    Fill water through the thermostat housing, also remove thermostat to allow water to fill the cooling chambers in the engine block. I don't like to run my engines without any water in the block, it's just a precaution and I only run my engine for a few minutes then shut it off let it cool down if you need to run it again. Also check Engine oil and top up if necessary.

    Great video, but to prevent the battery from exploding always hook up the positive first, then the negative. Once the negative is connected the circuit is complete. And a switch for the starter will prevent sparking also. Just putting that out here...

    Just make sure that you run a wire from the positive terminal to the battery terminal on the hei. I used a starter switch that was wired from the positive lug on the starter solenoid to the lug at the 3 o'clock position to engage the starter. To kill the motor, just unplug the wire from the hei so the power is off.

    g'day mate, i just poured water down the top hose where the thermostat housing is. You can only run the Engine for a short period of time. if you want to run for longer periods you will have to hook up the radiator. and use and industrial fan infront of the radiator instead of the main fan blade as could injure you. also hook up a belt from the crankshaft pulley to the water pump pulley. hope this helps.

      Just drilled a hole in the fuel can cap same diameter as my fuel line which was some 8mm vacuum line tubing. i drill the hole a little smaller so its a tolerance fit, push the hose through the lid until it touches the bottom of the can. I only put about 500ml in the can and also have a Fire Extinguisher on Standby too.

    I hope all is well fam. I have a question to ask: does the fuel can have a pump inside or is it suction fed?

    • @Craftin.Clever
      @Craftin.Clever  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi there, its suction fed the mechanical pump on the side of the engine is pulling the fuel up to the carburettor. If your having trouble getting fuel to the carburettor you can gravity feed it just raise the fuel can higher than the carburettor and it will flow down. Just what ever you use as a fuel canister make sure it doesn't leak. Maybe an old motorcycle tank would work OK.

It doesn't have electronic ignition. My other engine has a Ballast resistor stops the coil from burning out I think. Just be careful not to short or burn module I've never tried to start an engine with ECU or Computer module maybe I can learn that next.👍

      James Haro no problems mate, as long as you got spark, a good battery I shouldn't see why it wouldn't kick over. unless the timing is out. I did this once when I removed the distributor and didn't put it back the same way it was out of order has to re set it to top dead centre. also make sure you got clean terminals and good battery Cable's. even the smaller wires for the coil all it takes is a bad connection and a break in the wires.
