Jan 14 2019 - my first comment here was 11 years ago, the 2nd one 6 years ago. This is the 3rd one. Be back in 10 years
I just scrolled down and saw my comment from 10 years ago. Almost made me cry. Jesus fucking christ where the fuck did the time go.
God willing .As Billy Graham said" No one knows weather or not they will be alive tommorow "
Its that time again
Dude has the soul of an African Warrior playing his battle drums
this drummer is the best I have ever listened to, and I have been involved in drumming for 50 years. Well done sir. Total commitment
The guy has smashed breaks out of those drums so hard and fast there are literally plastic granules and dust on the floor. Impressive shit!
He still plays in the Union Square Station as of today. Sometimes with that lady (possibly his wife) and even his son.
Wow really? Man.. I need this guy to be ultra famous. He's been doing this for so long.
let there be no question, larry wright is an absolute boss. he is by far the most talented drummer to play ever the NYC streets, there is no one quite like him. as a drummer of almost 3 decades, I am constantly in complete awe of his unbelievably outrageous talents. larry wright is the bucket king of the world.
WOW this is seriously amazing talent!!!!!
Boy got that tribal riddim ...fucking brilliant
RUclips ALGORITHM I CALL UPON THEE TO PUT THIS IN EVERYONE'S RECOMMENDED.
Larry Wright is consistently credited as the original (and still the
best and most famous) bucket drummer. Since the 1970s, Larry has
appeared in numerous movies, music videos, television shows and
commercials, and a Tony-award winning Broadway musical (Bring Da Noise
Bring Da Funk) that was built around Larry Wright and his talents, and
now you can check out Larry’s first and only album at
itunes.apple.com/us/album/bucket-drums-street-musicians/id1059232658
with
a band of musicians including RobOnBass and Lock and Adam Power, an
album that received international critical acclaim, from Guitar for the
Practicing Musician Magazine that described it as a "model of
musicianship", Modern Drummer Magazine said “This album is a primer on
how musicians might collaborate in a perfect world”, Bass Magazine
(Japan) exclaimed “An
unparalleled performance that will leave you awestruck, RobOnBass is a
virtuoso on the bass”, Bass Frontiers Magazine offered “Robert Turley
(a.k.a. RobOnBass) is a very gifted musician, the album features great
cover tunes as well as some
outstanding original compositions, every song is entertaining and
strong”, Guitar World Magazine shouted “a jazz/hip hop fusion with heavy
funky beats!”, and URB Magazine trumpeted “Innovative!”, and of the
cover songs Bass Player Magazine wrote “Great arrangements of great
songs”, and of the original songs,
Guitar Player Magazine declared “Tough, Funky & Fluent…R.O.B.’s
original compositions are very unusual and exciting, feature uncanny
two-handed independence, and expand the bass’ scope”.
THE ORIGINAL subway bucket drummer!!!!
NYC!!!!!!!!!!
Simply the best watched this and others of his years ago, over the years no one can match him, his sense of rythem is second to none
I've had the pleasure (though pleasure seems like an understatement for something so invigorating and amazing) of seeing him live before, but later I've been thinking, does he just improvise and make up these beats up as he goes along or what?
He's phenomenal though, and despite seeing him in summer when it's stifling hot in the subway stations, it was very tempting not to get on the subway when it came, as I really just wanted to stay and watch him for hours!
Is he still there in 2021?
Haha, I am not kidding -- everyday when I come home, or are at school I listen to Larry Wright here at youtube. Instead of all famous artists' music that contains so many different instruments and, or singing, I choose Larry Wrights "wild" drumming, damn! I can't dance or whatsoever but his drumming makes you unable to sit still!
at 1:40 the beat reminds me of my mexican family parties hahaha this guy is still amazing i remember seeing his first video 10 years ago
This didn't pop in my recommendations. I searched for this. Good to be back.
and the girls just filling in a couple of beats ..lol
Awesome old school Drumming Video. Glad to came back.
*When you record from far cus you don't wanna donate to the performers..*
So cool, you know me that well !
+Kim Hannah Music that's fucked up
@@KimHannahMusic Were they wrong though?
