    Head Extreme Tour tennis racquet review
    For a racquet that is a bit control oriented, the Head Extreme Tour is one of the powerful tennis racquet, same for the access to top spin.
    Very easy to swing, comfortable and rather forgiving for its category.
    Interesting for tennis players :
    - with a modern game, a bit agressive, with top spin (not huge top spin, see a bigger frame instead in that case),
    - looking for a tennis racquet control oriented but at the same time with a good amount of power,
    - looking for a racquet easy to swing.

    Glad to see you back. I recently transitioned to this racquet from the Head G360 Radical Pro and found it to be a realtively natural change. I have both Extreme G360+ Tour and Radical G360 Pro strung with Lynx Tour in the main, and MLT in the crosses at 24kg and find that the Extreme gives easier access to power and spin. Can't wait to see your future reviews!

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 it was a bit pingy and unstable in stock form I must say, maybe that’s why you felt it had the same power level as the Speed because you could swing it very fast, but I felt it had very little weight behind the ball. After adding 4 grams of lead my experience changed a lot, I felt I could hit a heavier and more consistent ball thanks to better plowthrough. I’d say this is more of a control stick with some good pop rather than a twenner style frame like the Speed, cheers!

    Always great reviews! I recently switched to this racquet and also really like it. Also for the maneuverability and spin with enough control. I really love Lynx Tour but hated it with this racquet, it was very pingy as someone else mentioned. I have tried hyper G (regular and soft 17ga), Ultra Cable and Cyclone 18ga. All are much better but I prefer this racquet with a dead feeling string like hyper G and UC.

    Impressive hitting and I totally agree with your review. I had a chance to compare the ET to the Rad-MP and Speed-MP recently (all latest versions). The feel is great on all of them. I found the Rad-MP good but a bit head-heavy, so fine for baseline, but a little clunky elsewhere. The Speed-MP was very nice too, more spin and power because of the 100 sqi, but still well controlled. Then the ET was very interesting because as you said it feels quite light and whippy, but it still does have good power, spin and control. Overall for me the Speed-MP is ready to go, but I would prefer to get an ET and, as you mentioned, add a few grams of lead to the hoop and it could be perfect.

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  2 года назад +2

      I like the ET but there's something that bothers me a bit, I don't have a solid feeling, like the racquet is a bit hollow and too light. I'm going to search for something else.I'd like to try : Babolat Pure Aero VS, Head prestige MP L, Yonex VCore 98, Head Radical MP.

    • @oliverdesouza5741
      @oliverdesouza5741 2 года назад

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 I concur. Sometimes the ET handle area felt more hollow than usual, weirdly. Anyway, if you want a more solid feel, as I mention below you should definitely try the Dunlop CX200 (98). It's also interesting because the specs say 21.5mm beam, but I have measured it to be more like 21mm and the graphite thus feels a bit more solid in my experience. Try it in a grip size too small because the Dunlop grip comes up a bit large. I found it to be a good 'all-round' racket: nothing was amazing, but nothing was bad either.

    Hi! I'm an intermediate player currently using a Babolat Pure Aero, hit with a lot of topspin (coming from table tennis) and find the racquet is not very arm-friendly and also a bit too much of a rocket. I've been considering making the switch to the Head Extreme line, given it's a spin-oriented racquet but with a little bit more comfort, and depending on the specific racquet, control. Would you recommend the Head Extreme MP or the Head Extreme Tour?

    • @team-tennisenglish1514

I have been playing with it for a month and my elbow started to hurt, although there were no such problems with my previous racket wilson blade. I felt that Extreme tour is not enough dampened and it seems this is the reason for the pain in the elbow.

    Nice review!! However I don't agree with how you ranked it in terms of power. I come from the Babolat Pure Strike 98 16x19 (2nd gen), and I find this Head Extreme Tour provides way less power and a much lower launch angle. For a 16x19, the string pattern is quite dense, specially in the center. I agree that it needs some customization, I added 6 grams of lead at 3 & 9 and I think the racket improved substantially.

    With regard to stability, how do you find this racquet against the 2020 Yonex Ezone 98, 2021 VCore 98, Pure Drive VS, and Radical MP (Orange)?
    In my test, I didn't find the power to be as high as my 2018 Yonex Ezone 98 either. That could be the string? I am testing racquets against my Ezone 98. I like the above, any other you would suggest for similar control, possibly a little bit more free power/spin?

      Stability correct, close to the radical MP I think, but not crazy because feels light, at least the racquet I had for the demo. Maybe you have more power with Ezone 98 because of the higher swingweight and the balance point more towards the head.
