Next time when bending or molding HMW plastics, use HEAT! You can basically mold the entire sheet to fit the hull bottom. Boiling water is great for bending and molding it because of heat distribution, but also a rosebud torch, applied sparingly, and other heating methods can be used. Also, consider cyanocrylate/powder welding for joining pieces together. You will come up with a more robust design altogether.
Probably the only time I've ever sat here thinking 'Man... Ethan should PROBABLY have a helmet for that creek..." And I'm not a safety anxious person in the slightest lol
Had the EXACT same thoughts - an accident can happen so quickly... And I'm also not a safety person at all...😀
I'd wear a helmet before the life vest. Takes about 2" of water to drown when you're knocked out face down in a creek
Yep, never really considered a helmet as a necessity for going up a creek, but that was a rough section, I would definitely want a brain bucket going up that
Thank God it was all good. This time.
Forehead stitches and broken noses🎉
Can you imagine how effective this sort of boat would be for Search and Rescue operations? Specifically for the searching part. It would be so easy to put it in the bed of a pickup or on a tiny off-road trailer and get it to remove streams with ease.
They have inflatable ones that would probably be better for that but yeah
I could swear I just saw that boat being pulled on a trailer, lol. 441 Belleview. 👍👍👍✌️
imagine being a fisherman and going all the way up a secluded creek to escape the boats disturbing the fish and this mf just flies by 🤣
Fishing. Boat ecxt jety biat exust fishing no fisthg mini jet bists
@@sharonbraselton3135 what
For marking black uhmw, silver sharpies, or white paint pens are your best bet. Also for filling seams and gouges, you can take a small scrap, like a 1/4" wide strip, light the end on fire, and drip it like a candle. Definitely not good to breath in, but that at home plastic base welding.
White Paint pens are my new shop drug.. they are amazing
I personally do pink lol that way nobody steals em at work 😂
@@goosenotmaverick1156 Genius!! 🤣
Not sure if Josh is just hangin for a few. But man, that’s one piece of the puzzle I had no idea you needed.
Formidable team
I'm also curious why he's been in the background the last couple videos
@@isaacclark6749I know.. I was joking that he’s just a magic casual cowboy who shows up to help and offer lessons and then disappears! Hahahaha
So, that was the guy with the twin turbo Toyota ute? Vague industries? I thought it was him!
Probably setting something up in the new workshop like a cnc or big plasma table.
These boys shoot multiple project videos on the same day while they each work on something different so he could’v literally only been there for one day but has appeared on a couple different videos
He looks like a midget driving around in that thing
Honestly didn't expect another jet boat video, but I'm here for it!! YEEEWWWWWWW!!!! Happy Friday boys!
Thank you guys for the mini jet content. Its the reason I found and follow your channel. More please
As a 3rd shifter thank you guys for making videos longer. Love watching you guys regardless 45 mins of premium content
Y'all never cease to amaze me on the builds that you do. Not to mention the silly shenanigans. 😂👍
I love it!!! Great idea in that boat. Looks like it's really fun and it's fun making it. Can't be more fun.
Nice! Fun day on the water with gorgeous scenery all around. That first part with you hiking through the brush along the river in your vest, had a solid Burt Reynold 'Deliverance' theme to it. Was waiting for the banjo music to start up. Good content as always.
I just learned of you guys last night while watching an interview with Derek Bierri from VGG and I have to tell you I am SO glad I did! The projects you guys take on are really impressive and while I'm working my way through your channel I have to say, this jet boat project is TOP NOTCH. The fabricator (Ethan?) is the real deal and I love how creative he is at figuring out problems. I also love that y'all show your errors as well. Keep up the fantastic work as your skill sets will only improve! Thank you for the entertainment!
That would be a great sport, almost like rally racing, timed run up a streak of shallow river or creek, jumping over sandbars, hopping out as fast as you can to push your boat off of obstacles. Great event to attend, good spectator sport as well, not too expensive as well so low cost of entry.
your channel has grown so fast. this is amazing because it allows yall to keep on building such amazing machines. Thank you for all the great content. Stay blessed.
You guys are an inspiration. The first 30 minutes was great, it showed how you can upgrade your boat without 30k+ of machine tools.
An old fiberglass boat trick. Use the counter sink bit in reverse on the drill so you don’t accidentally counter sink too much.
I hope I never have to use this tip, but good tip! 😄
As much as I enjoy watching you guys build something I even more enjoy seeing you have fun playing with your awesome toys and yes, it also makes me a bit jealous. 👍
That plastic welds very well. You can take a thin scrap and use it like a welding fill rod with light torch work.
Awesome guys! Your channel is never short of any entertainment! Dead battery! Quick to the Jackery! Thanks for sharing.
That dog was all like "See what kinda crazy crap I gotta put up with around here! Save me!" LOL
Man...loving the micro jet...awesome!
keep em coming!!!!
