    just a heads up, ripping will only work this way with a woven fabric!

      Thank you so much because I wanted to make this with the velvet I have. I’ve never sewn but I’m done being scared of messing up my sewing machine or fabric. I’ll probably do a test run with cheaper fabric though hehe.

    • @AllyBurkholder
      @AllyBurkholder 4 месяца назад +3

      @@sunkittyleo Velvet is (at least usually) woven, although I'm not sure if it would split AS nicely or if you'd end up with little fur everywhere. Also, depending on the type of velvet, be aware that it might not drape the same, as it can be thicker and/or stiffer. You might find luck with shorter rectangles (so less gathering, as it could be really thick to sew through!) Don't get discouraged, although if you struggle a nice cotton might make you feel more comfortable with the machine. Good luck!

I've been confused by how to match the middle tier to the top one and the bottom to the middle since no one actually showed them. I'm so happy i found this video as you actually showed how to gather and make them align.
