Billy Zane is one of the most underused resources of Hollywood. I won't say under-rated because I think people recognize his talent. But herd mentality has caused everyone to back away from him.
Am I the only one that thinks Billy Zane should play Marlon Brando in a biopic? He looks as much like him as any other actor in Hollywood and I think that would really bring him back to the public eye.
I never realized it before, but Zane is absolutely a ringer for Marlon Brando! I think that he also has the chops to pull off Brando's personality and mannerisms.
I don't feel one way or another about Katherine Heigl can't say I'm a fan of her work besides Knocked Up. but I agree with this comment and also the responses to it along the lines of you "don't bite the hand that feeds you." I do think what she said about Grey's Anatomy was pretty backhanded towards the writers. But at the same time I can't help it feel like if she were a man her comments would just be chalked up to honest commentary/opinion instead of "prissy actress just bitching."
Yes but don't they say in the movie that his father is dead? I feel if they would have based the Lex character on the Justice League Unlimited cartoon (peek physical form and intellect) and had Billy Zane as the actor, the DCEU wouldn't be such a shit show.
Exactly, a human in peak physical form and genius intellect, jealous and fearful of the alien from Krypton. Billy Zane could give that smug look. Such a shame.
As much as Billy Zane would love to give up on "villain" roles I can't get him out of my head as Lex Luthor. He has all the charisma, talent and he is also kinda buff and intimidating like Lex was in justice league unlimited!
Julia Styles never wanted to be a big star. She wants to be relevant but not famous. She enjoys being in her more indie roles as she has always had more of an affinity for the mechanics of acting.
What is funny to me is that people see their onscreen time shrinking as some kind of failure. I don't ; I applaud the actor or actress who can get in make as much money as possible and then ride off into the sunset on their own terms much like a champion fighter who's prime has passed and retires on a win or with a winning record.
Jessica Alba is a good actor depending on her roles, I think it was called "they eye" she was amazing! and in tv show "Dark Angle" she was perfect for that role!
Taylor is more focused on her music and I'm glad for that because she has one hell of a vocal range. Simply beautiful and amazing. Jim's career wasn't a flop, he chose to step away and to this day, remains one of the BEST. There are people who deserve to be on this list, he is not one of them. Young people have no idea what a good career looks like. I remember when JLH was the girl everyone wanted in the 90s, and SMG was the badass girl next door. I miss the 90s...
Billy Zane's first movie that I remember was "Tomestone"He actually played a traveling actor with a few others(Dana Delaney) but was short lived cause he was shot by the bad guys in town.
My job has lead me to meet hundreds of celebrities, and Billy Zane is the nicest, coolest, most incredible chat you'll ever have with a celebrity. After this party filled with HUGE celebrities, all anybody I knew could say was, "Holy shit! I had the most incredible conversation with Billy Zane!" He's THAT kind of guy! This was around 2006, and there has yet to be a personality of note that I have met who could compare to Billy Zane.
+Eric Hicks It's more important to be famous than to be working! Any famous out-of-work actor will tell you. "Sure there are plenty of people who are working, but I'm a well-known celebrity."
There's another factor here: the careers of successful actresses generally peak at 29 or 30 and fall off quickly in their 30s. If you're talking about an actress who was famous ten years ago, you can just about automatically put her on this list with the exception of a handful of hyper-acclaimed people like Meryl Streep, Viola Davis or Angelina Jolie.
Two actors who have had a tough time getting over their previous movie role are Jason Alexander who played Stuckey in "Pretty Woman" and Terry O'Quinn who played Henry Morrison in "The Stepfather"
I actually adored Zane in that episode of Community. When I finally got my sisters to watch it with me, they both turned to me and asked whatever happened to him. I recently binged Charmed and he plays the former demon named Drake and he was perfection! It's so sad that he never got the chance he deserved. I can't help but wonder if it had something to do with his hair loss, which almost every project he ever did tried to desperately hide.
