I tried a version of this tonight (I went ahead and worked with what I had in store). It was delicious. I had three plates (maybe more). I can't wait to try this again with all the right ingredients!
Thanks for this video! I'm Mexican and we make arroz con pollo but obviously we all have different ways of making it so ima try the Dominican way. I been wanting to try other Latin foods!
At this point "It's me Julissa" should have a new name because we are loving her Aunt here. This the the Dominican version to Jeannie and Mama Mai. (Vietnamese)
Look at Ms. Julissa!!! ❤❤ Ms. Tia's food looks super amazing!!!! Interesting, thats how i was taught to brown chicken belizean style as well gotta make this asap!!!!
Can we get more guests cooking classic Dominican recipes??I've never had Dominican food before and now I might just try my hand at cooking this!! Your tía throws DOWWWN!!That looked delicioso!!!
I love you Jul so much more now, I relate and also I see what a wonderful lady you are, your aunt reminded me of my own mom lol food looks delicious, also the 3 golpes I didn’t know how it was made never even looked but now I do thanks yo you all. Best wishes and many blessings 🙏❤️
TIA! You are one beautiful AND gorgeous woman!!! Those sparkling eyes! I loved this video and I'm on my way to buy the ingredients to make your ACP! Julissa, you are blessed! Thanks for the vid!
A lot of watching bigger name chefs showcasing Mexican food brought me here. Being a gringo from Texas with just a diehard love for native foods in these lands, and now I’m learning about Dominican. Thanks for the further education on a food culture I really appreciate. Something sat with me from this…”common sense and eyeballs” stealing that for measuring food lol
I think a “Cooking with Carmen” segment is in order. She throws that true island shade just like my mom lol. She had me cracking up with her “Hello” in the beginning.
First time finding your Vlog…love Tia Carmen’s Arroz con Pollo recipe….can you write the recipe, please it would be helpful. 🤩I can hardly wait to try it…¡buen provecho!❤
"Are you going to eat because I never see you eat the food you cook" lol I just told my mom this the other day about my aunt. Such a great cooking video.
Julissa! Your Tia started without you. Lol The show was about to be called It's Me Tia Carmen! Yeah I have a hard time cooking little amounts. I'm gonna need to hit up Amazon for the Dominican Oregano. There is only 1 Dominican restaurant in San Diego. I don't think that COVID, nope looked it up I think COVID took it! It was so good. Unless it's Uncle Ben or that Ready Rice, you always wash your rice. I love cilantro. The more the better. Agreed! The way to my heart is through my stomach. I can't wait to make this.
So nice. Your Tia reminds me of my mom. She speaks her mind but my mom throws a couple of bad words in there. All countries make it different I have to try it this way. Tia need her own channel 😊
In Ghana this dish is called jollof rice ! And the crispy rice is called “kanzo” !! People in Ghana ask for it when buying jollof rice and it comes at an extra cost . Reference to the kanzo

@@Evagam All our foods are basically the same; rice, frijoles & some protein in some type of sauce (guiso). The 'sofrito" or "sazon" varies a bit in Latin America & the Caribbean, but it's all practically the same.
