Thank you so much because I wanted to make this with the velvet I have. I’ve never sewn but I’m done being scared of messing up my sewing machine or fabric. I’ll probably do a test run with cheaper fabric though hehe.
@@sunkittyleo Velvet is (at least usually) woven, although I'm not sure if it would split AS nicely or if you'd end up with little fur everywhere. Also, depending on the type of velvet, be aware that it might not drape the same, as it can be thicker and/or stiffer. You might find luck with shorter rectangles (so less gathering, as it could be really thick to sew through!) Don't get discouraged, although if you struggle a nice cotton might make you feel more comfortable with the machine. Good luck!
I’m here 2 years too late 🤭 but this is amazing!! The instructions are super clear and you make it look so easy. I’m planning on making my own in black ☺️
Finally have a Gmail! This channel is SO underrated! I have just taken up sewing clothes as a hobby and these vids inspired me! Just balancing sewing with school is kind of hard though!
I usually use that as motivation to finish school work faster so I have time to sew! Or whenever I’m overwhelmed with school, sewing helps me destress and feel calmer.
Could you maybe do a tutorial or sit down explain video where you talk about how you make patterns and how you size them to fit you perfectly. I have a really hard time making my patterns fit properly, so I would love to know how you do it! Thanks, love your videos!
Thanks for including the material! I struggle with following tutorials where the fabric isn’t listed and I don’t know what to look for at the store. I’ve wanted to make a skirt just like this for a while
I've been watching couple of videos of how to make this skirt and lemme tell you this was the MOST useful video that I've watched. I've been confused by how to match the middle tier to the top one and the bottom to the middle since no one actually showed them. I'm so happy i found this video as you actually showed how to gather and make them align. Thank you so much ♡
I have a patchwork skirt like this I got from a thrift store. I hope I’ll be able to recreate this well lol. Prolly gonna be my first project since 2018
Hare Krishna. Thank you. I tried last week, before I saw your video today, but made the mistake of not making two running stitches for gathering. Your video is precise and I will definitely try again. Thanks for the tip on the running stitches on the elastic.
It turned out great! Thank you, I am super super new and this is was very clear, I did screw up a few times but I have a new beautiful skirt. Thank you!
Lovely skirt! It would be a summer skirt for me as that material is so thin and it gets cold here in the winter. The gauze-y material the dress I am wearing today should not be worn outside but I do wear it to get weighed.
What an excellent and clear tutorial! I have this same fabric in cerulean and have been itching to work with it. This is just what I've been looking for, thank you!
I'm trying to see the basics of a tiered skirt since I made my other skirt and it was a patchwork and it's been one of my favorites:) I want to upcycle some old dresses that I don't really wear anymore and give them new life because I'm too attached to the memories I made in them to give it away😭
This is THE BEST tutorial i have EVER seen 👀 but i have one question ❤️ is the measurements in inches or cm? 🌈💅 I really cant wait to make that skirt 😁
I'm making a leather hair cuff while watching this video. Great work as always Ms. Ally. I'm already looking forward to the next video in 2 weeks. Can you make something using leather?
Thank you so much for this! I was making a tiered dress and my first attempt kinda failed since I didn't place the stitches high enough to gather and had to undo all of it... should have watched this before lol the 4 parting is really helpful! How do you easily get out the gathering stitches at the end? It takes me a while...
this is so cute!! do you have any ideas on how you could possibly add pockets to it…? :o i really wanna make one for myself, and i think pockets would be a great addition!!
I really want to start making my own clothes and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good sewing machine to make clothes that aren’t too expensive (I’m only 13)I was looking at midi machines if their any good
Hi❤️ I'm from Poland and I realy love your video's but sometimes I don't understand what are you talking about. So here's my question, can you give to your video's the Polish CC, please🙏❤️
I just had an idea: a zip up skirt with the zipper on the side, but the zipper is a double zipper that goes up the whole length of the skirt. that way it could be unzipped from the bottom to make an adjustable slit! 😃
When i sew the straight stitches across the waistband to make it lay flat it always ends up not fitting after, the waistband becomes too loose :( is it my fabric? Or should i just take off 4 inches instead of 2 since it seems to gain 2 inches after the straight stitches
Hold up. In the pattern pieces it said only 1 piece for the second tier, but in the tutorial it says 2. Can anyone confirm: 1 or 2? Or do you cut the piece in half?
just a heads up, ripping will only work this way with a woven fabric!
Ooh thanks for mentioning that!!
Thank you so much because I wanted to make this with the velvet I have. I’ve never sewn but I’m done being scared of messing up my sewing machine or fabric. I’ll probably do a test run with cheaper fabric though hehe.