Billy Zane has charisma..You are drawn to him.. I liked him in Titanic, but also Dead Calm, and Tomb Stone..I was shocked when I saw he was bald..even bald he's hot. I would love to see him acting again..He's so good at it.
BartJ583 The title is why Hollywood won't cast these actors so no the list doesn't make sense in that aspect. If the title had said actors who no longer work in Hollywood then yeah it make sense.
Yes most of the actresses have had kids so I’d rather raise my kids than run after a role that may not be satisfying! Some of the actors are still working as well🤔 just seems like some have moved away from Holly-weird
You didn't mention Stiles in The Business of Strangers a heavy well-done psychological drama. I would of thought starring with Stockard Channing in such a critically acclaimed film would have helped her career a lot.
exactly. I don't think he gives a shit about "not getting cast." He's had HUGE success and he's over it. He doesn't need anymore money or success (to him)
Stupid list. Jim Carrey has a huge studio, house, and endless money id bet...I personally dont know anyone that dislikes Jim carrey's movies, there all good IMO, especiallty the trippier ones like truman show and spotless mind. Thats making it big, he can paint or follow his passions all he wants and survive just fine.
Billy Zane is a gorgeous Man!!! And he's a really good actor! He needs to get better roles. I remember him in Dead Calm. So handsome, and SO scary at the same time.
Like, the Kardashians? And plenty of male actors suck and are just cast because they're hot. For example, Taylor Launter, Orlando Bloom, Ashton Kutcher, and Adrian Grenier.
Actually point of it all is that after a while on the top their time kinda passed.. same as music artists, they can dominate one decade and even more but after a while, new generations are coming, new teen idols, new heartthrobs or different type music or films that become more popular and that is like that since the beginning. Thats a normal thing, artists that I loved 10 years ago that were the biggest stars at that moment or actors that made me want to go to the movies are not "it" anymore and thats a normal thing, but they still make films and music just arent that much in the spotlight.
your right Archduke, all the movies today are super hero movies and im not interested in them, in the next 2 years there is not 1 movie im going to see.

Never ever thought Dane Cook was funny. It took a while, but now everyone agrees with me.
Am I the only one that thinks Billy Zane should play Marlon Brando in a biopic? He looks as much like him as any other actor in Hollywood and I think that would really bring him back to the public eye.
Also Billy Zane should have been Lex Luthor in the DCEU
YES!
I never realized it before, but Zane is absolutely a ringer for Marlon Brando! I think that he also has the chops to pull off Brando's personality and mannerisms.
Yes, that could really work! Hadn't thought of it but sure agree.
I always thought he looked like Brando and was good on Charmed.
Zane was *excellent* in Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight.
You are officially my favorite person in the world for remembering this movie! It was awesome!
It was on last knight
yes!
Honestly, I love Julia Stiles. She's a wonderful actress, especially in The Prince and Me.
That movie was too silly to be considered good acting.
I liked her better in “Mona Lisa Smile.”
I always thought Billy Zane should have been a bigger star. He's hot and talented.
He’s a nice person too... met him once and told him the phantom was my fav movie 😄
Dead Calm! Complete psychopath. 😂 Loved it!
I always thought I’d see more of him too!
What about Memphis belle? I realy love that movie
@@island661 Yes! My favorite role of his. Stunningly gorgeous even more than Kidman (at the time).
I think Billy Zane should definitely star in many more movies.
He is an excellent actor
Billy Zane is very likeable. Totally unlike his Titanic bad guy. I would like to see him in more comedy roles. I think he has a flair for comedy.
@@abbye8482 He was great in that Cleopatra movie!
Although that wasn't a comedy.. doesn't matter.. he's a very talented actor!
@@abbye8482 I also loved him as Cupid/Cupido as a gueststar in Charmed!❤
I like billy Zane... he’s good at playing creepy and weird characters and he’s one of those easily unrecognized actors
Billy Zane is awesome I don't care what anyone says
Ikr !
