If NB can accurately read the situation he's in & how sub par his tenure at WVU has been, then he'd jump at the HC job at UMass. But based on his constant excuses, highly touted QBs constantly regressing under him & him not seeming to realize his tenure here is literally one of WVUs worse periods, I don't know if hes smart enough to walk away while it would benefit not only him but WVU at the same time. Maybe I'm wrong yet again, but him going to UMass would be gift horse for him, WVU, & us the WVU fan base.
@@michaelolenick4078 there’s nothing in what I said that screams keep NB. If UMass has NB as a “top choice” then it tells me they are willing to select the worst B12 coach and possible worst P4 HC, to fill their vacancy. It’s not hard to understand. They won’t turn chicken shit into chicken salad.
Ehhh, honestly I think NB is a great HC at the G5 level. If he does end up at UMASS or any other school I wish him nothing but success. It just unfortunately didn't work here.
Remember Neal said when he took the job he would walk away if things weren't really good. Yeah Baker should bring that up at season's end an take all the zone defense coaches with you
This proves all the haters of WVU football were wrong. Coaching football at WVU is a lot more difficult than coaching at a lower level football program. All the haters beittle WVU like they belong in D2 football program. This proves that WVU football requires high level coaching and players.
UMASS is one dismal program. They have never won more than 4 games in a season since moving up to FBS in 2012 and have had five 1-11 seasons. They should go back down to FCS and be competitive. They don’t recruit the talent to play FBS. Their stadium is also probably the worst and smallest in FBS-17,000 capacity and they don’t sell out. Recent home game versus Liberty -9,000 attendance. That program is in way worse shape than he found WVU. I think he will wind up coaching a Sunbelt or Conference USA team before the worst MAC team. Taking that job would be like getting kicked in the teeth, ass & nuts all at once.
Joey Foster did a video tonight and something tells me he knows more than what he is saying? But, he is talking about Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher coming to Morgantown at President and Head Coach, he explained a lot later in his video but it was a very interesting view and I think it could be a possibility. What are your thoughts and does Joey even know what he is talking about?
Yeah, neither of those great West Virginian’s are qualified to be the President of WVU. WVU doesn’t have the money for either one as a coach so not happening!
Honestly I think NB is a great HC at the G5 level. If he does end up at UMASS or any other school I wish him nothing but success. It just unfortunately didn't work here.
I think for a lot of people the season was over when we lost the pit, especially in the fashion that we did. Pat Narduzzi was proven to be right. We are soft and the only reason we have won. Any games is because those teams were even softer. I will give Neil Brown credit, though he finally has gotten through to the players to not be engaging in asinine celebrations after big plays when the game is far from over but I think even that was more about losing to Houston last year and the way they did it seemed like a lot of that stopped after that but what way to learn a lesson
Nobody’s talking about this. But has anybody else heard that former Senator Joe Manchin may be interested in taking over as WVU president when Gordon Gee retires. If that happens, you should know that Manchin and Saban are very close friends. So much so, that Manchin is the god-father of Saban’s kids. So, again, if Manchin would become the University President then Saban might come in, in some capacity, concerning WVU football. Not head coach! But in some advisory capacity. With Saban involved even in some lesser level and with all his connections. They (Manchin and Saban) will bring in the coach that we need at WVU. Think about that!
I’m glad he’s no longer going to be in Washington too. Never liked him as Governor or as our US Senator, never voted for him. But he might be ok as the University President. Especially if he can get Nick Saban involved in WV football in some degree. That was my point.
I know the Lesley family and I can assure you that Jordan didn'y physically harm his wife or kids in anyway. This whole ordeal has been blown out of proportion and will be resolved very soon.
Wren Baker has never fired a coach until the season was over . These donors need to listen on what Wren has done in the past he would be stupid to open his mouth now with two weeks left Wren has a plan he is not saying anything about until the season is over.
I have to disagree that the way the safties is playing isn't NBs fault. Hes the HC, the players he recruited or signed off on & the asst coaches are his choices that he often chose due to loyalty instead of getting the best he could. All of WVUs underperforming falls squarely in his lap for its literally his horse & pony show that hes controlled
@stanleymetzjr I never said it wasn't his fault. I said it wasn't just his fault. He's not the ONLY one to blame. The other brown has been horrible as well. That's it really.
@LockedOnWestVirginia you have that right but I 1000000000% disagree and that's ok. If bigger NFL players couldn't do it i don't think Pat could. Even if he could, WVU couldn't afford to pay them.
@mattewlucas142 It's called integrity. He sent me a link to a REAL FREAKING website that reported on this and I returned the favor. If you can't handle watching someone you occasionally disagree with then that says more about YOU than ME and I don't need you!
The voice of Morgantown is a terrible source of information. It's the fake news of WVU athletics. The reporter writes his articles as if he's a prepubescent boy writing a rebuttal to a break up letter.
@bryanswift6157 All I said is that he sent me a link to an article man. I felt the need to give him credit hc I wouldn't have known otherwise. That's what's fair. I'm a person who values integrity. So I plugged his article as well. You think I don't know that supporting him is a bit dangerous? I do.... but he's honestly been a very good person to me on a personal level. People can't understand that Brad is actually not the controversial person he portrays on a personal level. He actually helped me during a time when I needed it badly
Ok. So if the wolf pack is wanting to pay his buyout, then why haven't they reached out to Baker. It goes both ways. I think the wolf pack is classless.
@LockedOnWestVirginia ok. I understand that. Sorry man but this comment has nothing to do with what I said. Have a great day. P.S. did you know that West Virginia is ranked 5th for highest paid football players in the big 12. Sure doesn't show it.
Neal is a good guy and not a bad coach. He just needs to grow and adjust his decisions and he could do that in them G5.