I love how you put an ATV muffler in the boat and it became an ATB. All terrain boating is crazy lol
Always a good day when the mini jet boat gets time on the water. 💯
GRIND HARD .... building the best things you never knew you needed!! Just awesome guys! Cant wait to see the new shop up & running!👍 much love from the U.K 🇬🇧👍❤
Used to run the rivers in Western WA Steelhead and Salmon fishing when I was younger. My buddy and I built a 20' sled from scratch (built the trailer also). One evening while shooting back up the Snoqualmie River in the dark my buddy made a wrong turn and we ended up in a small portion of the river that cut across a big sweeping bend in the river. I was facing backwards, saw his eyes get big for a second and then he floored it. I looked to my left and right and saw riverbank on both sides, just a few feet from the boat. Turned around to see maybe a 10-12' wide trickle in front of us that was maybe 6-8" deep with a small waterfall over some small rocks at the end where it entered the main channel again. We hit that little waterfall full throttle, jumped the boat back into the main river and kept on trucking! Going 40-60mph up a shallow river in a big boat can be stressful but fun at the same time.
You may have been able to warm the plastic with a rosebud torch and get it to drape over the hull better. Just a thought.
Always love the build montages ❤
I love that Josh made it out to the property! Sure hope you showed him the treehouse and everything!
You guys are very enjoyable to watch. Very respectful bunch of fellas which means you have good percents. Stay safe
Love the jet boat videos, always looks like a ton of fun.
Now you guys need to make another similar boat, as it waaaaay more than doubles the fun! ❤❤❤
Yes, everything’s always funner with a buddy 🤘🏼
You all are living the dream!! Love watching the projects and I hope it never ends😁
It’s so good to see someone with impeccable skills in mechanical engineering and over all excellent fabrication skills
Lolllll
I can see a need for a little foldable oar mounted on the engine cover :)
When you were going up stream over those rocks, I had a grin on my face the whole time. Completely badass! Too bad it ended short but it was probably getting too shallow anyway.
you guys brought minis back in the biggest way possible. i gotta say at first i was a skeptic. but you guys are part of my daily life. my day dont seem complete unless ive got some grind hard in it
Nice to see Sam is doing well.
That looks like a blast!
Much ❤ Love
🌎🌍🌏⚡️☯️
Sick as always! Let's see a full nighttime run!
I hope you countersink
Lights! Camera! Action!!...
The lil heart on the steering wheel really sets it off
The video I've been waiting for since this build started. That looks like so much fun!!
You guys are always doing something insane and I love it 😂😂 1:36
Not one use of the word premium!!! That makes me so happy!!!
They do use it a bit to excessively.
10:14 10:43 you lied but ya 10 time every video it kills me
@@calebpovey4967 I did hear it 4times One dude said it relatively quietly, another at the creek rocks. Another after the drone incident. Then the last right before the very end.
Out of the whole video said it twice in one minute
Yeah, they got a few in at the end......but so much better than just watching Will be a dumbass and saying it every 10 seconds hahahaha
Life has been kicking mine lately. Smiled a mile wide when I saw that you had a new upload. Thanks :)
Ive always wanted to go up bull creek, but always knew it was wayy to shallow for my john boat, awesome to see this! I love that campground
I could only imagine how much it hurt to hit those rocks in that tiny boat
And damage it causes to boat that cost tons to build in parts not to mention labor that went to it. That armor is there to protect against rocks, not enable it to run on rock like its normal. Also leaving to expedition like that with out checking and double checking things like battery. Its same thing with bikes. You go to do physical work for whole day until you are exhausted, then tip your bike on its side and if you cant lift it up and kick to start, then its too heavy for you, that is just one of the things to consider when preparing to leave for expedition like that, cause you are utterly fucked if you run into issues middle of nowhere.
@@Hellsong89who asked?
looks like a blast. helmets please.
Spectacular video Guys 👍👍👍. That was some old skhool James Bond , skipping over land 😂🤪
Watching this vid made me realize the utility of a metal hull jetski could be. Your boat but sit on instead of in. What a fun time! Sorry you had to walk it out so far Ethan! Maybe a collapsible paddle? Such a fun toy.
Tip for you guys. You can use the counter sink tool on plastic with a power drill but the trick is to put it in reverse and let it melt slowly while it heats up
Is there a reason you couldn't heat and bend the plastic to "mold" it to the bottom of the boat rather than cut and bend? I think the size of the piece would make it tricky but not impossible. Either way, looks great!
I had the same thought!
The plastic is probably too thick to properly heat or won't maintain the same properties and might deform.
you could potentially use the boat as a vacuum forming buck and use a sheet of kydex but that would take a lot of prep, a big machine to get it heated properly, and lots of trimming
@@broodaiamdewey622That was my thought… maybe when that plastic is heated and cools it becomes brittle and defeats the whole purpose of using it as a protective layer…
@@broodaiamdewey622The plastic can easily be heated, but you don't want to use a blowtorch. You use a hot water bath and then drape it over the hull and it will form fit as it cools down, a rosebud torch can work in a pinch to help it here and there but you have to do it carefully.
