Something else that I’m not sure if you knowAmanda Overton, one of the writers, had commented on Twitter that Jinx had friends, plural, and said we can’t know who they are yet, adding another level to some of your theories.

I don't even think the airship thing is a stretch -- like saying it will definitely happen obv is but there's nothing wrong with having that theory.
On the other hand, I think your reasoning about Vi's voice in the trailer is definitely a stretch. She can easily be talking about Jinx's terrorist attack lol, like there's a lot of emotional intensity surrounding that especially Vi's relationship with the perpetrator so I don't see why it wouldn't be enough for her to cry. Also that's assuming she even is crying. Vi doesn't really sound like Vi in the trailer, and I'm guessing the lines for the teaser trailer were recorded long after the lines for the actual episodes so the VA could be out of practice. It's a small thing so I don't think the level of analysis of 'She's definitely crying here' is warranted, let alone the reasoning for why it has to be someone close to her getting hurt

I think the “no one else needs to get hurt” line is referring to Jinx’s attack on Piltover, as Caitlyn’s mother was inside that meeting room, and will most likely be one of the characters to die from that attack. I imagine Vi would feel an insane amount of guilt towards Jinx doing this, especially considering her bond with Caitlyn at this point.

I actually don’t think Cassandra will die. Put in a coma, severely injured, and out of commission for a while yes, but I think there’s more storytelling potential with keeping her alive than killing her outright and making Caitlyn the next member of a huge cast of orphans/broken families. I trust the writers, and so so far they have shown they don’t take the easy path in storytelling
Cassandra dying is easy. It’s expected. Her dying vs nearly dying and being out of commission would achieve the same narrative purpose of guilt ridding Vi and scaring the shit out of Caitlyn and potentially exploring a dark/grief ridden side of her that tests her morals and values.
Where nearly dying has more advantages and variability, in my opinion, is that you can have more obstacles for Caitlyn and Vi. Caitlyn’s character still gets to be tested, then she gets relief finding out her mother will make it, but now Cassandra, who just voted for Zaun’s independence but was nearly killed for it, backpeddles and returns to being a hardliner (freeing Caitlyn to choose to be just as hardlined, or be a foil) She’s already been shown to be overprotective, and could get in the way of Cait and VI’s goals in different ways for the sake of protecting Piltover/her daughter.
Cass surviving means Cait can now resolve the tension between her and her parents. The end state is them finally accepting Cait’s life choices rather than railroading them. Probably coinciding with her finally becoming Sherrif. That’s much harder if Cass is totes dead and Papa Tobias is consumed by grief and even higher fear of losing his daughter too
Relatedly, Vi needs a damn hug and family. I would love to see a simultaneous minor storyline developing where she slowly gets accepted into the Kirraman household, a stable home like she’s never had since childhood, which could lead to all sorts of internal conflict of her losing her connection to the undercity by circumstance and feeling like an outsider on both sides, torn up feelings around interacting with a kind father like Tobias, or strained interactions with Cassandra
Alternatively, Cass surviving and being a foil by backpedaling to her overprotective tendencies could highlight the oil and water question between the gal pals. Will Cait, after nearly losing her mother, cave to the pressure of doing what’s expected of her/choosing piltover or family over Vi? Can Vi even fit into Cait’s life when her sister nearly killed Cait’s mother and best friend and half the council? Would Vi let herself? Will the Kirraman family even want her around while she has to work with Cait? Where does Vi even belong now since she’s so far removed from the undercity and her sister?
There’s also the lore C storyline: this would be harder to introduce if Cait’s mom is dead, and it’s likely to be somewhat set up because it involves another chembaron that S2 could take advantage of introducing.
There’s a lot of characters and a lot of storylines to balance, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Cass does die, just disappointed, cuz it’s easy. But I think there’s a lot more you could have peppered in the background with keeping her alive, and so far the writers have found ways to connect and overlap multiple storylines together beautifully

I think Viktor's development into his Mecha form will be one of the most interesting parts of next season, because he's probably the most morally "good" of the main characters by the end of season 1. He realises he's made mistakes, wants to correct them by destroying the Hexcore but is also smart enough to ask Jayce to do it because he doesn't have the willpower to. He was never tempted to use Hextech as a weapon, his focus was always helping people in need. He even seems to turn his back on trying to prolong his own life, at least using the same method he used on his leg.

@@Zephirite. It’s insane how many people are quick to saying the two sisters are gonna be killing eachother, lol. Maybe they'll fight, but Vi sure heck isn't giving up on her (that would destroy her entire character, and the writers never take the easy route out of these problems).
If Vi DID give up on Jinx, then that goes against the entire theme established in S1 (the unvreakable bonds of love), and spits in the face of her arc. She's not going to abandon her sister again (especially when the show itself condemed her for that decision over and over again). She promised her father that she'd take care of her. The thought of being with her again was all that kept going while she was imprisoned for YEARS. She's stated that she doesn't CARE about the current state of politics between Piltover and Zaun as much as she does reuniting with her sister.
She's explicitly stated that NOTHING is going to change how much she loves her. Even though Jinx convinced herself otherwise, Vi never once said or implied that she'd given up. And after all the points I've listed, it makes sense why.

