Once I started approaching Guitar practice , or training, and it's individual skills as I would practice weight training, martial arts, or the most relevant, my career as a Fastball pitcher, my skills improved almost immediately. Think of a skill you've become competent at in the past. How you applied repetitions, made adjustments, and narrowed your focus to the weakest areas. and apply that to the guitar. Once practice is done, then 'Play' music that specifically utilizes those skills. Stop practicing like a 'Guitar Player' and practice like an athlete. The proof is in the results. I finally nailed 'Scuttlebuttin' yesterday. Thank Claus for pointing me in the right direction the past couple years. 😀

Mentally rehearsing things is so effective. You can improve at so many things that way. When I used to do judo I had a contest going on in my head all the time. It really helped.

Jk! Lol I also struggle with this but videos on the tube, books, and saving up for courses. I applied for a credit card to purchase Modern Guitar Course and it helps. This guy is also amazing and has great tips. Just take pieces from multiple teachers that makes sense to YOU and you'll see improvement.
