I loved the side shuffle using the blade. Grader blades may not be as big as a dozer's blades, but the advantage of being able to adjust the blade in so many ways is really cool.
I choose to think this was filmed in a magical land where graders are super common and cheap, and elves do the scheduled maintenance for free. Because, therwise, given the hourly operating cost of a grader, including upkeep... he just built a bit of track three times as slowly, at about three times the expense, and with way more danger than if he had hired the right machine first and then used the grader to finish and dress the surface

If you had a minute of seat time you would know that this is A. not how you use/treat a grader and B. the wrong tool for the job. They brought a ginsu knife to drive a nail. Besides, that road will be washed out again with a couple good storms. I can appreciate your lack of experience though😁✌
Nice skill with the grader, I would have used something besides tree roots and bushes in the backfill, keep this guy around as this road will require regular maintenance.

That’s incredible, I really wonder how the operator working reverse can see what he is doing and especially what’s happening at his rear blade, obviously he has no view at all. Even with a cam I don’t think it would be possible to tell what’s happening at the blade
When he blows the machines clutches out he'll regret doing this like he did. I'm very surprised at his persistence in beating up his equipment like this.
@@DavidHands That's all speculation. For all we know they have an easy access road for the heavy hauler to bring the equipment. Perhaps they just didn't have access to a dozer on this day. Or maybe time constraints dictated them to just resort to using the motor-grader.

After you take the barge across the Daintree River, you have to drive over a jungle mountain range that takes about 40 minutes in a car. With large trucks unable to traverse the road, a D6 would not only destroy the only road access in the area, it would take many hours just to reach the site blocking all traffic in the meantime. The guy claiming the 5 minutes is a "dozer guy" assuming the dozer is magically sitting there ready to go. If you both want to ignore the real world travel time, fine whatever. I dpend much of my time in remote areas, not suburbia.

And how many construction jobs require you to barge across a river or traverse the jungle to get to the work site? Not many, at least in the industrialized world. This particular landscape doesn't look like a jungle in any way, so your little story/point is moot. Regardless, a D6 LGP, and especially a D5, wouldn't rip up or destroy most access roads. We drive D6s of all types on access roads all the time. The only roads we typically have to avoid are ones that are finished roads or existing roads that won't be repaired/resurfaced. If it's dirt or gravel, who gives a fuck if you drive a tracked vehicle over it? All you have to do is smooth it over later on.
I don't like to be critical; however, this is a pretty silly video. It's obvious a D6 would have run circles around a blade here. Secondly, watching some repeatedly high center themself with the ripper bar is not the pinicle of skill
Kudos to the operator. Dangerous and difficult job for a grader. This needed a dozer for some clearing and rough filling, before putting the grader to work.
This operator is just awesome. The grader is the best all round piece of equipment. I never saw a grader work this hard before 🤣. You have to work with what ya have sometimes. In this case I’m guessing a dozer wasn’t nearby 🤣. Well done operator 🫡🏅
