FYI, the Baby Food Processor is 25% OFF today only, they wanted me to let ya'll know -
amzn.to/2pyffUG
LET ME KNOW -
What do you think of my choices? Would you have chosen something different?
I'm sure this won't be the last of my friends to have a baby so I'd love to know.
Shelbizleee what are some good cloth diapers ? My sister is having a baby and she wants to do cloth diapers.
I bought my brother and sister one of these (different brand) for my nephew. It even came with storage containers. They absolutely love it. They grow items in their garden then put it in processor.
I have one for my son, saves money, I know what's in the food, no added preservatives or excess salts and sugars :)
bingaling5 when I was nannying my nanny family used Alvababy diapers. They have the absorbent part that snaps on the cover the cover doesn’t even need to be machine dried, and the liners only take a couple hours in the sun to be line dried (which helps get rid of the stains too with sun bleaching!). I found them very simple to use as a first time full-time diapering person, let alone first time cloth diaper user! Other advice-get a diaper sprayer. Sticky poos are hard to scrape off and even though breast milk poos are water soluble, the thought of putting a ton of poo in a washing machine was gross to me.
The bottle for a lifetime is beyond cool!
when my little sister was a baby & i was in third grade, my mom kept all her baby food jars as spice jars and when we had too many spice jars, she collected them for a month and donated them to my class so we could make butter as a science experiment lol crazy to think it’s been 13 years since then and I still remember showing up to school with all those jars
Wow! I`m actually crying over those bottles. It makes me so happy, that they even think about the use of their product when the baby grows up, it`s amazing.
I try to make a blanket for upcoming babies. Circular crochet patterns can easily be expanded when the child grows (if they know how) and I’ve had a quilt my great-grandmother made me... 20+ years ago? Made a quilt for my best friend’s niece a few years ago (now 10yrs old) and she loves telling me that she still uses it every night on her bed. :,)
I am so excited you did the video because I’m pregnant and I’ve been looking for eco friendly or zero waste baby products! I’m totally going to check these out!
Fairly Local Vegan and Ellen Fisher have videos on minimalist and low/zero waste baby stuff.
Update?
I have to admit..I never fed my babies "baby food". I fed them squishy things..squished up. I never really understood jarred baby food. Its really expensive and the jars are super small. Is there a difference between a baby food processor and a regular one? OK..those baby food bags with the nozzle are sort of cool but I have beef with those. It's delaying teaching babies how to use utensils and therefore hindering their fine motor skill development. Love those bottles!
I have to agree with this comment 100%. There really no such thing as baby food. Babies pretty much eat what I eat, just a little mushier. If your friend likes to cook she probably already has a food processor and can just use that is she feels like making her own. A baby food processor is just a thing, that companies make new families think they need and really don't. I have to check out the bottles, I hope they have "adult" interchangeable tops. I have so many bottles and it would be better to have different tops for one bottle. Love your videos keep them coming. xxoo
I have a baby food processor and a regular one, there's not really a difference. I have my own for smoothies, sauces and stuff. My son has his own for his food, I just didn't want to mix our stuff, so he recieved his own, we have the baby bullet. I have a ninja bullet.
Works pretty much the same
Mrs. Gutierrez Thanks. I was wondering about that. My kids are way past the baby food stage now. It’s interesting to see what products are out there now as opposed to 10 years ago.
faeriesmak I bought a baby bullet and just made all my kids their own baby food because it's cheaper that way and I had these small Tupperware cups that were like 4 oz and I just kept reusing them till they were no longer needed or broke and u can freeze home made baby food up to 2 months
I have a baby bullet. Got it when my for 4year old was born. I now use my bullet for all of us. Even comes with those blades for turning seeds and such into a flour
Yes to the reusable pouches 🙌
I teach at a preschool so I see A LOT of those silly disposable pouches go to waste. Mad props to the parents who use the refillable options.
"304 stainless steel" That was so cool that you know that. Beyond amazing!
Holly crap! those baby bottles are EPIC. Those are the only bottle we will be buying ever!
The bottle is such a good idea. It would be so precious for a teenager to still use the bottle they have been using since a baby.
About the bottle - I also found the “mason jar bottle” that converts any mason jar into a baby bottle. I think that’s also really cool and something I’m looking forward to.
Cloth wipes are awesome, it saves money on throw away wipes. It’s easier than cloth diapers imo.
I have these and love them. The flexible cover on the outside helps keep my toddler from getting cold hands when I fill it with a cold drink. They hold up so well.
Hey girl, about the diapers she can look into getting biodegradable ones. They are usually a little more expensive but definitely worth it for the environment.
