this one hurt. twice had some SERIOUS depth as a character that really shined through in his last episode.
I wasn't ready even though I already saw it...
1st child Nomus die then twice die then hero died by twice last double 3 deaths already and this episode 3
wouldn't call it depth. just a system failed to account for people with who's quirk might manifest and interact with their mental health. which is kinda weird for a superhuman society. but yeah, as a viewer you can't help but feel for someone in this position. the only crowd left to accept him is labelled "villain".
which if anything makes villains like Stain have more depth to them. too bad he was a half-arc villain in the same category as that magician dude in season 4😂😂
well it hurts but you kinda understand why hawk did it as well
As a manga reader, I can certainly say Studio Bones did Twice’s death justice. May he Rest In Peace.🕊
🙏
They sure did! I cried like a newborn baby in my reaction video….was not expecting to cry, let alone for a “villain”
@@ThePOPcultureHashira that alone says how good the episode was
I'm crying all over again 😭💔
Fr 😭
The first character we see Twice interact with canonically(not chronologically because that's Giran) is Dabi back in the forest arc. So the fact that Dabi was the one with the real Twice in his final moments, encouraging him, is so wild. That little high five too. Pain. His little speech to Toga is sad. And the way they changed the ED to show how sad Toga was without him. The villains aren't necessarily right in what they're doing, but the idea they're striving for isn't exactly wrong either. The destruction of the current hero society.
A society that pushes people to the side if they have quirks that make them look different from other people. There's actually a group of people who hate people with heteromorphic quirks that got completely cut from the anime in S5 and kinda tied into Spinner's arc. A society that saw Toga's quirk and just said, "Ew. Gross." Instead of helping her out(granted, most of the blame on this one falls on her parents but still). A society where if you trip, the world will keep kicking you as you're down so you can never get back up. A society where a hurt and traumatized child can wander the streets with hundreds of people passing him by saying, "Oh. Someone else will take care of that."
The world rejected the League. So they made sure to be there for each other. They started as a band of misfits but slowly became an actual found family. Twice thinks he ended up letting his family down again. And the worst part is, the real Twice doesn't know his clone was successful in saving Toga or Compress. He doesn't know that they aren't upset with him at all. R.I.P. Twice. You were an amazing character. A complicated villain. He would consider his days with the League to be the best parts of his life. So in that sense, you could say he was happy. R.I.P.
I read the manga but did Dabi really care about Twice ?
@@phxrxmxnx not really, but he did somewhat liked him as a person. Dabi is mainly trying not to get attached to anyone (for his own reasons), and staying with LoV mostly because of convenience. So he doesn't really care about anything other that his own "grand plan"
its not that deep
I hope people understand, that while what happened to Twice is heartbreaking, Hawks did what he had to do and that there was no other choice for him in that moment.
I honestly believe that’s what makes it so heartbreaking
@@Cs-cp6vo Definitely
And here we go... No, Hawks is totally wrong in this scene. It baffles me that people can think otherwise when even the anime and manga's staging portray him as scary and emotionless in this scene.
Secondly, heroes don't kill. This was made clear by Ending, which is the very reason he targeted Endeavor, and this statement was never contradicted afterwards. Hawks had no right to do what he did, and since he ambushed Twice and the latter was running for his life after Hawks tried several times to kill him, there is no notion of self-defense in this. It was just a murder that is not rationally justified at any point.
Thirdly, no choice ? What ? In his first apparition, we saw him knock out a criminal with a single feather without even looking at him, what was stopping him from doing that here ? Or from asking other heroes, with a quirk that can counter Twice's like Midnight, to be ready to intervene? Or, randomly, to try to really reason with Twice rather than setting a trap, attacking him, taunting him and forcing him to betray his friends ?
I understand
I cried like a baby in my reaction vid….I really thought hawks and twice were gonna end up doing some major power move that turned the fight in the hero’s favor…but obviously that didn’t happen and I know it was hard for Hawks…But at least Twice died saving his friends
This season is everything I wanted from MHA
It’s living up to the hype! Already blows last season out of the water
Not you guys but the more I watch reactions, the more I think people don't understand that what melted wasn’t the main body. I got the impression that people didn't realize that what died was a double and Hawks had already killed Twice by evidence of his corpse bleeding on the floor above. If you pay close enough attention you can see the double falling off the balcony before he stabbed the hero
Seeing Tokoyami freak out when Redestro BRIEFLY holds him back only for him to refer to Machia. Let’s not forget Tokoyami in full power could DEFINITELY destroy a city. So for HIM to freak out, we all know how much that stands for the big guy.
