    Lots of sewing channels don't really teach us how to make a certain dress. That isn't always so straightforward but you really simplified it for us. Thank you ♡ ~

    Thank you for going through the multiplications. So much easier then some of the other videos.
    This was my 1st clothing project as I'm new to sewing and the hardest part was the maths and cutting and joining material to be wide enough. Struggled with the elastic band (it keeps twisting) but I watched some other videos and have sort of fixed it. Great for a first clothing project.
    Thanks again!

    Thanks for simplifying this process Always wanted to make such a skirt and you make it so easy Impressed that you used bedsheets Just goes to show that one doesn't need expensive fabrics to make a good item Thanks

    i made this skirt this weekend over 2 days with lots of breaks and also used bed sheets, not sure if i lined the grain correctly but the skirt turned out pretty good! it was the first clothing piece ive made. it’s a little too flowy for me so i am going to make another and use a multiplier of 1.25 instead of 1.5

    This a great video ❤️ Thank you so much for making it simple & easy to understand!
    Love the doggie too, this is the second sewing video I've seen today of someone with the fabric laid out on the floor & the dog comes up & stands on the fabric looking for some cuddles and a pat, I think its so sweet 🐶

    What should be the multiplier? I dont get the utility.

    • @vivini7828
      @vivini7828 Месяц назад +1

      I'm not the creator, but basically, you get to choose your multiplier, and essentially, what this does is determine how full (aka how many ruffles or how gathered) your skirt will be. So the lower the amount will require less fabric and make dress more smooth and flat as there is not as much gathers, and the opposite for the larger the multiplier.

    • @martina9468
      @martina9468 25 дней назад +2

      I think of the multiplier as how much bigger the other sections are in comparison to the first one. The bigger the multiplier the wider at the bottom (flowy) and more ruffled your skirt. She used 1.5 but you could use 2 or 2.5 to create a flowy-er skirt than hers

    I would've liked sewing definitions. What are "basting"?? Stitches, mentioned at 4.14seconds? When were they put in, what does this mean?

    • @shaleseatlante
      @shaleseatlante  3 месяца назад +3

      That's a good idea! Will definitely keep in mind for the next tutorial. Basting stitches are seams with a long stitch lenght where you don't backstitch at the beginning or end so that you can pull the bobbin thread to gather fabric or can be used to keep fabric pieces in place before the final seam - can be helpful with zippers for example. Hope this helps!

    what fabric should be used?

    • @shaleseatlante
      @shaleseatlante  Месяц назад

      Would say you could use any light to medium weight fabric, I like cotton and linen!

    • @shaleseatlante
      @shaleseatlante  Месяц назад

      Just make sure it’s not too heavy for the gathers, lighter weight fabric will be more flowy too

    • @Mira.Philippaerts
      @Mira.Philippaerts 3 месяца назад

      Hey, not sure if you still need it but i kinda managed to figure out what lenght i used
      1. Total hight : 33cm
      Total lenght : 132cm
      2. Total hight : 38cm
      Total lenght : 152cm
      3. Total hight : 49,5cm
      Total lenght : 198cm
      I already converter it to CM and i'm not sure what it is in inch but you can look that up if needed :)

    What is a multiplier?

    • @shaleseatlante
      @shaleseatlante  3 месяца назад

      It's a number to use to calculate each tier length so that the gathering can be consistent! The larger, the more volume/fabric.

      It's just a number you can use to calculate the length of each tier for a consistent amount of gathering!
