Dear Eric id like to thank you for putting so much time and effort into this layout. Not only have you made the most fantastic layout known to man but you have inspired me to make my own and for that i am forever greatful. :)
I have really enjoyed your videos and layout the last four years, Eric. Thank you! Oh and I love that crossing gate. I have dreamed of something like that since I was 7 yrs old.
Great video Eric! Be careful with the1:50 scale die-cast vehicle. The flatbed that you have was my very first one, and they're very cool and habit forming. Buy as many as those as I do trains. Lol!
Those crossing gates seem to drop the arm pretty quickly, but they do look and operate quite nicely. :) Definitely looking forward to the Conrail SD40 review. Those engines are terrific. I hope you also compare them side by side to the previous CSX SD40-2's you already have Eric.
I wonder if you could add a train horn to the crossing gate, since there are two that I know of within 50 miles of me, and been at five others throughout the country and Canada that had a train horn noise. Therefore, it is prototypical since there are real crossing gates that have train horn noise in them, vs the bell noise! Oh, and the speed of the gate going up and down, is a lot like the gates in my area! Moreover, the horn noise goes away when the train gets within 200 yards of the gate, and begins sounding it's horn!
have you ever thought about incorporating a small slot car track in your model? and what do you do for a living to afford all these toys!? lol great video you are very knowledgeable always enjoy your stuff.
Nice episode...Does the crossing gate work if there is train traffic on any of the three lines your crossing?...thanks agin for showing us you wares...
Joe, that's the model I scale. As you see in his video with the display case you can see the NS First Responders Unit. That's MTH Premiere scale 3 rail. And I also have that same exact version of the First Responders by MTH. I also have lots of other engines to. Including the VGN 1069 MTH Premiere 3 rail. And others.
Recently I seen a german layout where all the traffic, cars, trucks, buses etc/ moved on the roadways. looked really cool. Are you going to do any thing similar?
are you talking about Miniatur Wunderland in hamburg? thats in HO scale and uses the faller car system. its far too expensive, they don't make models in O or of USA vehicles
Hey Eric. can I suggest a model. I found a really nice MTH western maryland M-2 4-6-6-4 challenger. It has a great amount of pulling power and it looks very nice. Might want to check it out.
Wow I used to watch you at least 6-7 years ago when I was younger the layout looks crazy man keep it up
Wow, those flats are amazing,, and the lights, soooo nice. Love the natural wood retaining wall too.. great stuff.

Do you like Lionel smoke units compare to MTH ?
They're both pretty good, although MTH smoke units generally put out more smoke...quickly filling the room with it.
Where do you live in the U.S
Nice shirt Eric ns8099
Make a Chicago room for (BNSF, Amtrak, Metra)
Put a leaky oil barrel in the river
The Cross Arms Go up too Fast. Those railroad Cross Arms would realistic if they move slower.

Toy trains are like boobs. They were originally meant for children, but are mostly used by grown men.
Also you have an amazing layout Eric.