Ya, I think he should have won an award for his role in Titanic. He's good in Tombstone & really scary in Dead Calm.
You should listen to Billy Zane, he's a cool guy.
He is.
I agree with you 100%...But, you don't care..LoL
Kathrine Hegel is kinda right. The female characters in knocked up really weren't likable.
Still, you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
The whole movie sucked.
She didn't except the nomination or whatever for Grey's Anatomy. I agree knocked up wasn't that good either (her charachter).
Sorry, you are right about knocked up. You can't be like that and expect roles!
Billy Zane should have been the DCEU's Lex Luthor. Such a shame Jesse Eisenberg took that role.
pill0wm4n Jesse Eisenberg plays Lex Jr.
pill0wm4n Billy Zane is awesome
Yes but don't they say in the movie that his father is dead? I feel if they would have based the Lex character on the Justice League Unlimited cartoon (peek physical form and intellect) and had Billy Zane as the actor, the DCEU wouldn't be such a shit show.
Kenny Bianchi, ferchrissake!
Exactly, a human in peak physical form and genius intellect, jealous and fearful of the alien from Krypton. Billy Zane could give that smug look. Such a shame.
Don't think Jim Carey belongs on that list..
Billy Zane has always been one of my favorites:)
DEAD CALM!!!
schizophrenia
Cheryl Hock yeah hes amazing in Triangle, super underrated actor
hera Taite l
Love Billy Zane! ...what a talented gorgeous man!
As much as Billy Zane would love to give up on "villain" roles I can't get him out of my head as Lex Luthor. He has all the charisma, talent and he is also kinda buff and intimidating like Lex was in justice league unlimited!
I agree. He definitely would of been a better Luthor than Jessie freaking Eisenberg. Totally miscast.
Billy Zane has a ton of range and could still be huge. Just needs the right break. Definitely a bad guy would suit him
i'd love to see him on American horror story
You didn't mention Julia Stiles great work on Save The Last Dance.
Exactly what I was thinking. One of my favorite movies!
And also the Prince & Me!
I love that movie
“Heavy On the special effects like Horton Hears A Who...
Um.... HORTON HEARS A WHO IS AN ANIMATED FEATURE!!
Hollywood won't cast these actors anymore because they don't want to be sexual harassed or assaulted by movie moguls, film directors, and agents.
More like they are too old.. and younger hotter women exist.
Julia Styles never wanted to be a big star. She wants to be relevant but not famous. She enjoys being in her more indie roles as she has always had more of an affinity for the mechanics of acting.
thatdamnstarship She was terrific in Silver Linings Playbook.
I remember Billy Zane from Demon Knight. If you havent seen it stop reading this and go watch it. Dude needs to make a comeback.
First movie I remember seeing him in. Apparently he was in Back to the Future. Loved Demon Knight!
What is funny to me is that people see their onscreen time shrinking as some kind of failure. I don't ; I applaud the actor or actress who can get in make as much money as possible and then ride off into the sunset on their own terms much like a champion fighter who's prime has passed and retires on a win or with a winning record.
Gabriel Nunez Heck, one film with the million-dollar payoff would be enough for me.
Like Jim Carey he chooses to be retired and they’re acting like he can’t get work
Tom Welling!!!!
I'd forgotten about him.
He was such a babe
Had a crush on him during my my mid teens.
He's on Lucifer. And he went through a divorce. Maybe he needed a break after ten years on Smallville.
Dani derkukuk und der esel
Billy's back! We'll see more to come with him and I'm super glad! 😃
Billy Zane bald looks like the perfect Lex Luthor.
He does
@ZULU MATUBU - and you're even more of a bum for saying so.
Jessica Alba is a good actor depending on her roles, I think it was called "they eye" she was amazing! and in tv show "Dark Angle" she was perfect for that role!
She has honest brand
She's super 🔥 HOT!!!
She's a billionaire. She doesn't need hollywood.