There shouldn't be scorn for NB. He didn't work out, we should go in a different direction and leave it at that.
If UMass is really scouting NB as a “top choice”, then their program must be in real desperate trouble.
I don't get it. First you want to fire Neal. Now you act like you want him.MAKE UP YOUR MINDS FOLKS!

@@tmcobb04 good point I had read a few stories on that statement in past though I never heard those words
Baker wasn't the AD then.
.
Brown did state that he would leave if he couldn't get the job done because he's a "real nice guy." 😂
But did he define "get the job done?"
Pat for Prezz and on the side... New Head Mountaineer... Let's Gooooo
He may excel at the lower level. He is not a big time coach but he is a good guy but not an upper level coach. I wish him well there.
Neal needs to play DD Farmer more. The kid has off the chart talents but Neal sticks to his rotation of older players.
One of my big criticisms
I hope they do take him. It would save WVU the money from firing him.
Please let this happen! Wait what’s this?…. I know this feeling…. It seems so familiar… is this hope?
Paul, you seem so much happier today. You're glowing!
LMAO
Fading into irrelevancy??? We haven’t been relevant in football in several years, arguably longer.
If he could do better elsewhere he can do it here....and the coaches was hired by him...let him go we deserve better !!!
Paul, I just believe that WVU simply cannot afford to fire Brown
One thing is for sure, Neal Brown will go down in WVU football history as one of the worst football coaches.
This proves all the haters of WVU football were wrong. Coaching football at WVU is a lot more difficult than coaching at a lower level football program. All the haters beittle WVU like they belong in D2 football program. This proves that WVU football requires high level coaching and players.

Yeah and I have heard Rich Rod for OC and they are going to see if they can resurrect Bill Stewart to coach the tight ends.
Saban and Fisher do not get along. They exchanged a lot of harsh words between them when Saban was @ Alabama and Fisher was @ TA&M
@@bwhitmicro1058lmao 😂
There is no chance that Neal Brown leaves West Virginia for UMASS. Accepting the UMASS job would be a step down for him.
That’s what he deserves. He’s not a Power 4 coach in the least.
Why would forgo his buyout of 9.8 million dollars for the next three years?????
Lmao so what sort of lateral mover do you see him taking. What major program would sign him?
@ ZERO. He is more of a Concord, Bluefield divisional HC
Honestly I think NB is a great HC at the G5 level. If he does end up at UMASS or any other school I wish him nothing but success. It just unfortunately didn't work here.
I saw an artical in the houston news paper about then getting dana hogerson 1 month befor dana left wvu
The only way this happens is if Neal Brown instigates this and there is some sort of negotiated buyout.