Dabi by the way knowing a hero’s name is not impossible. You get licensed by the government to act as a hero. That’s why there are licenses. I mean Ending learned where Endeavor lived last season. Villains don’t normally target heroes because they ALREADY can do things like fall from the stratosphere and live. Not much villains can do. Hawks…is a VERY different story. He was trained SPECIFICALLY by the government. He’s the public safety commission hero. That’s why he was the spy in the 1st place.
And we all hate to see it. But it HAS to happen. Twice is among the most dangerous villains. He can destroy the country on his own. He can LITERALLY use his quirk CONSTANTLY. If he ever copied AFO, Machia, or Shigaraki, it’s over. (Considering the force to break THEIR bones at this juncture, it’s no different than having the real deal on the field because AFO didn’t break anything after fighting ALL-MIGHT in season 3 INCLUDING the United States of Smash.) And the fact a mini Nomu had double means they were ONE step away from getting that quirk copied to AFO or Shigaraki. Morally it’s wrong because Twice is morally harmless. But the choices are country destruction or put him down. And outside AFO and Garaki, these villains are only monsters for a moment. And that’s what makes this so hard.
Do you remember thief Takami (that one criminal caught by Endeavor years ago) from season 5??? Ending was thinking to himself when he was stalking the Todoroki family outside their house and kidnapped Natsuo after the disastrous Todoroki family dinner episode...
Hawks's name is Keigo Takami... 👀
wait... what? I'm a manga reader and we have some stuff on hawks that I won't spoil but wow! I wonder how that connects. I'm wondering why that family has such a deep connection to the todoroki's, and endeavor specifically.
@@coranonthecob1613 Yeah it's in the beginning of season 5 episode 18
@@coranonthecob1613 its already explained
I saw him die in the manga and it still hurts so much. He deserves so much better. The whole group, actually. I like his relationship with Toga. It was pretty wholesome. Seeing him go just hit me like a truck.
At one point in their life, when they were innocents, they definitely deserved better. But as of now, after harming so many innocents, they don't deserve anything good anymore.
@@soumyajitmandal6028 that's one way to think about it
@@soumyajitmandal6028 Correct, Twice became guilty the moment he tried to kill kids at the camp.
@@soumyajitmandal6028 you cold blooded bro
@@ThePOPcultureHashira they're mass murderers. A traumatic childhood doesn't justify their actions.
8:53, at the top left I can't believe they added the small detail of Twice falling to his death
GOOD EYE
I cried like a baby even tho I read the manga and knew we are losing Twice. He wasnt a good person, he was GREAT person. He was sefless, caring, kind, friendly and so trusting in the good in everyone. If you take the fact Enji - the abuser is a hero and Jin the nice person is classified as a villain..it truly starts raising questions. The thing is he protected the villains coz they were the only ones willing to give him a chance...RIP Jin Bubaigawara, always remembered as the kindest "villain" of any show I ve ever seen.
Yes. Heroes and Villains are determined by the outside world. To the LoV, Twice was a hero to various members on various occasions. So was Toga, or Dabi, or Shigaraki. The challenge in MHA is that the 'side' we see this from consists of a bunch of niave teenagers being thrown into a seemingly corrupt system against a series of villains who are often more sympathetic than the forces that have deemed them such and decided to wipe them out. It makes for compelling story.
Now, before people try to paint Hawks as the bad guy here and Twice as doing nothing wrong, take note that Twice was not “running away” from Hawks. It was not him “fleeing in surrender”. It was Twice running to join the fight and kill a lot of heroes, including some kids as there are some students there. Hawks killed him to protect them and tried to avoid doing so until left with no option. He was rendering him incapacitated when Dabi burst in, not killing him. That’s why he avoided his organs. He saved Twice from Dabi burning them both alive, and was planning on flying Twice out and away until Twice got away. Hawks killed him to protect the others. JUST LIKE TWICE DID TO THE HERO TO PROTECT TOGA AND MR. COMPRESS. And Toga and Mr. Compress were not in any mortal danger either, they were being arrested. The heroes? They would have been in mortal danger had Hawks not taken care of Twice.
