Have the D...my favourite version of the B-24 and spent £500 on AM parts then there is the books paints etc etc..will probably buy another Lib unless someone comes out with a 1/32 Halifax with the beautiful Bristol radials and slab rudders...
Apart from what people have complained about with this kit, I think it has a lot of potential for scratch building detail, good review, keep up the good work.
Had this arrive yesterday, very impressed. Has room for improvement with the addition of seat belts etc, a crew would be nice if the likes of Masterbox could produce some US aircrew that would be perfect. With the B17, B25 and now this some generic US aircrew would be very welcome. Even the engines, whilst a bit basic will look great behind the props and inside the cowlings.
I agree Peter, it is very crisp and sharp. Those engines are a point of contention, but as I show in the video, and you mention above.. careful painting and weathering will make them pop I believe.
hi nige ive been thibking about getting one of these its great size and prety affordable .i have now got my meng tank ive seen you started it now my love to jess
Hi Gary.. It is beautiful mate. We all know that I moan about kits A LOT!!, but this one is not worthy of my degredation. If it cost £300, that would be a different story.
I plan on getting one of these once there's some aftermarket stuff available for it. The biggest disappointment in the kit thus far is the split turret where the glass comes together. That join seam will be impossible to hide. Also, I read somewhere where someone pointed out that the wing cross section at the wing root is too narrow. The wing is not thick enough at the wing root. When doing visual comparisons of the finished model to photos and drawings of the B-24, this discrepancy is noticeable. Still it won't keep me from getting one of these kits. I'm more bummed out about the split turret assembly. I doubt any aftermarket will remedy that for this kit, but maybe someone will surprise us. Still waiting on someone to provide in-flight crew figures for these 1/32 scale bombers. May be waiting a long time for that.
Hi. There are a couple of people currently working on the turrets, both in Resin and Vac form. The wing root issue is being worked on also, with the possibility of some wing inserts that will "stretch" the wing into the correct shape. Rest assured thee will be some cockpit updates available soon.
Ahoy Nigel Great video and inbox review I got the same kit for Christmas you will find this kit top shelf realistic as can be I will paint mine matt aluminum with panels. Yopu will have fun with this one better find a isolated place to display this its Big wingspan a meter long big enough. Merry Christmas buddy and Happy New Year Frankie day
It would be so nice for someone to do a vid in using metallic metals b-17 section metal upgrade kits, how pieces are cut off and bent glued on painted there are several sections but would love to see how it’s done
Hi, I believe the undercarriage parts you looked at are only the inner piece, I’m guessing they’re abs, mines on order and should be here in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait. Nice review btw. 👍
Great sprue review Nigel, I enjoyed it. Great info, I always enjoy your insight when it comes to model kits. Thanks Nigel it all very informative.

Hi Neil,
Those legs are indeed the inner parts. Metal versions are already available.
This is one kit I’ve always overlooked Nigel finally ordered it today .Did you end up doing the build on this ?
No Charlie. I did a video about getting the weight into the nose and correcting the props.
@@NigelsModellingBench I’ll check them out Nigel and make notes so I’m aware when I get to build this kit
Thanks again
The wing root is more B-26 Marauder than B-24, unfortunately...
Looks nice but no were to put it good review nigel
Thanks Chris. It is a lovely kit. I think it could be built with detachable wings??
I get mine tomorrow thurs 06 / 06
my only concern is just how much weight do you need to bring on its wheels
The instructions state 300 grams.
thats abit to big for mybench :p