    • @Zephirite.
      @Zephirite. Год назад +14

@@DLxxx You’re right; the show has been punishing Vi for abandoning Jinx for a while. The thing is…she DIDN’T abandon her. Marcus kidnapped her; the moral choice of abandonment wasn’t made by Vi, yet it still has lasting consequences.
And just as Vi has chosen to seek Powder all these years, Powder has chosen to see herself as Jinx by the end of the season, even if that doesn’t win her her sister’s love. The show’s not just about vindicating VI’s choice, it’s about the tug and pull, the struggle, HAVING to choose, not just overcome obstacles until you get what you want. VI was driven to save Powder until the finale, and still is. But Jinx is equally driven to stay herself. It’s an unstoppable force vs an immovable object, on a collision course where-if they come out alive-their goals will ensure they fight until one is incapacitated.
VI’s also shaken at watching her sister and crush almost murder each other, and now she has to choose. When Cait is safe, Vi is free to risk herself to help Jinx. But when Cait and Vi are fighting her, Vi might have to pull a Powder-like move and incapacitate Jinx to save Cait, but accidentally kill her. Vi does her best, but accidents happen regardless of intent (as Powder has shown).
Your description of s1 Vi is spot-on. This is the track of guilt playing on loop in VI’s brain. But just as Vander taught Vi to protect Powder, he told her that when others look up to her, “anything that happens is on you.” Vi may logically know that the deaths of so many in Piltover are Jinx’s fault, which will force Vi to make a decision and confront this mindset from S1. We know her love for powder is strong, but jinx isn’t powder anymore, and vi has to reckon with that. Caitlyn’s mom dying will radicalize her even more, Ekko already gave up on Jinx as much as she could.
What kind of finale would this be if it didn’t force Vi to reckon with the same monsters that have plagued her sister for so long?
When analyzing a story, we look at what’s there. When predicting, we look at WHY it was there. Why would the writers drive home how much Vi cares if they weren’t going to test it’s limits and force her into an impossible choice? Could you imagine an ending where Jinx willingly agrees to not murder anybody, apologizes for her past, and everyone accepts her? Is Arcane really building to the kind of story that gives Vi what she wants at the expense of anyone else’s character?

Yes! That could actually be quite thematically resonant!
Looking back, it was all because of Jinx's choices this season that Vi was pushed to tackle larger societal issues and become closer with Caitlyn (due to the circumstances). Therefore, _"Vi the Enforcer"_ only exist because of Jinx's mistakes and actions against her sister. Jinx made her own worst nightmares a reality. She _forced_ her sister to become her enemy by dismissing her words, and deciding that she was unloved FOR her (and I know, everyone was able to figure that out looking at season 1's ending, but it’s still worth highlighting).
This parallels Vi's role in Jinx becoming who she is today, albeit to a lesser extent, since Vi only pushed her sister away once.
Still, in the end, their final battle will be all about how they "made eachother this way." "YOU made me become like this!" "This is YOUR fault!"
In the end, after they've aired out all of their feelings, they will both HAVE to come to terms with their roles in eachothers downfall. They'll NEED to take accountability for their own choices and move forward with eachother.

@@maks7355 i feel that it makes sense, because Vi knows what it is like to lose a mother, both parents. Seeing the pain Caitlyn is in, Vi and Cait can finally relate to each other, and thinking about the self blame and the love and care Vi has for Cait, this could lead up to both of them having an emotional moment. In the video, it sounds like Caitlyn isn'[t crying, but she could be. We've never seen her cry except for the last scene, where its completely understandable. Even so, considering other scenes where she has come close to crying, Oil and Water rain scene for example, she still sounds calm and collected towards the end of the argument.
I think that Cait will unintentionally blame Vi, and Vi will accept it as punishment as she will probably blame herself for being a major part in Jinx firing that nuke as an act of war, and potentially killing Cait's mother, as a person who saw her dead parent(s) as a result of war. This immense guilt for hurting Caitlyn like this could lead her to get really emotional as she will probably remember her parents in the moment too, as well as the fresh wound of Powder going full Jinx mode, would lead her to cry. According to her personality, this would lead her to make the action of separating herself and cleaning up her problems herself, to compensate for potentially killing Cait's mother and to protect her from any other threats Jinx may pose,
"I can do this myself... No one else needs to get hurt."
Caitlyn, calm and composed, going over what she said and what Vi is saying, investigates, calculates, and tries to figure out the best course to take, and is determined to find a way to make it work for the both of them. In the teaser she said "...if I go after your sister alone, one of us comes back in a box" and thats could either state that she must go alone to reduce damage, or that going alone isn't the best plan to take. Either way, she's probably laying out the options, putting her emotions aside and doing it for justice and the people she cares about first, and Vi might be reluctant to listen because of the guilt. This could lead to Jinx saying "I'm glad its you, had to be you" to either one of them being there. If not, it could be to Warwick, and Vi and Cait could be in the background somewhere, hiding listening and observing.
If they weren't there, then Cait may have convinced Vi to not do anything, and after all of these scenarios, Vi would suggest to Caitlyn that she becomes an enforcer to make up for her actions and serve true justice for both Piltover and especially Zaun. This is what I think, sorry that its long lol

The one thing I noticed that wasn’t mentioned is about the hex core. Not how it plays in Viktor’s story, but how [SPOILER] it’s very clearly void magic. In lore, that purple fleshy magic is classic void energy, seen all over wherever the void is found. On top of that, I noticed purple was used as a base color for shimmer, and it seemed to originate from those flowers fed to rio, Singed’s mutant wave rider. The fact that Heimerdinger has seen corrupted hex core magic (he said so when he saw the hex core after Viktor changed it with his blood), Heimer saw it when that magic tragedy (in his flashback) happened, the tragedy (one of the flashback clips) also had that fleshy purple stuff, that singed and Heimer parted ways, and that singed was tending to this purple flower garden is not all coincidence. I feel that moment when Viktor looked into the light of the hex gate was never really addressed as to what exactly caused that, but in lore, the void has a tendency to “reach out” and “call” to people. Furthermore, as you stated, the core seems to have some ability to connect or communicate or something with Viktor’s purple parts.
I believe this is somehow going to play into Viktor’s conversion to all metal because the Void is very…fleshy. That Purple hex core literally whispering sweet nothings to Viktor is classic Void theme, and I think story goodness is brimming there. I’m sure there’s more to talk about but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. What’s does anyone else think?