Yes we get it, so can you let us just mourn Twice in peace, geez there’s hundreds of people saying the exact same thing and I just want to be sad about Twice for a few minutes T__T
@@userunknown8830 who says you can’t be sad? You can acknowledge that Hawks’ choice was made in order to save the most lives and very much a last resort and still be sad Twice died. They aren’t mutually exclusive.
hawks killed twice
twice is done
sad part is hawks never saw him as a bad guy, hawks meant when he liked him
the reason he killed twice was he knew just how dangerous his power was, if he had gone and let lose SAD MANS PARADE the heroes would be done
A sad ending for an amazing character
also you guys noticed how dani knew hawks real name
dabi is a G ......too good of aa character
Exactly!!!! I know this hurt Hawks too!
@@ThePOPcultureHashira saw how he said buibaigawara
He really wanted twice to sit there
But I understand twice
Hawks love Twice so much and gave him so many chances, Twice could've died so much earlier, but since Dabi is there, he's probably scared that Twice can actually gone out and release sad man parade and eliminate a bunch of heroes, he do not have a choice. Such a heartbreaking scene.
@@seongthongchuah8356 Actually, Hawks tried to murder Twice before Dabi's intervention.
This season really isn’t joking with anything 💀
The fact that they changed the ED to show Toga's grief really hit deep, hoo momma. D:
Thank you Bones for doing this justice!
RIP Twice 😭💔
And this people, is where My Hero Academia changed forever. Buckle up in this roller coaster, we're only stopping for emergencies, and no, crying isn't an emergency.
I knew this was coming from the manga.. but man.. I wasn't ready for this
Bro I reacted the same way in my video with Twice! My boy CANNOT BE GOING OUT LIKE THIS! 😭 This episode broke me!!
Twice was so OP Hawks had no choice but to kill him……
Imagine an army of Togas or Dabis or Gigantomachias or Shigarakis!!! Twice could do that! He could have single handedly won the war for them! It’s even more tragic because he was never a bad or malicious person, just got dealt a bad hand…..
If he had gone down a different path he would have been an Incredible Hero!! Top 5 Easy! And People Would Have Loved Him……..🤍🖤💔
Just him doubling a few nomus would have destroyed the heroes.
hard agree, he's far way too dangerous to be left alive. Even if one of his copies manage to stay alive prior to his death, the hero would've lost but thanks to falling and rolling from concrete was enough to melt the copy or else it will start doubling like there's no tomorrow.
@Rising×scorching×sun ikr? The broken thing with his quirk is that his doubles can also inherit the quirk of the person he intends to copy. The hero, nah scratch that the world is soo f-ing dead if he double Gigantomacia as well as those high-end nomus.
As noted in the manga, Tokoyami can control Berserk Dark Shadow now.
The ending visuals updated and during the twice and toga panel they show toga sulking all alone
I knowwww😭just adding insult to injury
Reminder that Kamui Woods and Mt Lady are together... so that wood game strong.
ayo wait
Bruh💀
sheesh
Hawks really reminded me of those NOCs in Detective Conan...
...They kill doesn’t mean they aren’t “heroes “. They’re just using a much difficult way, hiding their true identities, denying their “faith “ as a CIA, FBI and a PSB; walking in the path of dark and risking their lives, enabling all the citizens living under the big, bright sun.
That’s the main reason why I likes them, not only because they are cool, but the unbreakable faith they have.
Bro, I wasn't expecting that at all, what a episode holy shit
3:40 hawks and twices dog version in the background lmao
God when this came out in the manga I cried my eyes out and even knowing what this and the next few episodes entail I’m still like 😭😭😭
Bro…I ACTUALLY CRIED LIKE A BABY in my reaction video….This episode just HIT HARD! I understand Why HAWKS did what he did, I’m sure it was hard for him to take Twice’s life….But at least Twice died saving his friends
It's raining here, the sky is crying too :')
dabi wasnt going to sacrifice twice, he knew hawks would save him from the fire he said it himself
The manga phrases it a -lot- more callously. Not sure why the Anime decided to play it off, really.
That was still really reckless. I don't know if this is a hot take but I honestly think Dabi doesn't care about the other league members at all. Like even Tomura displays camaraderie with them, but Dabi never does. Like here he's "comforting" Dabi but it seems to me like his intention is to spite Hawks much more than it is to make Twice feel better. As opposed to Spinner, Toga or Twice, who actually crave human connection, Dabi doesn't seem to care.
He was also really surprised Hawks was able to save *himself* from the second blast, so idk how much confidence he could have had that Hawks would manage it
Hawks looks sad that he needed to stop twice
Hehehe, this is just the beginning, you’re not ready for what else this Arc has in-store.