Jessica Alba is so pretty. Dark Angel was a good show too.
Would like to see Billy Zane as Lex luthor.
Yes he's perfect for the role
he's not just perfect for the role, he was BORN for it
Julia Stiles did an amazing job
in a story arc on Dexter.
not great research if you are
overlooking this kind of work
Billy Zane had cameo in the movie Poetic Justice. It was funny.
Billy Zane would be a great Lex Luthor!
Hmmmmm......
excuse me but Jennifer Love Hewitt was on season 12 of Criminal minds as a regular and she just got cast on Fox show 9-1-1
0_0 She, Jessica Alba, and Christina Ricci are still the hottest living women.
This video was uploaded in October of last year. I'm not 100% sure if 9-1-1 was even announced then.
@@christobanistan8887 Then pics of JLH's cold sores came out like Katie Holmes' which was mean and sad.
Jennifer was a great actress better than your calculation on actors and actresses.these people made a chose.22
I really like Billy Zane I wish he would get some bigger roles. He was a pleasant surprise in a recent Flash Episode.
Billy Zane's first movie that I remember was "Tomestone"He actually played a traveling actor with a few others(Dana Delaney) but was short lived cause he was shot by the bad guys in town.
He was actually in "Lost Boys" before that, I think - minor role as one of the biker boys in Keifer Sutherland's Bad Vampires group:)
Bingus No he wasnt.
He was in Dead Calm , with Sam Neill and Nicole Kidman, great movie and great performance.
thehurt e whats your point?
@@bingus9119 - no. You're confusing him with Billy Wirth, a Native American actor who, admittedly, looks a lot like Billy Zane. Google it.
My job has lead me to meet hundreds of celebrities, and Billy Zane is the nicest, coolest, most incredible chat you'll ever have with a celebrity. After this party filled with HUGE celebrities, all anybody I knew could say was, "Holy shit! I had the most incredible conversation with Billy Zane!"
He's THAT kind of guy!
This was around 2006, and there has yet to be a personality of note that I have met who could compare to Billy Zane.
They make a big deal about people like jim carrey, cameron diaz.. I think they just taking hiatus because they want and actually can.
Umm more than half of them are still working guys!
Meli Doe they are but know one knows it
Joe Collas ah yet I do so at least 1 maybe 2 know lol
+Eric Hicks It's more important to be famous than to be working! Any famous out-of-work actor will tell you. "Sure there are plenty of people who are working, but I'm a well-known celebrity."
It does if you pay attention to the title of this video "Why Hollywood Won't Cast These 12 Actors Anymore". It seems Hollywood is still casting them.
I know well! I know these lists are for fun, but they would be even better if they done them accurately!
Megan Fox, Rose McGowan and Aaron Eckhart should have made the list.
Nicki think she slick, doing the same stuff but with a different title. Girllll
Angelina Jolie? Seriously?
Two actors who have had a tough time getting over their previous movie role are Jason Alexander who played Stuckey in "Pretty Woman" and Terry O'Quinn who played Henry Morrison in "The Stepfather"
Jessica Alba didn't need to act anymore she has a billion dollar company. "Just being HONEST"
Tashea Debnam and repeating the vid....or you quoting?
Robert Gambelunghe
I know right. She's definitely not strapped for cash
Tashea Debnam she is extremely intelligent a d business savvy. I totally agree with you.
Tashea Debnam LoL I like what you did there.
Lies again? Shift Work Age 12
Billy Zane has charisma..You are drawn to him.. I liked him in Titanic, but also Dead Calm, and Tomb Stone..I was shocked when I saw he was bald..even bald he's hot. I would love to see him acting again..He's so good at it.
The video title seems a little missleading though if these actors aren't all trying to get roles but don't land them. Like Alba moved on.
BartJ583 The title is why Hollywood won't cast these actors so no the list doesn't make sense in that aspect. If the title had said actors who no longer work in Hollywood then yeah it make sense.