I can only imagine the dedication to reach that skill and blazing speed level as well as the musicality he has and nutrition he must have to be able to play at that speed for that long requires alot of endurance and a healthy person and judging by the look of him he definately works out and gets his protein in. . Awesome drummer here !
Such talent with just a couple of buckets and drumsticks.
Keep up the good work young man.
amazing!!! I was fortunate enough to see him on a trip to New York a while back! and I just stood there in total amazement!! He is THE most talented person on face of this earth! just pure talent! love him!
Let's thank the real hero! The man or woman that recorded this and uploaded it for all of us!
Thank you:)
Savage. He's a savage!! World class drumming. I hope to see him play some day. Clearly a lifes work dedicated to drumming.
Larry you are the man....best wishes from the U.K.
simply awesome. Best drumm performance that i've ever seen.
Keep doing what your doing, let the haters hate, you have a gift and drummers will agree
I was so blessed to have seen this guy live while I was in NYC. Hopefully when I permanetly move there, I'll see him again. I didn't know he was so well known, when I first saw him, all I knew was I was enchanted and he was hands down the best, most talented, and entertaining drummer I had ever seen in my 17 years of life!
man, I NEVER get tired of seeing this cat! I gotta meet this dude in person...goodness he's a monster!
I love this guy. Best dollar I ever spent. Love the facial expressions.
Larry, you are like a force of nature. I don't know how generous the people of NYC are but someone with your talent would be generously appreciated in Melbourne, Australia. Please bring your wife for a working holiday and find out.
He loves what he does best...I like it man....keep it up...
There are some truly talented people in this world! Gawd, I love the subway!!!
Someone give this guy a contract! Brilliant :)
No instruments u can buy like guitar or anything else just pure talent!
Wow they ROCK!! Are those really buckets?! MAN!! They ARE great!!
I would pay to watch this. no lie. They are simply amazing
Ok, this like the 1000:th time I watch Larry Wright and it's still as good as the 1:st time I watched it, no it's EVEN BETTER!OMG! THIS IS SICK, IT DRIVES YOU CRAZY! Gives energy like LSDx1000! I MISS WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS!
Brilliant.Wonderful, do it now stuff and so fluid movin between all these different rhythms.Funky as get out.
I went and bought new awesome loudspeakers just to listen to this as HIGH as possible!!! Larry Wright, RoCkS!!!
saw this video 4 years ago. I back again today and still love it.
Here I am 9 years later from the above comment, June 2021. Will be back in 9 years.
this guy has to have the fastest drumming hands i have ever seen. absolute nutter!!!
Those are great street drummers. Usually I run into really poor ones in NYC subways. These guys deserve the money.
One of my favourite viral videos ever. It's one thing having such an incredible talent, but having such humble roots makes it even more special.
brilliant passion in the beats. proves true music comes from the heart and soul!
wow... this still blows me away after watching a few times....
This is the best bucket drumming I've seen on RUclips! Great stuff.
whole thing is amazing. Fucking fantastic. this guy prooves so much
the whole world is a drum kit, and REAL live music still exists, its just finding it.
Brilliant.
Absolutely amazing! I give you a thousand stars. Talent!!!!!! And those drums are real. Respect!
i saw bucket drummers on 3rd st. santa monica and looked up here on youtube. this guy TOTALLY took things to the next level! that tribal dark beat was so badass! it's amazing how he manipulates such distinct sounds from simple things. this guy rocks!
Incredible, I been a professional guitar player for 24 years, I dont live in USA, but its very rare to find this kind of talent, goverment should give them a full music scholarship, WOW.
When the beats are so good you remember his name after all these years
amazing. i love the tonality of their different buckets.
Without a doubt. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen in my life.
If he played on a same drum set as Neil Peart, well, he would blow our brains out with that creativity. In case he allready didn't.
Simply amazing.
I take the 42 subway every day and these two are always down in the NWR line, and always amazing, his partner is just as good as he is
UNBELIEVABLE! ... that no one is stopping for this! ... must suck to be in such a hurry to get to work ;)
absolutely. amazing. I want to find this guy, I love watching NYC subway performers. It makes my day when I catch them!