I will definitely tell her to keep an eye out for those (:
Honest is a good brand :)
Also if she makes a baby registry at target she'll get a bag full of coupons and samples and theirs a $25 off $50 or more on all honest products coupons which you can combine with targets gift card promos and cartwheel and red card
We liked Earth's Best, Naty is good too, but sometimes it tends to leak.
Now I'm obsessing over Pura!
Those bottles are AMAZING!!!!!!! I have never heard of them I always get life factory bottles for gifts but I am getting these now!!!!
Those bottles are so cool! It's really neat that they'd promote continued use with their products. So much stuff today os single use.
What I think as quite new mom (11 months old baby):
- bottles - great, 100% hit!
- brush - nice, but I haven't any at home and I can live without it perfectly good
- pouches - I would consider using it ocasionally, quite interesing but not a necessity
- food processor - absolutely unnecessary - if you eat prepared at home from scratch food it's easy to do a portion for a baby (ok, if you eat processed food my advice it's pointless); and not every baby likes blended food ;)
My tips:
- some books on topics like baby physical and emotional development, natural care, maybe baby led weaning (love this!); I know also a book about "non cost baby care" but it's by italian writer, don't know if it's available in USA
- some basic natural baby care products or cleaning products (like every purpose eco cleaner)
- for those who will use disposable diapers some more eco-friendly version- for those parents diapers are always a good gift bc you go throug them so so fast.
Agnieszka Pilot All babies are different, I wanted to do baby led weaning but my daughter has decided she will only eat purees. Fed is best, so I got a few jars to try when finger foods just weren't happening, and then got a system for making them at home. At one year she is starting to eat some solids, but without purees she'd just nurse forever!
I'm due in August and I'm definitely investing in those bottles !! Thank you!!
Did you end up getting the bottles and if so how does your baby like it?
Those bottles are awesome. My partner and i don't want children but i will keep this in mind if friends etc do, thanks for sharing.
Great video! I have seen similar bottles like this for when adults go camping and use Thermoses.
thanks! My sister is expecting these are awesome! I don't really live a sustainable life. But the more I watch your videos, the more motivated I am. I too have a son and both of these are not only sustainable, but there useful
Yay! Thank you so much and congrats to your sister ❤️
The baby bottles are my favorite. Used them for my kids then upgraded to the bigger sizes when they got old enough. Plus the metal hold up to being thrown and dropped
This is absolutely amazing Shelbie! I especially loved the bottle...and how stoked it made you. I'm going to have to get some of these for my friend and her new baby. 😍
LOL I'm a geek for sustainable products. Thank you so much, I hope she loves them as much as I do.
Hi Shelbi!! THANK YOU so much for this video! All the products were completely amazing!!! I´m definitely sharing them and using them in the future! Thanks again all your work is incredible!!
Those bottles are so cool! My partner and I plan on fostering children, and the versatility of the tops alone definitely means that brand will go on our to-buy list!
Thank you for the wonderful suggestions! Always love your videos, Shelbizleee! I had no idea there were plastic bottle/ sippy cup alternatives. I had thought what about glass? After I learned about the toxicity of plastic. Then it only took me a minute to remember how much they would be dropped and how glass isn’t really a feasible alternative. Anyhow, thanks for sharing!
She is set! Good job! I wish I would’ve known these before my sister had kids, though she did get the baby bullet for her first and uses it all the time
OMG!!!! This bottle is something else! I’ll definitely support companies like these!💚
Wow those bottles are so cool!!! Love it 😍
I use and LOVE all of these! Those reuseable baby food pouches are great, and babies can start using them as soon as you start solids (so around 6 months). And my 3 year old still uses them. They are hard to clean though 😒 But this was a great video!
I just noticed the bird on your freedom tattoo! I love that!
Love love love the stainless steel bottle was nervous about using glass bottles so this is an amazing alternative
I like the baby food machine...great idea!❤️The pouches are cool too! I would have definitely used those!
Thank you for this video! Im going to be getting my friend the food processor for sure
I freaking love those bottles! Definitely getting those when I do have a child.
Cloth diapers aren’t worth it until the baby is 3-4 months old but it’s definitely cheaper and worth it to go on a local buy/sell/trade group. We saved hundreds of dollars that way. There’s a pouch station (infantino fresh squeeze) that was a godsend as well, I got jars of applesauce and made other food AND there is a reusable spoon attachment for the pouches, as well as reusable pouches-makes going out much easier
Thank you for this I’ve been trying to become low waste and hopefully zero waste one day. I’ve been binge watching your videos and trying to soak up all the info. I want to be a better influence for my kids because if they learn when they’re young it’s so much easier for them to continue doing it! Didn’t like the glass baby bottles so it’s so relieving to see their are other choices than plastic. You’re gorgeous by the way!!
Love this video!! It’s perfect timing since I’m starting on my registry this weekend. Thank you for the video
Yayy congratulations!
