** Why Do We Hunt Hogs? **
Feral hogs are a non-native and invasive species in Texas. Each year hogs cause millions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of diseases and injury to livestock.
Feral hogs compete with native wildlife for resources and also prey directly on the eggs and young of ground nesting birds and will actively hunt small mammals, frogs, lizards and snakes.
Due to their intelligence, adaptability, and prolific breeding habits, traditional methods of hunting and trapping have been largely ineffective in reducing the feral hog population. The introduction of night vision and thermal optics has greatly increased landowners' ability to mitigate the destruction caused by feral hogs.
Feral swine are not considered game animals in Texas and may be hunted by any means or methods at any time of year.

I would love to see a .50 in a helicopter doing some hog hunting... even with year round free for all on hunting these pests.. very little has actually happened to their population except to keep growing faster and faster.. down the road we had a 450lbs hog total a fully loaded gravel hauler and put the man in the hospital.. 450lb stopped and totaled out a loaded 80k lb gravel truck.. these things are big and very aggressive at times.. esp the females with their up to 35 piglets at a time litters... they kill dogs and people and other wildlife and ruin land and crops and make a huge mess of everything.. I feel as a Texan we should have hog hunting festivals and round ups with 100k plus cash prizes that are non taxable and everyone is invited from around the world and country to participate... LOL

As someone who studies Invasion and Disturbance Ecology at University and hunts vermin Hog back on the farm during the holidays, I respect what you’re doing. Despite thinking the 50 cal and LMG’s are overkill (I got a good old .270 to work with🤣).
Hogs are a human problem as we introduced them, so therefore it is our responsibility to clean up after ourselves. I know this may be hard to watch for some, but for the preservation of endemic species and ecosystem function it is an imperative that invasive species such as these are reduced, if not entirely eradicated.
Reducing their numbers will only eliminate the competition they pose to endemic wildlife, and therefore allow native ecosystems to recover somewhat to their former states.

I would understand the point of an M2HB to get clean neutralising shots, but tell me whats the point on using a sten? That gun is only going to scratch the animal and make them die slowly and painfully. Why did they have to kit that car to look like as if they were in a Mad Max film and put 4 laser pointers into each weapon? They just ended up looking like some nerdy mentally ill rich men who can't find a better way to spend their time than to waste their money in a land that is probably not even theirs and couldn't care a single bit about.

@@georgesakellaropoulos8162yeah at some point the legality of the firearms become less of an issue than their cost so pre ban full auto firearms are like far too many things in this county pay to play type of luxuries. Like NFA items i don’t understand how me paying a tax to the gov somehow makes me be able to legally have an NFA item it has absolutely nothing to do with safety.
Like right now I have both a CCW and a AZ armed guard certification both require me to have background checks/fingerprint/passport photos etc but if the ATF was to find an NFA item at my house I’d get 7+ years when the only thing I’d be missing is the $200 tax stamp, it’s all a sham. There are only like 630 homicides every year in this country with all categories or models of rifles there’s pretty much no examples of law abiding citizens using suppressors/SBR’s/Full auto firearms in illegal shootings or crimes.

Damn. Thats a hell of a pig problem. Good work lads.
Few places around here ( West Aussie coral coast) that theyre pretty thick, but a Lot of guys dog hunt and shoot, & farms bait with 1080, so theyre kept down to less than plague proportions.
A mate took over 200 out of a 1500 acre block this summer. so the problem still persists.
