Your statement about the frase "clear light and window parts" on the box, "that's lucky because windows tend to be clear" made my day, a very fine review of what looks to be a very nice kit.
I wonder why they call it the S1 when they clearly have the S2 option in there as well? The Tiger Model Pantsir appears both cheaper and better, but the S2 is no longer available except from ebay.
I initially watched about half of your review with the volume off as I was doing something else at the same time, but I thought several times during your review, what a lovely kit. I just watched it again this time with the sound on and low and behold you took the word lonely right out of my mouth, lol. This is definitely one I have to have if the price isn’t through the roof here in the states. Thanks for the review Nigel and cheers. Hope you do a video build of this one.
I have both of the Trumpeter versions of this. I’m building the S band radar version and the detail and fit have been fantastic. The control cab does have quite a bit of detail (seats, consoles, etc). I have yet to find a Meng kit that didn’t have bad fit issues. I built the Buk about 6 months ago and got rather frustrated with the fit of the launcher

I'm thinking I'm gonna get the tiger models version, I built their AMX 30 with reactive armor and it felt like a Tamiya kit, more parts, but fit was great.
Beautiful looking kit, you can't go wrong with Meng !, can't wait to see what you do with it. That Arctic camo would look absolutely stunning especially in a small winter Diorama...................bit pricey though, will have to check out a load of Chinese Sellers on eBay !
I think the question you raised about the authenticity how the arctic white wash is that you do it blind drunk (like completely plastered) close to as possible to the people who made it in factory then do the model kit think then it would look bob on hahahaha factory fresh 😂😂
You can't go wrong with an 8-legger chassis. Outstanding kit, perhaps for the review my only criticism is the wipers are just plastic and not PE.... Now my Christmas shopping plans are screwed again..🤦♂️

Nigel’s Modelling Bench Yes this is serious stuff. There are many videos out there talking about this issue and I urge everyone to check out some of them. Most contain a link below that points to the FTC comment site and on line petition sites. Take the some to go there and leave a respectful comment. I for one would hate to see your channel disappear or any channel that furthers this hobby.
Grossly overpriced in the UK, get it delivered from China for less than half that. Spoilt for choice with Pantsirs, TMs kit you can get from China for under £40, both Trumpeter kits for under £50 each, Meng kit for under £60, Zvezda and Panda pricing will be in the £40-50 bracket. Panda will have etch, depends very much with Zvezda as etch isn't really their thing but you do need it with this.
I don't think you could have said "lovely" enough! The only way Meng could have pleased you more would be to package the spues in re-sealable zip lock bags.
I'll add this, in action it's actually junk and Russia is looking for a replacement because of how many were destroyed in Syria and how many couldn't track targets it was designed to track. Love the truck, but it's a dud in real life. Lol
Add this too. This weapon system shot down the Russian reconnaissance aircraft in Syria because it couldn't differentiate between real targets and friendly. That was the nail in the coffin for the system. The truck itself will still be used, it's the system itself being replaced.