Alba is a billionaire now soo...
Yes most of the actresses have had kids so I’d rather raise my kids than run after a role that may not be satisfying! Some of the actors are still working as well🤔 just seems like some have moved away from Holly-weird
What, a RUclips title that is misleading?!? How is that possible?!?
You’re too nice... definitely misleading! Most still working, just less visible.
I have always enjoyed Billy Zane
It's his name. It's fun to say
You didn't mention Stiles in The Business of Strangers a heavy well-done psychological drama. I would of thought starring with Stockard Channing in such a critically acclaimed film would have helped her career a lot.
Jim Carrey is woke af now.
exactly. I don't think he gives a shit about "not getting cast." He's had HUGE success and he's over it. He doesn't need anymore money or success (to him)
He's been woke for a while he just recently decided to take off the mask and leave character.
Stupid list. Jim Carrey has a huge studio, house, and endless money id bet...I personally dont know anyone that dislikes Jim carrey's movies, there all good IMO, especiallty the trippier ones like truman show and spotless mind.
Thats making it big, he can paint or follow his passions all he wants and survive just fine.
never seen....bad movie?
(bad batch)
This video has been recommended to me since the day it came out and I've finally clicked on it... ARE YOU HAPPY NOW RUclips?
RUclips is not happy, CLICK MORE VIDS!!!! lolz 😈
Bree Bennett
i just saw it in my recommended and idk why lmao
Billy Zane is a gorgeous Man!!! And he's a really good actor! He needs to get better roles. I remember him in Dead Calm. So handsome, and SO scary at the same time.
Have your eyes checked fool he looks like George Costanza
It's too bad Billy Zane doesn't have much good movies. He's a great actor!
@ZULU MATUBU lol! XD
He is really good in everything I've seen him in, and I love all of the movies/shows.
Lets be honest. Jessica Alba made it cause shes hot and knew how to use it. No other reason.
TheDrunkHamster all of these celebrities are woth $10+ million each, and Jessica Alba is worth $300+ million!! What it the point of this vid lol
Like, the Kardashians? And plenty of male actors suck and are just cast because they're hot. For example, Taylor Launter, Orlando Bloom, Ashton Kutcher, and Adrian Grenier.
I love Billy Zane. Too bad Hollywood don't. He is gorgeous and in my opinion a pretty good actor.
I will always love Jim Carey as an actor he was awesome. He also seemed like an amazing guy to get to know.
Billy Zane was excellent in "Guilt" but typically an american TV company cancels another great show.
Hollywood is messed up!!These actors exceed by far compared to what they have today BUDGET ACTORS .
New fans who want to follow stars of their own generation instead of their parents.
What about Samuel Jackson rdj, brap pitt, Tom cruise, Jason Bateman, Ben affleck matt damon and I could go on on
Will Smith, Jamie foxx
exactly. some people are just trends, and some are “classics” that will always be good.
Billy zane makes good villains.
He was great in demon knight
He was pretty good in Kingdom Hearts as well. Shame he was only in the first one.
He was.
I absolutely loved him in Demon Knight. He played well opposite William Sadler. I think I'm one of the few people who loved him in The Phantom. I will proudly admit that. He also has had fun playing himself in the Zoolander movies.
zanechaos demon knight was my favorite my oldest sons middle name is Zane because of that movie lol
I first saw him in Dead Calm and he made a great villain in that.
Billy Zane always reminded me ever so slightly of Yul Brynner.
Most definitely
I like Billy Zane's acting a lot
They neglected to mention this year Julia styles had a leading role on the tv show Riviera.
Yuuki Shiraz and the kings men
P.S. Riviera is total garbage TV.
Yuuki Shiraz - And the fact that she was on a season of the hit show Dexter was a good career move.
No mention of her Dexter role either
(She's not that good of an actress anymore since she got older)
Billy zane in tales from the crypt demon knight was awesome
I love Jennifer love Hewitt, shes beautiful amd a good actress.