I don't even have children yet but the stainless steel bottles are a must for the future!
I'm so happy you made this video my sister is due in couple of months and those bottles look amazing! Thanks so much from the UK 😊
This is so awesome! I had never heard of the Pura company before. Super cool idea! Also, you just look really good in this video. Just really glow-y. Just really healthy. Hope life is treating you right ❤️
Awh thank you so much Myra (:
I loved this video! I have always been eco aware but You have really inspired me take it farther. I already used this brand of pouch and bottle, glad to see I made the right choice ❤️
Son has the pura bottles just got the straw spout. Best bottles ever. He’s had them for close to a yr and they’re going strong. Highly recommended 💚👌🏼
My babies are grown but I've been intrigued by how to be zero waste with a baby. Theses tips were very inspiring 🤗
Yay thank you for this video! My husband and I are trying to conceive, so this is so helpful! My sister is also five months pregnant so I’m super excited to share some of these:)
This is seriously amazing! I feel like baby stuff in general is just so wasteful, but this list is GOLD!!
I'm not thinking about having a kid but I really loved this products!
Your best friend is going to have to share you now because I'm loving your vibes and we are soo similar lol new subscriber!!
Love this video!!! thanks for the ideas :)
I loved this vídeo! Totally gonna keep in mind the bottles!
Very nice presents, you are so generous Shelbi!
Omg this is amazing! I’m trying for a baby and I was looking for plastic free baby items and these bottles look amazing!!
Love this vid!! Thanks for the research and reviews.. I'm a new mom to be and somehow I grew into caring alot for the environment despite being born and raised in New York! I love the bottles and will be getting then soon! 😍🙏🤘
What?? I'm going nuts over those bottles, too! I would be thrilled to receive any of this at a shower, nice picks!
Think about this- just a few generations ago, glass baby bottles and cloth diapers where the norm. (When I was a kid in the 80's people still had diaper pins! Just kind of "around") When I had my first child in 1993, I actually had a mix of glass and plastic baby bottles, and it wasn't until my third child in 2001 that I had to deal with buying "infant feeding systems" aka, where you had to buy all the same brand of a bottle. Before that, bottles and lids where all interchangeable.
Those bottles are so cool 🤩
I'm a mom of a 1-year old, saw this video while searching zero-waste kid stuff (we started with cloth diapers), and wanted to suggest a different product for making baby food! We have the Bullet turbo steamer and bullet blender. The two items together cost a bit more than the food maker you're recommending, but operationally, the baby bullet system is useful for a family for WAY longer! The steamer being able to produce 6 hard-boiled (steamed) eggs with almost no effort on my part practically pays for itself, but I can also break off a few broccoli tops and steam them at a moments notice. It's actually large enough to quickly steam portions for the whole family meal, making it useful for YEARS, and it's also large enough to use as a bottle warmer, so it's useful from day one of a baby's life! The blender will also be useful for way longer because it can do textured food, has the ability to mill grains, and will make kid-sized smoothies easy enough to make even on a hectic day for years to come. It is two items, but the product you're recommending requires a transfer step between steaming and blending anyway, and I find that multi-use items don't do those functions as well as dedicated items. It's also super easy to clean!
I'm totally nerding out with you over those bottles!! Go Pura!! :)
Okay those bottles. Bless them
I love those bottles! ❤️❤️❤️
As soon as a baby gets really into swallowing food you can use those pouches. I made my own food, and used cloth diapers. Pure sounds like an awesome brand super cute too... Shoot even without kids an adult can totally use it! On my amazon list!!! Love the products you picked.
Also, the Brazza packs work great if you have gastrointestinal problems.... I use them on bad days... and I'm an adult
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video. As a mother I was struggling to find eco friendly products. I just ordered the pura bottles. I was wondering if you would consider making a video about diy eco friendly good for your body soaps, and then a eco friendly disinfectant hand soap in bar shape or whatever. I was trying to pm you but I couldn’t find the option!
My step sister just has twins and is fairly environmentally minded but she has plastic bottles. I will totally be getting her these!!!
Omg where do I live that I didnt know of these bottles thank you ...new subscriber here 😙from Puerto Rico
Definitely have her check into baby led weaning too :) Aka feeding the baby finger foods from the start!
I use those baby food pouches!!! My nephew loves them and super easy for me to use!!!
If im being honest i kinda want one of those reusable pouches for myself. its just so fun!
Stainless steel baby bottles with bumpers-- so cute!!!!
(Another reason they might be nicer than glass is because glass bottles can be quite a bit heavier than plastic, and stainless is nice and lightweight.
Oh my crap it gets better and better! Lol... You can use those "bottles" yourself and just different lids for your kids of all ages. That is so cool.
