I staked this claim for two reasons: 1. To protect it for all interested rock hounders. I didn’t want to see it claimed by somebody that would close it off to rockhounding. 2. To learn and share the process and experience of staking a claim. I realize this is a controversial subject. But the law allows for staking a claim, whether one agrees or disagrees with the law. Given that, I decided to stake the claim and grant access as opposed to risking losing access.
Congratulations Lance. You certainly earned it after all your hard work for sure. I was mentally rooting for you the whole way. I got exhausted just watching you! lol. How exciting for you and Shadow. The shot of him on that bolder overlooking the claim was awesome. I hope you find everything you are looking for, there and in life.
Staking a claim ... a real western thing to do. The one seam you pointed out was gorgeous. Congratulation and thanks for another great story and Shadow Adventure! Busy time for you ... all my good thoughts go your way.
Cool to see you climb that rough road with the piece of wood, Lance. Excited for you on staking your claim. A great western tradition. A spiritual experience, I’m sure, out in God’s country.
Glad to hear everything is coming together for your claim. All that hard work will pay off in beautiful chalcedony for you to dig up. I'm sure once everything is finalized, you'll be a happy (rockhound) camper!Looking forward rockhounding on your claim when finalized if & when you may.
Hey Lance, Its your neighbor Ed. It's great to see you made to the top of your claim. Next time you can barrow my ATV QUAD, that's quite a climb up that mountain but what a beautiful spot and another great video. I look forward to seeing all the great finds from up there. Say hi to shadow for me.
So glad you were able to get that claimed off! Now that the knowledge was out there of such good chalcedony I'm sure it was only a matter of time before someone did the same with bad intentions. I've been wanting to do the same with another spot for a long time now if you get the chance you should do an "in depth" video of the process that would be a fun watch! Excited to see what you pull out of there. The area looks super familiar but I just can't place it, my brain is telling me somewhere between gunlock and enterprise but everything looks so similar over there I can't figure it out lol. Thanks for the vid!
Ken, I did too! In fact it motivated me to lose weight. I walk and hike a lot and am actually in good shape. But I LOVE to eat. That’s my problem. But I’m seriously going to work hard this summer and drop some weight. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Maybe Exhausted Steady Eddy?! lol. Thank you so very much! This is a new journey for me and I look forward to sharing it. Next time you visit I’ll take you rockhounding there. 😊
I didn’t know about doing a claim I want to do a claim thanks to the snowflake who was giving you grief Shadow is a great leader You need to take it easier so you don’t breathe so hard I enjoyed your video
Thank you so much! I admit carrying that 4x4 with a mailbox attached and a pick to the top was a bit much. But I only have to do that once! lol. Thanks for watching and Shadow says “hi.”
Hey Lance, it’s Camille Boone from the Pioneer. I see you stacked your claim. You’re gonna have to tell me how to do that. I didn’t know you were a rockhound. I have rocks and they are cool.
Hey Camille! Great to hear from you. Doug and I are still raving about your pies. I’ll try to swing by before leaving NM for another piece and we can talk about claims. 😎
Thanks! Yes, it is near Veyo. I “think”, however, that the volcanic activity and associated rock is from previous, earlier volcanic activity than that which produced the Veyo Volcano (cinder cone). I’m researching that subject to try to figure it out. I have never found much of anything around the Veyo Volcano itself.
Steve, please expound. I have every intention of allowing others to Rockhound. But this protects it from someone staking it and preventing all of us from having access.
What a great Video this is. What a rockhounds dream to not only discover amazing rocks, but then to be able to go through filing a claim and see how that plays out. It feels like you have been blessed with experiencing American mining history. How absolutely wonderful that is.
Please don’t include me in that “every rock hound” count. I say good for you. When you’re ready to take a group out to your claim, I would be honored to get an invitation. Bring your telescope and we can have a space lesson too!
Thank you! I look forward to sharing this location with other rock founders and the claim will protect and preserve the spot for that. Really appreciate your comment!

That is so nice of you! Thank you! Shadow is wagging his tail like a fan as I read him your comment!

You captured that perfectly Kyle. Exactly! Thanks!

Thanks and I will be happy to share the location. I just want to protect it for all of us.
Congratulations! What a fun thing to do!
Thanks @akpappy!
That is some very colorful chalcedony.
It truly is! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Congratulations and thanks for sharing your journey with little Shadow. I really enjoy.
Thanks Beth!

Ed that is such a kind offer! Thank you!
I’m so impressed! Very inspirational my friend.
Thanks Dave! Your channel on DIY camper builds is amazing. Love it!
Congratulations, the two of you, with the new property. Saludos from Spain, Rob. (finaly clear skies :) 3th night on a row)
Great to hear from you Rob! Will you be posting your images? Would love to see them.

You are very close indeed! Shoot me at email and I’m happy to share the coordinates with you. Lancesnarr@gmail.com
Hi Lance, I lost 5 pounds watching you walk up that hill! Great video😄 Looking forward to future adventures

Lance (Or should I call you Steady Eddy because you get things done)
Congratulation on your new claim.

That was very special!
Thank You!
Would a ATV been able to even climb up there??.
I can't believe how busy you are right now, I think I would have died on that hike.
I’m not sure. I think I need a Mule! Lol

Wow!! That was so cool! I want to stake a claim 😎😎
I suggest you take Shadow to dig the hole for you! Lol
We do have beautiful sunsets in this area of the world.
Truly amazing!
Impressed! Can you also carry a 5 gallon jug of water? Lol
Exciting ! I would like to dig your claim. Looking forward to it ! (Is this near Veyo?)

The irony of telling a story about going slow so you don’t have to take breaks, whilst taking a break.
Admittedly I needed breaks even while going slow. 🤪
Congratulations
But I’m sure your children are proud but saying seriously Dad get a 4 wheeler 😊.
After that hike up to the top, I agree! Or maybe a mule! Lol
Unfortunate that you have become what every rock hound hates. I will truly miss Shadow. Unsubscribing!