Wow!
When he starts going crazy fast, it looks like he's just about ready to explode.
Amazing beats...
Dude, usually, when someone spasses out, they go off beat uncontrollably, but when this guy does, he actually keeps the rhythm going. nice fast technique btw.
I see them all the time, they are amazing!
Larry is the KING of rhythm and watching him live would be mind-blowing! this my type of Larry King Live!
I fell down the RUclips wormhole coming from a book where they mentioned Levi's 501 Advertising, and the book is from 1991 (I was born in '91 so I was like woah cool, never saw one of those ads or dont remember). Anyway, I went and searched "Levi's 501 1990" and went through videos and saw one of this guy "Larry Wright", who in the video was young asf. Someone in some comments on another video said he died but now seeing him here is incredible, and the video is from 2006. Surprised I haven't had it recommended to me with all these old videos from the start of RUclips now showing up in everyone's feeds. So dope
he is amazing!!!
so strong!!! it's REALLY FANTASTIC!!!!!
This guy was a born drummer. The best there is.
From Morocco Africa just amazed! Hassan says CHAPEAU to you guys!
straight NASTY!! killin it right there! from one drummer to another, I bow for ya! hope to see it in person some time when I hit NYC
this guy is drumming in a subway on plastic buckets, yet it's better sounding than the music you hear on the radio nowadays
rainerunique i have to thank you for uploading this video, if it wasn;t for you i would never seen this awsome guy, it must be the only reason i woud go to america, just to see this guy
This young man is AMAZING !!! Creator gave him a gift.. and he sho knows how to use it !! Good Luck and God Bless you Larry !!! Thank you for giving strangers in a subway such joy !! :o)
he's not begging for money, he's just doing it as an artistic thing
This man always makes me happy. I love drums and he can play very good. I've saw some videos where he played, but i want more and more and more..... :)
what an indredible drummer !!! ooh my god i love it !!
incredible stuff.....i love that »less is more« attitude with the equipment.
this reminds me of the time my 6th grade techer was actually nice for once.
A band who played music on buckets and stuff (like in the video) came to our school, but people in our grade weren't supposed to see it. My techer let us see it anyways.
Good stuff.
stunningly good! incredible talent.
whoooohhhooo niceee mann you rock.... loved it....
Very very creative young guys........
Wow love it! That's what I'm talking about!
The unique, the one Mr Larry Wright !
WOW This man got talent and fu**ng ENERGY!!!!
He really deserves to be a on a stage!
i love this! saw them on my train stop & i was in awe true talent right there!
Merci Eric pour le partage ! C'est un truc de fou ! Excellent !
I don't even think he should go proffesional. He's good enough to be in a the top band, but bringing music to places where people don't have to pay is great. Bring music to the world where it needs to be is a gift that needs to be cherished.
i love the city... so much entertainment... i love these guys because it's not about the mone... it's the passion...
the first beat was like reggae calypso, i loooove it. i am jamming to this man!!
great beat the best is when he kicks up the paint cans wonderful beat good job
WOOOhhhaaa!! i just made that word up because there are no words to describe this!!
Larry Wrock!!
Absolutely outstanding ! Brilliant, loved it !
This is the most awsome thing i've eva seen in ma whole life, this is cool as hell
Wow... Just fantastic!
That's the most amazing thing I've ever heard. Very inspiring.
Always wanted to learn how to do that wish he would teach me
Larry Wright is a part of music history!! He's just not mainstream like everyone else the has hit it big time. I'm sure this dude gets plenty of people trying to make money off of him and has offered him music deals.
Daaaaamn good !! They deserve to be drumstars!
Awesome!!!! I love it!!!!!
I really don't get why you would dislike something like this
people just walking by like nothing is happening.
that right there is the spirit of music and art.
it shows that you dont have to use the standard instrument to produce something that is amazing
Completely amazing! This is for real! A lot of drummers should take lessons from this dude! He is perfect!
Yo son is doing it!!!!!!
Much respect to dude. he been doing this for years.