I think these are some great options. I don't know that the stainless steel bottles for infant feeding would be ideal because it's important to measure and keep track of how much baby is drinking and be careful that the milk isn't too hot. I think glass makes more sense for infant feeding so it's easy to see the level of breast milk or formula. I do think once baby is older and can have other food and drinks the stainless steel bottle would be great!
I got a bamboo plate, bowl, spoon and fork for my niece when she was born and have another set ( with a different pattern) for my nephew who is due end of March/start of April.
New to your channel I have loving going and watching all your videos. I have been using my pura kiki bottles for my son and gave my sister one for her baby. I just wanted to note that you can get silicone pouches as well to be plastic free
I use a bottle brush to clean the pieces on my juicer. I don't have kids either. Just mentioning it so you know you're not alone. Lol
I had no idea you had a video kid-related; that’s awesome! We are a BIG (7 children ages 8-months to freshly five-years, plus hubby and I) VEGAN, and low waste family. We started our Low-waste/low-impact life about two years ago. I am a crunchy mom all the way 😉 We don’t use bottles (only the good’ol booby 😆) and we do BLW (baby led weaning, no purées) but I still find this velodrome super informative. Thank you for that! A great way to reduce waste is using a natural fiber carrier instead of a stroller to transport your child. ☺️ Or if you’re planning to have more babies close in age you can invest in a good quality stroller that converts to accommodate more children so you don’t need to buy multiple strollers, multiple times... Also, safe bed sharing so you don’t have to invest in a crib and looking into buying from ethical Etsy shops, IG shops m, etc to buy anything you can’t get/find second hand is a great option!
Love those bottles!!
Great video. I will definitely buy the bottles :) !
I have been looking for these!
I have the baby bullet but when we go out I buy the food in the plastic pouch because it's more convenient. But now that I know they sell reusable baggies I will be buying those!!
Love the bottle have you seen the mason bottle? That one is cool too
Aww i need a new version of this im having my baby in march🥰
I always made my baby food. you know what goes on it and it taste better and doesn't take much time to do
I wish Pura had been around when my littles were little. Or the food processor actually. I used a food mill and it was kinda a pain
Sorry Shelby, where are the links placed now? Just trying to see the brand name for bottles & baby proccesor. Not sure if we get the in Australia, but they would be awsome for my daughter who has a 6 month old & a 2 yr old child. ;) thanks in advance. 😁
What a thoughtful gift!
I just ordered the reusable pouch! Will definetly order the stainless cups once my niece gets older (:
Check out Mason bottles. They are a awesome bottles brand that uses Mason jars and turn them into bottles
Is that top new or did you refashion it? Looks beautiful from what we can see...
My mom just used a blender for my brother"s baby food. You can also feed your baby food like mashed potatoes, applesauce and oatmeal you're eating yourself.
Kathy B.
Ughh, I wish I knew about those bottles when my kiddos we're babies.
Hi! I know this is an old video but I’d love if there’s an update at all for baby stuff or even maternity products/ clothes. I recently found out I was pregnant and would love to have a sustainable pregnancy/ child rearing (? Lol idk). Thank you love you
I have a friend getting ready to get married and move out of her parents house and I was wondering if maybe you had some tips on sustainable wedding gifts?
Tell her to look into seventh generation diapers, they don't have all the added stuff that makes diapers white. They're a paper bag color, ugly but awesome diapers and hold a ton of pee and more poop. Reusable pouches are awesome, I used them for my youngest and he started using them around 8 months I think. There's also a bunch of eco friendly and wood baby toys that you could get her if you're wanting to get more stuff. I love how excited you are about knowing that there's eco friendly baby stuff.
Shylee jenee seventh generation actually dyes their diapers to be that “natural” color. That being said, I’m not sure they make those anymore. They have new ones with animals and stuff printed on them.
I tried to love those Seventh Generation diapers but they felt like paper bags to me. I couldn’t imagine they were comfy on my son, so I ended up switching.
I glanced at the title of this video and read “free plastic baby toys” lmbo
Im so buying the pura baby bottles for my cousins baby, there so cute
I use dr brown glass and that work also good
how am I just stumbling upon this 2 years later??
i just saw glass baby bottles at goodwill! wanted to get them for the future but i won’t be having kids for like 15 years lol!
I know you said your friend doesn't want cloth diapers, but I thought you might want a couple non-environmentalist reasons to use them to pass on. They don't leak poo, which means they save all the cute clothes from stains. Disposables have poop explosions. We used them once while travelling & the baby ended up with poo up his back clear to his shoulders. Now we take cloth with us travelling and use a laundromat. Second, they hold more urine than disposables, so baby sleeps longer. For our toddler, the honest co overnights last about 8 hrs, cotton & hemp cloth lasts 12 hrs.
