    For anyone watching this he’s always on point with his paddle Reviews. I bought paddles against his reviews in the past and hated my decision 😂. Trust me when I say this “Don’t fall for Selkirk marketing!” So so so much better paddles out there for almost half the price. Plus spray on grit? Naaaah

    I have had my amped pro air for about two weeks now. I am coming from using the luxx for the last two years. My first match or warmup if you want to call it that the feel of the paddle did not feel the same but after several matches I am really confident in my purchase! I have enjoyed my paddle so far and have had no complaints. The only thing I did differently as far as setup goes was that I did not add lead tape as I did with my luxx I found with this paddle it was not necessary. This is just my personal preference. Overall I have enjoyed my paddle and do not regret my decision at all.

    Got to use it from the Selkirk rep last Sunday at a University tournament after I left my paddle at the courts and it got stolen. I ended up winning in the finals. I got used to it after 1 warm up match. I purchased one yesterday through the rep and can't wait to use it.
    I was coming from the Power air invikta, it feels SOOO much better! I was going to go with luxx, but I'll stick with this till otherwise.

    Neon and white paddles should absolutely be illegal. I know it doesn't effect some people, but for many other thousands of players, it makes the ball very hard to track at certain angles. I'm a 5.3 player and have lost many balls coming off white power airs (and before that the neon pro kennex).

    • @jordanhenegar
      @jordanhenegar Месяц назад +7

      There is a reason the pros have called to ban these colors, and they are no longer allowed at mlp/ ppa.

      Jordan!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!! I've been yelling at everyone about this for 1.5 years. It's not only absurd but it really hurts the game. The only way we all get better is to play against shots we can see; if that's delayed even a split second (which it is for all these paddles), then I can't play my best shot, which means my opponent never gets my best shot. Which means we all get worse. Selkirk, listen up and do something about it.

    • @adamheath4599
      @adamheath4599 Месяц назад +2

      Agreed, I’ll lose sight of the ball when someone has a white paddle. If I played a tournament and someone had that shit, I’d definitely go to a ref with that, or tournament director.

      @adamheath4599 Месяц назад +1

      @@HughMungus8for me it’s white, the more white it is the worse it is for me. This may also apply to baby blue as well, but I haven’t played against someone who uses that Selkirk.

    WOW!!! Two Aizec reviews in a row. Aizec must be getting a following of his own (I love it). But a paddle review from the two of you is good, because while you have similar games, they are also very different. And you definitely have differing tastes in paddle stats. So having two points of view on a paddle is great!

    Middle of the road paddle in terms of power and control. Plays well "out of the box" meaning no lead tape placement needed for me for this paddle. Power Air has more pop still. Decent paddle for the price.

    Other than the Luxxx looking pretty clean, I can’t for the life of me understand why ANYONE would drop the insane $$ on a Selkirk. Meh performance, spray on grit….and don’t tell me because they are made in the USA… because I’ll even question that, as I’ve seen a video clip from an ALIBABA factory that has Selkirk paddles (Not SLK) lined up on the wall in the background… lol

    • @NOT_A_TOP_FAN
      @NOT_A_TOP_FAN Месяц назад

      @@user-kt3sl1bj4w lol, I’m not gonna push a paddle on you. But here’s the truth… that Luxx is actually making you a better player. Everyone going to power paddles, are only masking what they need to work on - mechanics and consistency. Now if the Luxx is just too much of a pillow, then go to something that’s more of a balance. If you’re a die hard Selkirk, then maybe something like this paddle would be good for you. But honestly, you could get 2 really good paddles from smaller brands (and I’m not saying the cheap Amazon brands), that play just as good or better than Selkirks….

      The Selkirk Power Air and Luxx Control Air fit my game well. I own 12 other paddles from various brands (PaddleTek, Engage, Ronbus, Joola, ProXR AMA Sport and I'm sure I leaving a couple out). As a rec player the Selkirks have held up well. When it comes to spin it is a combination of paddle surface, my grip, and my technique in my experience. I'm willing to pay the premium because I'm not living pay check to pay check and I appreciate how Selkirk supports pickleball through their sponsorships. Just decided to order the AMPED Pro Air Invikta to see if it fits my game and how it compares to my Luxx and Power Air. It's only money and I prefer to explore to build my own first hand knowledge base on paddles relative to my specific game style and level.
