  • In August of 2019, the New York Times published a series of articles collectively known as the 1619 Project, which "aims to reframe the country's history..." The Project has served as a catalyst to re-write America’s past and indoctrinate public-school educated children with a false narrative that promotes Critical Race Theory. According to the Pulitzer Center, in 2020 already some 4500 schools were teaching curriculums based on the Project and in all 50 states. This video describes what this false narrative teaches to our children, and why tax paying parents of the public schools should resist it.

This video is literally doing what it's condemning. The US was not the first nation to abolish slavery France and Haiti were.

wait...this sounds like a critique about inaccuracies with a particular book...the revisionist history movement is centered around well...revisionism...e.g. looking at more primary sources and obtainable data...(read the social interpretation of the french revolution, second edition, by Alfred Cobban as an example of an author with a revisionist framework)
The Revisionist movement IS a better and new form to try to better understand the past...1) no one was in the past, therefore we are all inferring based on what data we have left e.g. primary sources. Rather than have 1 unilateral approach to the past...2) revisionism allows for multiple historians to validly argue their point and refine history by having inaccuracies dispelled with new and reasonable arguments of what information about the past we have...
I agree with the 1619 project STRICTLY to the extent that "immigrant british settlers" who then became plantation owners in the south found profit through slavery and force...this profit-through-slavery model can be said about colonial spain, portugal, and britain...there is no question about it...we must teach slavery, we must teach it was evil....WHILE also keeping up WITH THE FACTS and what is CORNERSTONE objectively proved theories/rules...
I disagree with the 1619 project in its methodology of research in having no references...sounds more like the book is meant to be symbolic-literature about america and subject to free speech for publication...I doubt state k-12 standards will bend to pick up such literature like this...

Schools teach that The United States (as a country) - Was founded in 1776 because in that year, the founders of this independent state; brought about the nessasary war needed to kick out the British Military. The fact that the first slaves arrived in 1619 is a purely academical side note of the history of the North American continent, not the United States because this country simply did not exist at the time. Do I really have to explain this? A better (at least slightly more appropriate Form of Historical revisionism) - Would be to say that this country was founded in the 16th century with Jamestown for instance. At least that interpretation encompasses a broad view of the History regarding the Geographical position of the US. Or better yet: with the "logic" demonstrated, you could construe the US to be more than 100,000 years old as humans resided in North America at that time.

The British weren't "kicked out" they went to Canada!!
How could they supply & support an army from 3,000 miles away while up against militias, french & spanish etc. It wasn't a viable proposition so they left! That's why Canada are part of the commonwealth.

@@hughzapretti-boyden9187 Whats funny is that I just realized something, Lol... If you replaced references to the British and America, with those of America and Vietnam, your comment would become that of the Historical Revisionism rooted arguments for why the US, "did not loose in Vietnam..."

@@Limosetheyou obviously don't like dealing with facts & accept american revisionist history. The British could not supply nor send additional troops needed from over 3,000 miles away quickly enough & realised it was an untenable situation so went north into Canada which became part of the commonwealth. And yes the vietnamese bitch slapped the americans out of Vietnam but 99.9% of americans will say it was a tactical victory because of being indoctrinated into an education system which teaches historical lies. Apparently Custer was a hero....😂

whos doing that - just your ignorance
      know your history -
for a start 1) the first slaves were white both in ireland and usa (they were called bonded slaves)
2nd the first legal slave OWNER (ie thru court) was black
i applaud your willingness to learn your history
but dont learn from the right. they have a bias . find better sources . the winners in history write it and they are the ruling class ie capitalists - so learn from someone neutral or anticapitalist like the communists (marxists and anarchists) - at least learn it to have 2 "truths" to compare intelligently
youll find it a hard truth to consume given your capitalist brainwashing youve endured in usa