While I like the idea of it ending at season 2 so there’s no worry of it getting cancelled, I think the arcs of each characters are so complex that it needs 3 seasons. I disagree. I think if three seasons are deeicated to Pilotver/Zaun, people will begin to subconsciously relate that locationa nd those characters as being synonymous with Arcane. But the world is vast, the characters/champions broad and diverse. It would be a disservice to stay locked up in one city for three whole seasons when there are so many other stories to tell. The religious conflict in Targos; Noxian on the warpath; the Mage Revolt in Demacia; Bildgewater shenanigans; the return of Shurima. These are just a few examples.
Two seasons in Piltover gives up a beginning and an end. We don't rush character's stories but we also don't lag around. And who knows, there could potentially be crossovers down the line.

I think we can expect a lot more character development from Vi this season. She didnt seem to change much from the beginning of the first season to the end, almost 7 years, and shes been the same person. This is not necessarily a bad thing, she is stubborn and intense with her loyalty to the people she cares about, but this stunt in growth is probably due to trauma. We forget that even though Jinx has had a lot happen to her, Vi has too. She saw her parents being murdered as a child and then the entirety of her foster family, and constantly experienced the guilt she felt due to abandoning her sister. We havent seen how all of this has affected her yet, and I'm expecting a big breakdown from Vi the next season, a scene where she lets her shield down and stops trying to give off that strong-front. I think the thing with Cait will also get a lot more complicated, Caitlyn feels betrayed, she lost her mother, she failed at her mission at getting at Silco, lost her boss, and all the foundation and reality she was brought up with. She might have been lenient with Vi concerning Jinx at first, but I doubt shes going to show any mercy at all now. Vi will have to choose between one of the only two people she loves, and I dont think she'll be able to do this with the same "bravery" and "courage" shes shown before. In addition to all of this, I think the scene in the third where Vander took shimmer, in his disgruntled form Vi looked at him and was scared and uncomfortable as to see what he has become. This has to add even more pressure and complications to what team she has to choose, she has to have the worst kind of psychological dilemma to see her once-dead pacifist father figure as violent wolf-man, how will she have the power to even fight him, and same concerning Jinx, her past is her biggest strength and weakness, and we'll have to see if she overcomes it or not.

I think its worth noting that "semi-crazed science cult leader" is *not* what Viktor is in LoL, its everyones perception of him. LoL Viktor has nothing to do with the crazy body mod cult that was created in his name. He made Blitzcrank to help people and he (rightfully) sees "human error" as the most common cause of tragedy and is seeking to correct it. He wants to help people but prudes like Jayce see his methods as crazy because they dont understand the reality of living in Zaun.

    • @chloeanzai7344
      @chloeanzai7344 2 года назад +130

I’d argue that he is semi-crazed and at his worst approaches a cult-like mindset, though he’s retained enough self-control not to become an actual cult leader. He’s a likable and sympathetic character with good intentions, which has resulted in people over-sympathizing with his actual actions (similar to how some fans view Silco). Jayce and Viktor’s LoL bios both clearly utilize unreliable narration. Viktor thinks that saving/improving people justifies the means and this allows him to freely help others but also results in disregard for safety and consequence, Jayce does not and this retards his ability to help people but also allows for reasonable safeguards.
His quotes are a bit outdated, but even in the Arcane-influenced Legends of Runterra he speaks like a supervillain and espouses his “Glorious Evolution” though he doesn’t force it on others. He gives a kid and attempts to give divers mind-altering devices, which may be helpful in some situations but overrides essential biological warnings. (Just make a diver robot, don't fuck with people's brains.) That’s cult-like behavior.
Viktor has improved his consent issues by the time of “House on Emberlift Alley,” but from the Factorywood spill in his bio, if consent can’t be given he may still operate and at the end of the day, he’s more obsessed with saving than concerned about means (armed robbery and attempted murder, brain removal) and quality of life (not dead, but with questionable personhood). Everyone knows his ‘solutions' “often [bring] unexpected consequences” (which sounds like the unreliable narrator trying to put spin on a worse adjective) and only the desperate seek his help. Arguably the severity of Viktor’s treatment of the Factorywood victims (so bad he had to remove their brains from their bodies and leaving them mindless enough to obey commands like “kill him”) may have saved the chem-spill victim’s from death, but still would have left them shells of their former selves, possibly in a drone-like state just above being braindead. The bio even admits that his methods “would save these people - in a manner of speaking,” implying that that salvation might not actually be desirable. While Jayce was wrong to attack without listening to an explanation, Viktor’s treatment was not humane, ethical, or possibly even wanted. It was like forcing a dying person (ie. late stage cancer, severe Alzheimers/dementia, unbearable physical pain) to live when euthanasia might be kinder, which of course Viktor can’t relate to as he himself chose to live no matter the cost.
Basically fans (I'm a fan, but also playing devil's advocate) are producing a romanticized representation of him and I think this dilutes what makes the character interesting. He’s not actually ‘right’ or ‘good,’ he’s an extremist who, like many extremists, thinks he’s right and aims to do good. Same for Jayce. This is exactly why they are in conflict: they both think they’re right, but actually need to tone it down and compromise. This is also why Ekko, our reasonable third party, can’t stand either of them: they're two opposite extremes.
*Also, a version of Factorywood would be a great Vader “NO!” moment. In his anger, he ordered his own patients to kamikaze themselves.

