same mug pattern as the gt500 so I would assume the GT500 wheels would fit over the brakes. And yes this kit will work on the aviators as well
Where is the front jack point? Did you remove the plastic under the front to jack through there?
Just watched this video then text one of my bosses to pull aside a set of gt500 calipers and rotors for me instead of recycling them.
Hell yeah! All you’ll need is the mofo speed bracket and you’ll be all set
Where can you get those caliper adaptors
Mofo Speed is the company that makes them
I can't find the MoFo Speed brackets when i use google. Do you have the site or phone number?
I would not bleed the brake with the pedal. The car will freak out. You will a Power Bleeder that connect to the brake reservoir.

@Stone177 I unplug the battery when I do the brakes and it seems to work in not letting it freak the system out.
Makes you wonder how much weight this kit adds to the car.
We need to get a bigger scale it maxed out the scale we tried weighing it on 😅

@ man that’s wild.😜
It works 😅
@ dude on the explorer forum told me I might have destroyed my ebb…crazy
How much is brake kit ?
Roughly $2000 give or take on if you find a used set like we did
What year gt500?
does anyone know who made the caliper brackets?
A company called mofo speed makes them I realized I forgot to add that into the video that’s my fault. Idk if he has a website or just sell through Facebook.
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks Thank you. I appreciate all the videos and work you guys do.
Does it fit the stock 21’s with spacers 1.25 spacers?
I'd also like to know
I highly doubt it as we needed spacers with the proper offset wheel on the explorer… you’d probably need a bigger spacer than a 1.25
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks worth asking 🤣 looks great man!
Me, im that guy who asked for this video lol.
lol here it is 😅
What would you estimate total cost at for parts?
He was in this kit for right around 2k in parts 😁
Will this work on an f150?
You’d have to find an adapter to mount the caliper and I doubt it as you need to find different rotors as f150s are 6 lug and explorer and mustangs are 5 lug
Why put the new rim on its face ? Run risk of scratching it on concrete
If you look closely that’s actually gym Matt’s it’s laying on not concrete 😁
I would have liked to her rolling tho 😕. Maybe a couple quick stops on those Nittos.
Dang it… missed opportunity 🥲
Let see how you bleed the brakes. Just started watching the video.
Old school method
That’s a lot of brake for a vehicle that has no tuning available