I just finished this ep and got your notification!!
Man that was deep.
P.S. the dogs in the background. XD
日本人として日本のアニメがこうして世界中の人々の心を動かしていると思うと、とても誇らしいです。
Rest in peace twice ☮️, the end had me crying cuz twice was one of my fav characters
Words to live by. Words to die by.
"Why do you get to decide that I was unlucky? I was happy to be here."
Like Dabi said he knew Hawks would save Twice.
私は漫画を読んで物語を知っていなければ、このシーンを見て確実に泣いていた。
Dabi is so cool
My favorite mha character
dude that shirt your wearing, I have that same exact shirt
Yea, you can tell the mangaka made sure to make Twice relatable, despite being on the villain side. Society didn't accept him, even though he tried, and the first family that he considered family, accepted him and his quirks, no pun intended. I thought It was very sweet of the mangaka to send a character off protecting Toga, the one misfit that could relate to him. Damn, that's good writing.
Although Hawks is my guy….he was really grimy for this. Twice’s VA did a grand job bc I felt those yells of betrayal 😔
Not a good situation for either of them.
Hawks did all he could. It was either betray one guy (and he did offer him rehab and helping him start over) or watching the country fall to that single guy's Quirk.
@@alistairleonhart3925 I know. It just wasn’t a good situation on either end.
@@alistairleonhart3925 exactly
@@alistairleonhart3925 as we know from the manga, rehab doesn't work.
Nah bro….this hurt HAWKS just as much…..he had a hard decision to make….even he said so in the beginning he can’t let emotions get the better of him
We can say twice influence was on a very bad side it's the exact opposite of the saying " the bad influence" this situation is.
Twice was just a normal dude that the world abandoned.
If we were more compassionate to each other than none of this would have happened.
rip to a real one
I’m not sure if I’m right but twice was the nicest of the league of villians
"Nobody ever dies on MHA"

Was this the best episode ever?
Toga and twice is one of favorite characters I just love them but the ideology they're following they have to die for good
Nooo Twice was my favorite of the villains 😭😭😭😭
hawks killed twice
Just because they have a tragic past that doesn't mean they deserve to be saved, even in IRL some people are better of locked up or dead. A lot of vile people in our history had a tragic past.
Episode three:) who rembers the festival arc ?…😢
When a villain kills someone it's wrong, but when a hero kills a guy it's even worse. I don't understand it in the anime. The villains' strange reasoning. If I had killed a lot of people, I'd rather be ready that death could also meet me. Or that Toga will probably get upset that her friend has been killed. Well, they killed more people than the Hawks together, and where's the problem? I do not understand this.
Its worse because Heros are supposed to help not kill its not that hard
yeah i hate hawks now after this episode
Twice is the best damn villian in this show! and no one can convince me otherwise! 😭
you hate him for doing the right thing ? lol
nothing more than this, it's going to be worse than this 💀
why is she dressed up like shes a character in a filthy frank video
5:52 "Sympathizing with villain like that"??
Just wait for Hunter x Hunter bro.
This is just asinine, like why should I feel bad for him? He actively choose to support destruction and murder every. single. day
Duk, rigth now MHA has CHANGED for You? I mean, You want a Dark season
In the title u said "Haws" instead of hawks
how does this effect lebrons legacy
@@DukReacts finally someone asking the real questions
Hey Man, can you be slightly less spoiler-y with your titles, know you want to generate more clicks, but the episode literally just came out today.
remember heroes don't kill
but hawks just did......just shows the villains ain't wrong also
they know heroes only preach justice when it works for them and they themselves break rules like this to do stuff that is the reason the league of villains exist
people who were not accepted by the normof society cause they were different
like toga was a slave to her blood quirk
shigaraki was just broken with his decay quirk
twice was unaccepted by anyone not even his own clones
just shows the depth this people have.....
Remember heroes do kill, as there's quite literally no "rule" against that. If a villain is actively threatening lives and needs to be killed to stop, then they will kill. All Might himself went for the kill during his fight with AFO and would have died if he didn't.
Hawks gave Twice every chance to surrender and stop (even saved him from Dabi.) Twice refused, and then went to supply an army of himself to help a terrorist organization. (Which would have resulted in the destruction of Japan and lots of death.) Not killing him at that point would be wrong.
All my homies hate Hawks