So! You are not wrong, BUT there’s also externalities not in his lore. He is being changed into a non-flesh form, but it’s also different his armored, plated form in LoL. I’d argue his transformation is coded similarly to the Void, given the symbolism when his blood mixes with the Hexcore. The Void would also make sense as an origin of the tragedy that Heimerdinger was traumatized by, *and* it would make sense that the Hexcore would have a desire to be used, to expand the influence of Void in the world.
With that framework, suddenly we have a group who could easily function as a uniting enemy against Noxus. Noxus may be warmongers, intent on conquest, but they do not intend on consuming all life.

It clearly means Caitlyn is trying to get revenge on Jinx to the point where one of them is unavoidably going to die unless anyone else impedes it, or thus she feels. And I think Vi's answer is related to the same conversation, and not another that they could have possibly put together with this, like it's done in many trailers. She doesn't want to see Caitlyn consumed by vengeance and neither wants to see her sister or her "good friend" hurt. And that's why Caitlyn wants to go after her. 22:04 - Is anyone else interested in seeing the new dynamic between Jinx and Sevika?
I find the potential to flesh out the both of them to be really exciting for season 2; namely Jinx's approach to forming relationships. Currently Jinx's relationships are extremely polarizing, she's either completely indifferent (Cait, Mylo, etc.), or unhealthily attached (Young Vi, Silco). She pretty much has a blank slate of relationships at the end of S1 which definitely gives her the chance to grow as a character since it wouldn't make sense for her to latch on to the first person she sees. But most importantly they she happens to have a lot in common with Sevika at the time (their link to Silco, consumption of Shimmer and its effects, and perhaps their attempts to get clean are just a few of them).
I'm mainly hoping for Jinx to be able to learn healthier approaches to her attachments to other people. And I think Sevika is not only the most likely person but the best one to show her this since I really can't see Sevika to babying her like Vi/Silco did, but I also don't expect her to kick Jinx to the kerb after the death of their leader perhaps out of respect for Silco - at least until she finds out how Silco died.

@@user-yh8li2tm8g I agree, and thanks for the response! It would be a great opportunity for Sevika to grey the lines with how Jinx forms relationships so they aren't frequently based on toxic attachment or cruel pococurante, but an acquaintanceship based on the mutual respect between both characters given what they've been through, and what they're fighting for. I could also imagine Jinx potentially helping Sevika with her fragile arm prosthetic, opening up another plot point about Jinx's potential to FINALLY help people with her talents, while also showing Sevika the benefits of forming relationships that aren't directly related to the advancement of her desires. I'm definitely postulating excessively here but I can't help but see it as a waste of material to not flesh out their relationship. :3 :)

    • @no.6377
      @no.6377 2 года назад +36

That's an interesting take. I honestly think Sevika holds a lot of disdain for Jinx and seems to see her as more a liability than anything else. Sevika respects and stays loyal to strength through and through - Jinx, as we and Sevika know her, is too unstable to make a good leader/partner. So I totally believe she would kick Jinx to the curb and be done with her like she wanted to in the first place("She's a problem and we all know it"). I also think word would travel fast about how Silco died.
But I _really_ hope I'm 100% wrong, because I believe Sevika could actually be a good(.... Relatively) influence on Jinx. Like you said, she wouldn't be babied! What a twist would it be if Sevika were the one to push Jinx into finally confronting her trauma?😭👌 Sevika definitely knows about what haunts Jinx - she saw and understood how she froze up and lost it during that first fight scene. She also unfortunately knows just which buttons to press to hurt her( like calling her a jinx and saying Vi replaced her)

    • @ishanbanik4772
      @ishanbanik4772 2 года назад +11

@@no.6377 Definitely, I think S1 has effectively displayed the weaknesses and that Jinx possesses, and even though it is itself a triumph for "Vi's sister" to accept that she is Jinx and not Powder, it's also a more-than-fair take to say that there are components about herself that she should want to work on even if Silco may praise them. I'm thinking that S1 answers the question about "who Jinx is", but I think S2 will likely answer the question about "who Jinx can be?" both for herself and potentially for other people. I'd find there would be little point for her arc if writers were to reaffirm the "Jinx is a Jinx" trend that's dominated S1, so while I can see her being ejected from any relationships in at the beginning of S2 for killing Silco, it would definitely be her rock bottom, meaning things could only improve for her arc from there.

This third fight, with Jinx upgrades, she wins over Vi (maybe Warwick came in the end letting Sevika fight the man she betray and said it was weak, showing her how strong he really is. It will also be very important to Vander because if she wouldn´t betray him, the story wouldn´t be the same)

To me Ekko's arch is obvious when you look at who he becomes in LoL lore:
He tries to convince Heimerdinger throughtout season 2, to help him create time travel, so that they can change the past and "save everyone". Obviously that won't work, but to me Ekko's season 1 arch tells us that he wants to honor the past and that the friends lost live on with their memories and the way they honour them. That to me translates into "wanting to see them again" thus Z-drive is eventually created, so I'd expect to see a prototype of it developed during this season. And some type of "well, it's theoretically possible to go back that far and save them all... but..." moment where we see Ekko's character growth as in letting the past go.