Awsome video guys......everyone still had fun tho !.... thanks for sharing this with us
bro is getting really good at acro fpv, love to see it!
Powder coat paint the jet boats than a rap doesn’t come off anymore
30:58 if you want to skip over the building phase and want to see it in action
First off i need to watch more. Second shout out to Josh. Third i respect the skill with a zip disc and a grinder. And lastly you need scrolling blades and a short throw reciprocating saw. The bug brands all sell them. Inwill end off with, keep doing what your doing, i love it.
Wow. That looks like a ton of fun. That being said, please keep this off my creeks and rivers. Thank you.
Granky guy here. If you are not going to wear a helmet, why wear the life vest. Love your chanel. Just want you nummies to stat safe.
First 30 mins ⬇️
Yep
Yoo
Heck yeah lol
Dez Nutz
I skip all the building related shit 😂
Been the long week waiting for a video to drop. I'm stoked, 2nd cup of coffee n GHPC video to finish morning 😅
Probably the 1st 360 I've seen, with a BOAT! WELL DONE ETHAN💪
Great boat, just a few minor issues! Well it makes a great canoe as well as a boat. Nice to see Sam back on the team.
That's the sickest most awesome mini jet boat ever built! But then I wouldn't expect anything less from Grind Hard Plumbing Co.!
Ethan, your engineering always proves itself. From mind to matter. No wasting paper in between. Well, maybe some cut up cereal boxes for templates. You know. 😉
We had pocket bike racing in the early 2000s, and now we can have Pocket Boat racing in the 2020s! 10/10
Drone footage is just dope guys
Edwin always expanding the jukebox! I love the Turkish sounding stuff and the 70’s funky vibes
Great videos guys and it is always good to see Sam The Mad Man tearing it up !
the random drone shots are wild
Its always an awesome video when Josh randomly pops up 👍👍
It was great to see Sam back! Great video as always.
I really like these guys they do some of the coolest stuff!! The banshee street bike is my favorite, it's insane!!
make 2 more please of these nice boats, love to see a pack of them running on the lake :D
Awesome job at the add-on. Also, what a great grate. Cheers
Always a good day when Grind Hard posts!
Okay... Without delay yet again... Definite new sub... You guys are 'handy'!! :p. Nice work! This is something I would have thought seeing on Cleatus' channel... However, this is probably too much 'boat' for him to handle without hurting himself... ;)
Awesome video crazy pink wett ride.👍🏻
Great video as always guys
Cant wait for yall to somehow convince Cleetus to try n fit in that thing! Haha
"A complicated compromise of combining ....things" words of a damn wizard.
You guys have the NOCO lithium battery now just need the NOCO lithium jumpstarter!
Love your work! Keep up the amazing work!!
Love the vids guys!!!
You are getting so good with the drone control, Edwin! (Or is that you, Will. They would never admit it. 🤣)
Will is no wimp. Rocked the Barbie Boat. Glad you got everything cleared out (carb) after the "incident". 🤣😂😛❤
I'm 60. I was right THERE w/you guys. Thankyou. I had alit of FUN
OUCH!!!!!!!! My back hurts just watching that boulder run, crazy.
I am a 15 year old Alaskan kid and watch all your videos and love what you do. I drive 20ft jet boats and drive atvs and 160hp snowmobiles but this little jet boat would be amazing fun and I could take it to so many amazing places in Alaska. It would be so much fun.
Can I just say my dog loves watching your videos with me because she hears your dog lol we need more on the dog in an episode lol. Love it
Thanks for the videos and keep on building I love it so much
Loving the music selections!
Gosh that thing looks like so much fun!!
I like your work guys! Ole Cleeter ain't got nothing on you all! lol
Dang that looks like a absolute blast guys 42:48
FYI if you have a cordless power tool battery you can jump a battery like is what's in your j boat. I've done it before on a Tahoe I had. None of my neighbors at the time had jumper cables. I had a fresh 14.4v cordless impact battery made 2 short cables and it fired right up.
The new addition to the crew is great!
Sickest boat I've ever seen.. and I've seen a lot of them. Wow wish I had one.
Fun Video. Looks like you ended 'Up the creek without a Paddle'! 😉
you need to build another small boat (a 2 seater would be nice) for filming and rescue missions like these
Next Pikes Peak hill climb? would be cool to see the tech and techniques that would come out of the woodwork with that type of race.
When you are cutting sheets of anything with a circular saw it's best to lift the saw blade so that it penetrates the material by less than 1/2". It stops the blade from overheating and makes it much easier to go around curves.
I love all the mini builds, theyre the whole reason i subscribed ❤
I can't wait to see the Mini Jet Boat lap around the track. :)
