just use some tape to stick all pimple surface then you can easily glue & stick rubber to the blade without any wrinkling.

Or, you could pin the OX on a sheet of cardboard to hold it in place while you apply the glue.

The rubber doesn‘t need the glue layer, this will surely affect the performance.
I also apply the glue layer on the blade to prevent damage at the removal.

Oops seeing this now. V>22, Dignics 09C, Hurricane 3 Provincial / Victas P1V, P4V,. Are good choices. But depends on your style. Modern Day Defender, or Close to the table chop block. Anyway, some choices above.