I don’t know League lore at all, just some bits and pieces I’ve been curious about, so I’m just gonna throw it out there. When we see Ekko in Episode 1 of Act 3, he talks about how many people they’ve lost, and how most of the deaths were caused by Silco and, therefore, Jinx. Later during that episode, we see a fight between him and Jinx, where he sees Powder in her. So, like, there’s clear connection between them (I know there’s a voice line regarding that in the game, but the show’s a little different). And now that Jinx shot the rocket at the council, which will most likely kill everyone except for Jayce, Victor and, potentially, Mel, it’s clear a war will start and everything bad that comes with it will follow. I think that’s gonna be the whole conflict of Ekko, where he sees how AWFUL everything is now, not Silco-level of awful but even worse. He’ll probably learn somehow that Jinx was the one to cause all that, and since there’s still this kind of connection between them, he’ll try to fix it by creating the Z-Drive and going back in time to try and fix what happened to her. But he’ll eventually fail and accept that he can’t change the past, so he can only try and change the future.

They both are represented of the wolf, and whereas Ambessa’s personality shifts to one, Vander actually BECOMES one. And yet despite their looks, Vander (Warwick) is more human in personality while Ambessa is only human in looks.

One point of disagreement: Jayce's arc didn't end with him no longer seeing himself as young or green. In fact, his big argument for why Zaun should be given independence was that *no one* in the council or from piltover had the experience or knowledge or the ability to help Zaun. Only the actual people of Zaun can help Zaun. His arc ended in him acknowledging that he doesn't, and never will, have everything figured out. Jayce is constantly changing his beliefs throughout the story whenever he's pressured to go the other way. His flip-floppyness is a manifestation of the fact that he doesn't know what he's doing and so is very easily convinced to do what others tell him to do.
Not to say I don't think Jayce won't "become the warhawk". More specifically I think his arc in season 2 will be about really solidifying his ideals and standing by his decisions instead of existing in this continuous flux state where he doesn't actually know what he's doing. This was something that was kind of developing in Season 1 already, since the decision to give Zaun independence is the one big time he makes a decision like this not only without external pressure, but actually going against the external convictions of Vi who is still pushing for violence. So he may start out looking for war, but I think he will be at inner conflict about how he should stand which will be resolved at the end of the season, probably with him siding with Mel (regardless of the state of their relationship at the end of the season).

In season 2 I think we will see him making his own (probably huge) decisions and that this will be the final straw with mel and/or viktor. I love that Swain is in your character predictions. A scene that possibly supports this is when Jinx goes back to her childhood arcade/hideout, and callously shoots the bird. Crows and ravens are present in League, crows for Fiddlesticks, ravens for Swain. It could have been a crow, but I highly doubt Fiddlesticks would be there just to watch Jinx lose a boxing match against herself. Swain, however, gathers intelligence from his ravens. It could be entirely possible that he's been watching Zaun from afar, realizing that either Silco or Jinx could be a catalyst that gives him what he wants. The possible downside to this theory is where in the timeline this falls according to cannon League lore(which has already been confirmed to not really matter for Arcane, but it's something). Swain only has his raven powers after the first invasion of Ionia, and during that invasion, horrific chemical attacks were made by none other than Singed. So if the raven watching/getting shot is Swain's, the first few waves of invasion have already hit Ionia and Singed is a bonafide war criminal who has committed heinous crimes against humanity. It could also mean that the girl Ambessa killed in front of Mel was Ionian, and not only that, she could have been one of Irelia's siblings.

I don't think Jinx's and Vi's final act will be their ultimate separation. I think their final act will be to confront the past together, which as you said Warwick will help them with in some way or another. Also, although jinx rejected her sister in the end, I don't think she completely let her go. There are just some people in Jinx's life that she's not willing to give up, in life or death. We see this in the fact that she has these puppets and reminders of the people she thought of her family that she puts in her hideaways, or whatever she considers home. And ultimately that's Powder's biggest virtue, she loves her family, weather it be Silco, Vi, even trash talking Mylo. So I think the 2nd season will in some way highlight her biggest virtue, and confront that virtue with her flaws. Like she did throughout the first season, but this time in her isolation from the world, and her seperation from Silco, she might look more inwards. And ultimatly she will finally trust her sister or be consumed in madness. And whatever the outcome may be, it will also be her sister who contributes to it.

I think Viktor and Jayce going to have disagreement regarding hextech and ownership of the technology. If I remember correctly, they have similar conflict in the game. Most likely in aftermath of Jinxes attack and inevitable response from Piltover many civilians on both sides going to be hurt. It possible Viktor will try to help his fellow zonites with hextech, and Jayce may not like that. From his point of view zonites already used "his" invention for destruction, even after he offered them peace, so they can't be trusted. Viktor will remind Jayce, that technology would have been destroyed and Jayce would be dead, if he did not interfered, and that he figured out crucial part to make it work, so he can call hextech "his" as much, as Jayce. Jayce would argue, that Zaun dealt unspeakable damage with only one crystal, giving them more will be irresponsible. Viktor would remind him, they made this invention to help ordinary people no matter where they're from, and Jayce betraying this vision by using their invention as political tool. So it all goes down hill from there.
Regarding Heimerdinger, I think amidst all the mess his students done with magic, he may come to conclusion, that he had to remember his yordle roots and use it himself. Maybe to protect Ekko and his village, or maybe even help him develop his time controlling technology.

