I would LOVE to see what is possible to build with a $600-$700 budget. I have been tasked by my family to build 4 PCs at an extreme budget since they want to get into PC gaming for the first time instead of renewing/updating their consoles. I am lucky enough to have enough keyboards, mice, and even monitors to give them to keep the cost down. I know a PC at this range wont be able to do much, but it doesn't have to for what they're looking for out of gaming.

@@christopher6570 Used 6700 XT for 250, buy CPU/RAM/mainboard combo used for 200, as long as it's AM4 and a minimum 6 Zen 2 cores and 32GB of RAM it's fine, but if you're lucky you might be able and find a 3700X upgrade set for that money. Go to a recycling centre and pick up a discarded ATX PC, toss all the parts out, Dremel out any obstruction for the GPU if needed, and put in a 500W 80+ Gold PSU and a 1TB SATA SSD and you're done for 550 dollars and still have budget left to buy a second hand 4K monitor with.

He has a "best ryzen 5 7600 build" video. I wouldn't get a 7900 or 4080 and up gpu since with cpu will bottle neck it. I know this because I've had it.😊

@jesperburns sorry this is late. I was getting really low fps on warzone with a 7600x and 7900xtx @ 1440p. My 3070 and i5 10th gen was getting similar performance. I swapped out the 7600x for a 7800x3d and my frames jumped dramatically. Over 200fps.

Black Friday came at a great time for me. My friend wanted to upgrade his 10-year-old platform (i5 4670), so I sold him my AM4 platform and upgraded to AM5. While I didn't use your video for reference, I knew exactly what I wanted to put in. I went with a 7600X on a MSI B650 Tomahawk Wi-Fi and 32GB of Team Group DDR5 6000 CL30 (checking the QVL for compatibility). This pairs up with my 3070 Ti (which I want to upgrade because low VRAM), the EVGA 360 CLC AIO that I bought from Canada Computers for $100 CAD ($70 USD), and the Phanteks Eclipse P500a. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with how my computer runs and looks. It's a very clean, moderate aesthetic, with minimal RGB accents.

The ASROCK motherboard here is 260 euros, so more expensive than the MSI Tomahawk's 257 euros. So was wondering if it's more worth to take the MSI instead.

A lot of good information. I recently rebuilt my rig inside a Cooler Master 520 Mesh Blackout, chose the R5 7600X due to being extremely close in price where I live on a B650 Tomahawk WiFi and bought an NZXT Kraken 360 AIO to cool it, mostly for a future upgrade. Kept my older RX 6800 16GB GPU from my previous build. I'll be waiting another GPU generation since I currently play at 1440p on PC, and on current and older games the RX 6800 is more than good enough. My RAM is the Kingston Fury 32GB DDR5 5600MT/s CL36, pretty much got it because it was on sale at the time and was the most bang for the buck RAM I could get my hands on. Might buy a 64GB kit later down the line if I need it.

You wasted so much money on the motherboard and AIO that you could have gotten a 7700 instead but with an A620 board and a cheap but sufficient AliExpress air cooler. And that thought of 64GB RAM also makes no sense.

    • @TopHatCat1989

@@classicallpvault8251 I'm assuming you're talking US prices. I live in Norway, where VAT is 25% and availability of parts is a little more difficult to come by. I don't trust AliExpress as far as I can throw them, and I chose the MSI B650 Tomahawk mostly because I had the B450 Tomahawk in the past, it was a platform I was familiar with, and I wanted to do some overclocking. The 7600X was not too much more expensive, only the equivalent of roughly 20$ more, and I went overkill on the cooler for peace of mind. Regarding the 64GB of RAM, that was more for modded games like Cities Skylines, which I can tell ya was hungry for RAM, I nearly maxed out my original 32GB of DDR4 RAM a few times.

Hi Jason, based on this video I managed to get all components and fixed everything together however I do have some comments and 1 question for you.
    1. It is my first build ever so it was overwhelming and made a lot of mistakes.
    2. The 7800xt fits but I had to take away the CPU cooler to make room for maneuver.
    3. The cooler I opted for is the Phantom Spirit which is a monster. When you look at it outside of the case, I like it, but: a) it is TOO BIG for this case, b) the outer fan must sit upward to provide 1-2mm space to the RAM as it will hit instead and c) the RAM RGB is obstructed by the cooler.
Question: I don't like it inside and although is still brand new, I am thinking of changing it to a Deepcool AG500 (or similar in size) or go for the LS520 liquid cool as I still need to purchase 2 fans for the top part of the case.
    What do you recommend?
    Thanks :)

Best time to build a new PC in a while especially if going AMD CPU and GPU. New socket that will let you upgrade your CPU for a long time plus good price/performance GPUs which now also finally have good performance in those creative apps (7000 series) if you need that. Even though my 12th gen Intel build was solid value at the time and will still work fine for a bit longer, I almost wish I went AMD CPU, because they seem to be a lot more consumer friendly than Intel especially with some recent decisions.

That's why I didn't recommend it in the video (would be fine with a PSU shroud that doesn't have a cutout). That cougar case looks good, but just haven't seen any reviews of it or used it.

I've been in the market (aka saving) for a build like this for quite a while and glad to see it's becoming much more affordable-- how would this budget build do with ray tracing, I wonder? Ray tracing seems to still be a luxury that you've got to buck up a little bit more for at this point, or am I reading that wrong? Would the "less budget friendly" build in this vid handle it much better?

For games that turn on Ray Tracing by default, the 7800 XT does "fine". For Ray Tracing Enthusiasts, the issue with the 4070 & rumored 4070 super is the 12GB VRAM on a couple of games but I feel like it is foreshadowing issues in the future. I'd jump up to the 4070 Ti Super 16GB when it launches next year if Ray tracing is really important to you.

Jason, thanks for the great video. Do you happen to know if Teamgroup 6000 CL30 will work on the ASUS B650 E-F Gaming Wifi? I bought the MOBO but the lowest latency on the QVL list is CL32 at that speed. I just want a professional opinion before I buy. Thanks in advance!!

Hey Jason! Going for this exact build, torn between 7800 xt and the 7900xt , hoping 7900xt drops to 699 like it did on prime day. I was able to get an ASROCK B650E RIPTIDE WiFi for 170 bucks, thoughts on the MB choice/deal?

Per the Newegg BF ad, will be at least $709 if not cheaper. Will post the deals as they go live.

The B650 E-F costs about 250-300$ in my country so i chose the ASUS ROG STRIX B650A WIFI for 190$

I’m looking at a build voor Assetto Corsa Competizione which seems CPU heavy and would like to play on triple 1080p monitors (240Hz freesync and 0,5ms). Not sure if I should build around a 7600 or 7800X3D.

Hi Jason, I'm building a new pc and recently I've been watching your videos for info, they have been really helpful, thank you for that. I'm building a pc with this ryzen 7600 and a RX 6800, when I was looking for a PSU I searched for the MSI MPG A650GF but I saw other one with a similar name, the MSI MAG A650GL which is $10 more expensive. Is there any significan different between these two or I can choose any of them.

Both are good so go with whatever is cheaper.
The A650GL is just newer and includes a 12 pin connector for the Nvidia 4000 GPUs but since the 6800 doesn't use that having it doesn't matter.
