    I bought a baby Blue Hippo Tang a few days ago. I have a 125 Gallon Tank, plus two 32.5 Gallon tanks, two 20 Gallon Tanks (One is an Axolotl tank), and 5 smaller tanks. Some of our tanks are Saltwater, some Brackish Water, and some Freshwater. Right now, he or she, is the size of a quarter. I thought it might be safer for me to put him one of the 32.5 Gallon tanks with 2 Clownfish and a Goby, since my 125 Gallon has a Porcupine Puffer in it. My Porcupine Puffer ate a couple of tiny Clownfish a little over a year ago, when I first bought the Puffer, and he was on hunger strike. Ever since he did that, we started feeding him a couple of Feeder Goldfish per day, a couple of nbocks of Krill, and peas...And, he hasn't eaten or even nipped at another pet fish again. Do you think I should wait a couple of months to introduce my Blue Hippo Tank to the 125 Gallon tank? Also, do the Blue Hippos like Krill? And, can they eat the Algae Wafers that I have for my Plecos?

    The pellets I feed my fish contain seaweed, so I don't give them seaweed sheets. The pellets has other stuff. 90% of their diet are these pellets. I also give my tank 1 cube of frozen carnivore cubes a day. I have two Hippos in my tank...they get along great. I got both of them when they were about 3-4" each. They are 6-7" now. I've had them 4-5 years. No disease ever.

      Thats interesting, could be normal for that tang or it could have some sort of external parasite that's bothering it.

    I am sorry
    I have a plan to keep dory
    This is my first tank
    Is it special seaweed for fish or just regular seaweed such as for nori?
    Thank you for answering

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  4 года назад

      I only feed nori and they love it and are fine with it.

      If it is your first tank, try some freshwater fish first. There is a lot to keeping a saltwater tank. Learn about cycling a tank.

    saying they're 100% reef safe is not entirely accurate sing the reef safe with caution would be more appropriate

    How do you treat the ich if you get it.

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  4 года назад +2

      Honestly if one of my fish gets it and I cant catch him out of the tank, I leave them in the tank and ramp up the feeding. It usually goes away pretty quick. If you can catch the fish, put it in a different tank and dose medications with it.

    IMO there not easy. There ich magnets and need extensive quarantine with meds to ensure their health and health of other fish. But feeding them yes can be easy

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  3 года назад

      They are great eater, I think they get a bad rap in the hobby for how ich prone they are, I dont think this is true IF you buy from a trusted source, I bought mine from my trusted fish store and it was nice and healthy and ate, I threw him in without quarantining and have never had a problem with him with any diseases, as also my other fish as well.