I've been predicting since the rocket first hit that the split between Jayce and Viktor starts in that rubble. Mel and her shiny back sense keeps her and Jayce more or less safe from the blast, but Viktor gets supremely messed up. Jayce goes against Viktor's wish to destroy the hexcore and instead uses it to save Viktor's life, not just from the disease but from the damage of the rocket as well. That betrayal of a promise and stripping away of agency forms the rift between the two friends. Worth noting, the hexcore gives Viktor a crystalline body that isn't all that mechanical. If Viktor is trying to undo some of the influence of the hexcore by replacing more and more of his new body with mechanical parts, that could explain his drive for machines.

I agree with you on the majority of what you said, but I think that the "resolution" of the whole Piltover/Zaun Vi/Jinx thing will happen maybe in s3 before moving on to other places and characters, just because it's gonna be THAT amount of chaos, especially if they want to introduce new characters in s2
Also, now that I think about it:
    - I think that Ekko's line to Caitlyn "if your people had your way it'd be rubbling ash" (or something like that) when talking about the firelight hideout COULD be foreshadowing
    - What Vi says in the s2 teaser may not be referred to Jinx, but to Warwick perhaps (?) or it could be somebody else. I think it's intentional mislead. Maybe she's not even talking to Caitlyn
    - I don't think that "everyone" will want to go after Jinx. Everyone from Piltover for sure, but Idk about Zaun.
It is highly hypothetical of course, but it could be very similar to how things happened in ep2: no one really gives a shit if a crime was done in Piltover or who did it, everyone will simply take a chance to rebel against topside (I'm not taking into account the firelights here); not to mention that, indeed Jinx will be a lone wolf, but perhaps she'll want to be "fair" to Silco, and keep her destructive capacities for Piltover specifically, and perhaps if she ends up doing a major damage (in the physical sense) to Zaun in could be another accident
    - Given that Silco stated the risk of being killed was something he was always aware of, he MIGHT have some kind of "plan" or procedure for that case scenario. And maybe Renata is a part of that and that's how she's introduced (?)
    - As far as I know about Warwick's lore (as much relevance the lore of league of legends can have given that it was stated that show won't be 100% faithful to the game), he hunts down the chembarons and all the zaunites who left for Piltover, so (weirdly enough) I think that, at least in the beginning stage of his arc, he might establish a closer relationship with Jinx than with Vi

Most regular Zaunites just want to be left alone and she just made shit worse for pretty much everybody. I think people overlook the effect shimmer had on her, it truly emphasized the demons as she was getting injected and it made it harder to actually be able to listen to the voice of Reason in the form of Powder. Maybe them finding a way to reverse the effects become a big plot point in this show. Because I don’t see Warwick being introduced as Vander without Vi and Jinx having some type of father resolution, and I don’t see that happening without going over what the heck happened at the end of EP 9. I think Mel could be legitimately dead. I actually think her story is pretty well resolved where it is. She started as a wishy-washy politician and could die doing the ultimately moral thing. Plus her death would be great motivation for both Jayce and Ambessa in going full warhawk. I could see Ambessa trying to use the attack as motivation for persuading the Piltover characters to go scorched earth mode and Jayce falling for it. Personally I think Ambessa has more potential for growth as a character than Mel in her current form. Plus I just feel like we'll need to lose major characters as a result of Jinx's actions at the end of season one (besides Cait's mom who's a total goner). We're not losing Jayce or Viktor, so we might have to part with the only other vulnerable main character.
Plus her death could add a key similarity to the arcs of Jayce and Viktor, both of whom would have lost a person they were close to as a direct result of their actions (or inaction). Which would ultimately prove to be ironic because both of them are destined to continue barreling down the paths of destruction rather than commiserating over their failures and coming together as a result. Then again, she would be a hard character to part with so I guess we'll see!

It may be possible that Viktor dies in the attack. When Viktor first asked Jayce 'how much time do I have left?', the scene immediately cuts away to Sevika throwing down two very specific cards: Death and Magician. If I was a betting man, I'd put it all down on that right there was the biggest foreshadow of Viktor's fate. He will die and due to his symbiosis with the hexcore, it might feel forced or obligated in saving Viktor from an terminal end and rebuild his body to complete hextech form.

In the lore, Noxus has done business with Zaun (and Piltover, like what we see in Season 1) - but specifically with Singed. They went to him for his chemicals in order to tip the odds in their favor in their war with Ionia.
And these chemicals unleashed were so horrific that it resulted in the geocide of an entire sub-culture of Ionia (the Wuju, where Master Yi is from) and wiped out nearly all surrounding Noxian soldiers. (Leaving a lone survivor, Riven, completely scarred for life and questioning her place as a Noxian.)
It was the first thing I thought of in Arcane with Singed, and with Ambessa mentioning the need for weapons. I imagine they may go in that direction to lead up to focus more on Noxus after Season 2, especially with how the focus is "war".

Is there anything else that gives the impression that Arcane will be split up into several multi-season arcs focusing on different casts?

since the first season came out, i just assumed they would change characters and storylines every two or three seasons, or finish this one plot we have rn and be done with the show entirely.
the story of jinx and vi can have a definite conclusion, and if they just keep dragging it out to squeeze six seasons or more out of it would definitely ruin it. i think the logical way to handle this show is to keep expanding on the political storyline while developing new personal storylines.
idt they would get rid of vi and jinx and the others though, it would be stupid to just forget about characters they've spent so much time on. i think they'd just find out how to balance them out with new characters that would end up taking more relevance for the sake of development.