This is my first sewing project in years and I didn't know it can be fun!
Mmm can u help me? The measurements on the minute 11:46 are with the fabric folded? Like 87' should be 174'?
@@melaniesosa7031 if anyone is wondering, i’m pretty sure they’re folded

Yeah it’s just sometimes I am not good at staying focused
I’ve been wanting to make a tiered skirt for a while!! This inspired me!!
This is the best tutorial I have run across. I made this skirt and it looks SO GOOD. Thank you for this!!! ❤🙏🏻
THANK YOU! I made this skirt for my gf who is 6ft tall and a thiccc gorl and it fit her perfectly by following this video! now we are ren fest ready!
Really helpful for the 4 part gathering… always struggling doing these kind of gatherings 😭 never tried doing it in 4 parts! 😍🤩
Currently wearing this skirt right now!! Mine is a little different because I only had 2yd, but i love it so much, I'm so grateful i found you

I've been struggling with a skirt that transitions between summer and winter as well, so I'll definitely have to try this one!
The skirt came out so beautiful!! Super flowy and the color is so cute😍
This is such a Sleeping Beauty look.
Ahhhhh these are so pretty!!!!! Can’t wait to make
Great tip for gathering, splitting it into sections like that! I'm never doing it another way again!
Amazing tutorial! I’m a beginner and I followed it and the skirt turned out so well! Thank you❤
I hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours did ❤❤

Absolutely fell in love with this skirt when I saw the thumbnail. I really wanna make this😭

That’s all I can ever hope for lol🥺
I love this style of skirt! I only have about 10 projects to finish first... 🤔😂

Ok, but that bodice is beautiful!!!!!

How much fabric is needed
This reminds me of Briar Rose - Sleeping Beauty in the meadow
Omg hi thx so much for all these tutorials ally I love them and they are so helpful love these type of skirts I'm always sewing along
Thank you for this post! You’re a fantastic teacher 😀

Just beautiful!

This is EXACTLY the kind of skirt I've been wanting to make but I didn't have a pattern.
Wow just wow your tutorial is so precise amazing 💯 many thanks I've learnt alot from you dear 🥰🥰🥰🤗
This tutorial was super helpful! I made a skirt inspired by Mirabel with this video. Can't wait to try other stuff on your channel.

I made a tired ruffle midi dress for summer (meaning last summer) and I made it with pockets.
beautiful, and I learned a lot watching the video, thanks so much.
Please tell me you filmed a tutorial on that top???! It’s so beautiful 😄💕
I love it! ❤ Thank you. 😊
Where did you get the fabric for the bodice? It’s so pretty!
So smooth hands.
Beautiful
this is so cute!! do you have any ideas on how you could possibly add pockets to it…? :o i really wanna make one for myself, and i think pockets would be a great addition!!
Super clear and easy tutorial. Thank you for sharing! (Also, that pink sweater in the beginning is so cute I could hardly focus!)
This reminds me of Aurora's cottage dress, could you make a tutorial on that one? I'd like to give it a go but I'm unsure about where to start
very pretty
hi! I was wondering if you measured inches or centimeters? lovely video!
Love the bodice! Is it self made?!
Your vids are amazing as always!! been here since 1k subs
It's just.....wow.
Thank you so much 🥰.
I love you channel and you too🤧😅💜🙂.
omg ive been thinking of making this yesterday!! good thing your video came in on the right time :D
INCRÍVEL ., ESPETACULAR ,. MARAVILHOSA . MAGNÍFICA..
Sorry, do you put each tier in right side out? I got so confused putting it together as your fabric is the same either side.
I really want to start making my own clothes and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good sewing machine to make clothes that aren’t too expensive (I’m only 13)I was looking at midi machines if their any good
Seems like a crime to make a skirt yourself and not add pockets :D Thanks a lot for the helpful tutorial though!

what is the model of your Brother machine, I loved it!
The model is in the description box☺️
Could you make a video on how to make children dresses?
I want to know the width and height of each tier and I wanna know how many u need to cut for 1st tier, 2nd and 3rd. Thanks!
on the third tier did you cut 6 pieces or 8?
What about the length? I am tall so should I add more inches?
I think I wanna add some pockets to this, did you have any leftover fabric of the 2.5 yards you had??
I bought 3 yards and have a 20 x 65in piece left.
Pls make more how to stitch or more beginner friendly videos
Can you make this with any fabric?
I LOVE YOU
The first piece, is it 53 inches folded or un folded?
Unfolded
It look kinda the beauty sleep dress
i want to try to make this but I only want to make it two layers, since I want it to be a bit more knee length
Can we see it on you standing still? I wanna see it at it’s resting state to see what it would looks like if I sat or stood there
what kind of fabric should i buy for this?
The panel pieces with the measurements are folded??
I'm trying to figure out the same thing
@@m8nshoes i made the skirt and the measurements are not with the fabric folded!!!
What Measurement is needed in 2nd tier and 3rd tier?

Ahh! This literally just happened to me!
@@maryholterman8013 😭 let me know if you figure out a solution! I just ended up taking off all the stiches and leaving it as is
Genial!👏
When I sew elastics it always gets stuck in my machine, any tips on how to correctly sew elastic?
Which fabric you used
How much larger then your measurements should each piece be/what are he measurements so I can compare??
First tier should be twice your waist as it's a gathered waist.
i love you girl
Should have serged the top as not to need the double fold for the elastic
How would i make this as a double circle skirt but exactly like this?
Can this skirt work as a wap skirt?
what should we do if we dont have a serger machine?
I zigzag stitch is a great alternative and I actually use it a lot when my serger is having issues haha!
Hold up. In the pattern pieces it said only 1 piece for the second tier, but in the tutorial it says 2. Can anyone confirm: 1 or 2? Or do you cut the piece in half?
It is one piece. However if u feel its difficult to manage during the cutting process, u can spilt into 2 pieces for your convenience
How much fabric we need
What is material that u used?