Also by making it so ekko has to set a save point we can avoid situations where he just goes back in time whenever something bad happens, that way he can only time travel when hes expecting to need to.

i agree with a lot of these!! one of the things that i think you missed though was the fact that vi's conflict in season 2 could also relate to her trauma with what happened in episode 3 and with stillwater because those are both wildly unresolved. episode 9 really just tears open all these old wounds with how much it parallels episode 3: vi is restrained (the door falling on top of her, jinx tying her up), an attempt is made to save a family member (vander, jinx), she is powerless to do anything as it all goes wrong, someone/people die(s), there are blue clouds made by a hextech crystal which was used by jinx, it even takes place at the same cannery. vi also clearly blames herself for a lot of what has happened with jinx and episode 3 (congrats vander, you gave this child a guilt complex instead of teaching her responsibility) and if caitlyn's mom does die, that is going to layer on the guilt even further. not to mention prison is not a good place to process the trauma of losing your family because of your sister fucking shit up and lashing out at said sister, especially when you are getting routinely beat by guards and other prisoners. unfortunately a few days out of prison and with a pretty girl cannot fix that. especially considering everything else in s1- vi's mental state is not going to be doing so well.

I love these kinds of videos. I tend to think Mel dies in the explosion. Her arc was complete the moment she defiled her own painting and took off her ring and voted for peace. She rejected the ways of her family and chose her 12 year old self rather than her mother. Obviously Viktor survives. Jayce has to survive because someone in Piltover needs to understand how to create more Hextech but it's apparent Viktor's going to go his own way. He won't be able to bring himself to fight the Undercity. This will set up an alliance between Mel's mother and Jayce where Jayce will be the leader and Mel's mother his general/enforcer. We already saw her in his ear in episode 8 and he will be looking for guidance without Mel. In exchange for Hextech she will bring in parts of her own military to defend Piltover. As the story progresses, Jayce will begin to realize she's slowly taking over and setting up Piltover as a client state to Noxus.
I have this image of the denizens of the Undercity pouring into an undefended Piltover right after the Jinx attack and wreaking havoc. I also suspect Jinx will go into hiding and truly become an independent agent. Characters will talk about her, but she doesn't have a clear agenda now. Her attacks on Piltover were to please Silco, and not out of any personal malice. If she has any focus at all it will be Vi and Caitlin, but that doesn't feel right. She had her chance to eliminate Caitlin and she chose to leave her alive. I think she's done with it. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Vi/Jinx story centers around Vi trying to find Jinx.
I have to say I like the idea of the Jinx pirate zeppelin. That would be a very cool image with a crow-feather motif and monkey flag.

While I understand your point, I must say "better 2 fantastic seasons and move on" rather than have the season when Vi cheats on Cait and Jinx hook up with jayce or victor. so many shows fail for me because the showrunner/studio did not know when to say quit on a high note.

There are a lot more interesting Runeterran regions than the twin cities though. Piltover has always been my favorite (because I like steampunk) but I like Ionia too.. and Targon.. and the skinline alternate universes especially Star Guardians and Odyssey.
And there are also more interesting characters like Jinx.. a lot of them actually.

@@hinnyu7748 I think it is an advantage to have introduced Noxus. It can lead in so many directions from that point as they are embroiled in so many conflicts. The Darius cinematic "After Victory" is a nice primer to the Noxus way of thinking.

Well, LOL has many characters and a wide world building. Just because they'll end Arcane with 2 seasons doesn't mean there isn't enough material to work for future series if they wish so. Just that the focus would shift on different characters, seetings and goals (and maybe small cameos from Arcane). But that's wishful thinking, let's just hope the second season would be just as good as the first.

Also involving Viktor, let's not forget that in Season 1 his Bio arm is already shown in Arcane. It's what grazed Heimerdinger's pet Poporo. Although I think that is more of a prototype since it doesn't look like the weapon he uses in LoL.

Ekko’s time travel is only a few seconds so it isnt a super serious thing. It basically makes for incredible fight scenes and a redo button. Maybe they will even put a limit on it like “I can rewind 5 times”

@@hwaryun7042 According to the devs that worked on Ekko, in the lore it actually does heal all the physical damage he takes in a fight. HOWEVER, his brain still registers the attack, so he still feels pain even after he rewinds, so if Ekko gets his ribs broken in a fight and rewinds, his ribs will be fixed but he will still feel like his ribs are shattered, which is pretty hardcore. So how many times Ekko can realistically rewind in a fight pretty much comes down to how much pain he can endure before he just collapses from the pain and exhaustion.

Season 1 does show how Ekko's time device works. He presses "save" on the device, and then he can jump back to that moment within a predetermined amount of time. He couldn't save the pink-haird girl because Jinx shot her after the time had run out. He won against Jinx because he was able to play out the fight within the time limit and reset.

Theory time: I don't think Mel will be the one to save them. I think it will be the hexcore. Remember when the hexcore took away victor's newfound strength? I think it will give it back to Victor temporarily. In fact, I think it will give him more power than before, which gives him the time to get jayce out of the blast zone, saving his life once again.
Only this time, Jayce will not be grateful, because Mel was nearest to the explosion and Viktor didn't bother to save her. This will be the beginning of the conflict between Jayce and Viktor. Mel surviving will soften the blow, but it will still brew tension.
Look at it this way: Viktor gets ability to save them but only has time to save Jayce along with him. Continuing the cycle of saving each other.
Jayce thinks Mel is dead and blames Viktor in his anger and shock. Viktor is saddened by his ungratefulness unlike last time.
Jayce blames himself for trusting Zaun and insults Viktor for being a Zaunite, for being the same as them. This pushes Viktor further to Zaun.
Next it could go two ways:
    1. Mel survives but is horribly injured and Jayce starts caring for her more.
    2. Mel doesn't survive and things escalate even faster.
But hey that's just a theory
    a half-arsed theory!
    Thanks for reading

If Mel dies, and Madarda takes up residence in Piltover in the wake of the council attack, I could see her taking up a leadership role. But I think if she does, it will be short-lived, as Swain/son-killer will likely come for her, perhaps introduce us to one of the assassins from the game.
If Mel survives and is uninjured (via a Zhonia's effect as has been hypothesized), then I could see the rift between her and her mom getting larger, but it won't change keep Viktors and Jayce's relationship from falling apart, and like you said I think Jayce isn't going to trust Viktor anymore.

I found it interesting that when they were at the opera theatre in season 1, Mel (I think) said "your audience awaits" while looking down at the theatre ,which is a line associated with Jhin. Perhaps the violinist in that scene could've been Jhin, or it was teasing his presence for season 2.

I think Cait going after jinx is exactly that. Going after her, somewhere in Zaun. I don't think it's more complicated than that really, because at this point in the story, no one other than Vi and Caitlyn know about Jinx's attack, and maybe some councillors who survived.

Noxus' involvement is probably related to their invasion in Ionia, which could easily lead next series to other regions promptly. Also, during this timeline (if the invasion is still not done) Swain is not a Noxian leader at all, but someone who goes to war and loses his arm there, makes a pact with the raven demon to get his badass lookin' new arm and use this power to overthrow Boram Darkwill and set the Trifarix into Noxian leadership.
As for Singed's daughter, we may finally get the reveal that his real name is Corin Reveck and he started his twisted medical carreer to save his child's life, who looks a lot like Orianna in the picture from his locket.

Thoughts on Ekko: I like the Hindenburg idea, and think it would be great if he worked with Heimerdinger to create souped-up hoverboards to attack zeppelins. We could see an attack by the Firelights on the warships, leading to the Firelights' defeat. That would show us how hard it is to take down Jinx's airborne defenses. More importantly, Ekko is the new Vi in the sense that he knows there's a glimmer of Powder in Jinx, and Jinx saw that he recognized her as who she once was. He won't change her - she's too far gone for redemption in his eyes - BUT I think he would be the one person she'd agree to talk to if there ever was a negotiation. Maybe he asks that she doesn't attack a certain target. She sends him on his way, but surprise! she withdraws her attack. This doesn't mean she'd change overall, but it gives us a teeny reminder that she isn't just a cookie-cutter villain.

It's super interesting how all the areas you predicted wrong were overestimations: in one video you thought ambessas rage had to be fueled by a painful loss meaning mel was dead, and here you thought vi crying meant someone directly close to her must have gotten hurt.
that highlights how easy it is to latch on to single ideas. it's possible for ambessa to be fueled not out of rage but opportunity, for example, which is hard to consider when making predictions

I have some thoughts about Ekko's character arc:
Like just about all of the other characters, Ekko is very sure of what he wants. He want's to help the people of the undercity. And he does! I think we will see more of that in season two. However, knowing the wonderful skill of the writers, he has some unresolved internal conflict that will be further developed. We saw a bit of this when he was talking with Vi: "If I had just gone with you that day..." And that was the end of it. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's reminiscing about a mistake he made in the past given that his thing is time travel. We'll probably see him with the time tech in the first act.
Back to the internal conflict: we know what he wants, but we also know that there's more that he cares about: Vi and Jinx. My prediction: I think Ekko is going to go after Jinx (with the same idea as Vi, but a separate conflict), and if he messes up, he's just going to try over and over since he can rewind time. This also fits into the tragic theme of Arcane. Ekko's possible obsession over helping Jinx or resolving whatever internal conflict he has will be very emotional to watch.

Thinking about the line of “sins of the father” makes me wonder if season two will focus slightly more on Vi’s character arc. Season one was about Jinx stepping into herself. Because of, and despite, Silco’s fatherly influence on her. Thematically, to pair with the sisters’ Yin and Yang energy, that would make sense to me if in this chapter Vi wrestles with stepping into her own power and authority. Because of, or despite, Vander’s fatherly influence in her life. ❤

I think we *will* see Fiddlesticks, but in a future season. They haven't even touched on the demons at all yet, and I think they'll wait to introduce them until we get to a different region. The regions have different flavors (Piltover/Zaun = different types of steampunk, so they run on different types of fantastical science; some of the other regions run on power[Noxus/Demacia], or gods/determination[Freljord], or spirituality/nature[Ionia], or tradition[Shurima], or memory[Shadow Isles], and I bet we'll get the demons tied in to one of the ones that's a more natural fit for them. ALTHOUGH, they have likely already tied Swain in, so we may get a slight intro to the concept of demons through him, but I highly doubt we'll meet any more yet.

My guess about Viktor becoming the "Machine Herald" is that Jayce will do it to him, using the Hex core, against Viktor's explicit instructions already expressed.
