    Tonight I listened to part of the cma awards, a show that use to be the highlight of my year. Tonight it nearly broke my ears They call it country music. It's as far away from country sa hard rock. They can't even carry a tune and they sure don't know what harmony is. LORDY!!!

    I watch you tube like a hawk for old or new downloads of the glasers. My heart too pumps peanut butter for all of them but my favorite is Jim. I have lived a fairly long time and never have heard anyone sing with such lovely Harmony. The Tenor has always sent goose bumps up and down my spine anyhow. And Jim is the very best ever..I still follow you Jim, hope to see you in person some day soon.

    Surely can't find harmony like this coming out of Nashville anymore and most certainly not the talent in this song by Tompall and his brothers. Today's carbon-copy, tight jeans wearing, shave and haircut needing phonies that are being produced by New York owned record companies have nothing new to offer Country Music but Rap lyrics.
    Thank you of posting this beautiful song by such a talented group.

      Hello Linda, Do you recall a video of the Brothers singing "Rings" live & it was from this same concert? It was removed about 3 years ago. It was just wonderful & I was so disappointed when it was removed. There is one more video on here with Tompall singing Put another log on the fire that was also from this concert. I surely wish it would be uploaded again. Take care of your self...Bob!!

    • @lindadonahue9279
      @lindadonahue9279 9 лет назад +2

      Don't recall that particular "Rings" video, Bobbi, but I don't believe I was on RUclips 3 years ago. Would love to see it! Did you know there is a new CD available of the Glaser Brothers? It contains all the songs from their first two albums, plus many more. None of them have ever been available on CD before. It's called "Same Old Memories", and has about 27 tracks on it. Very reasonable at about $16.00 on Amazon. Treat yourself! It is wonderful! You take care as well, Bobbi. Winter can't last forever, my friend!

      linda donahue Hi Linda, Hope you are well. I don't know how the weather is there in Ohio on this first day of spring but here in the mountains of NC it still feels like winter!! & by the way I have to watch this one by the Glasers everyday!!

      Bobbie Hobson, good to hear from you. It will actually feel like Spring here for at least a couple of days. SOOOO tired of Winter! This is one of their best for sure. I listen to it a lot, if not every day at least every other day! Take care and come on over to Facebook if you ever get an account and join the Tompall group (Tompall Glaser:Wanted The Outlaw). Lots of fans there! Linda

    So many favorites...
    Delta Lost; All That Keeps Ya' Goin'; Walk Unashamed; Jim's Lights of Alberquerque; Tompall's Sold American and Cowboys and Daddies; The Great El Tigre; Maria Consuela; the backups for Marty in their early days on The Story of My Life and The Hanging Tree (if you haven't RUclipsd those two clips - Marty Robbins at the TownHall Party...go get them!)
    I think I have 5, Linda - vinyl that Dad left me. But more than the records...I have the legacy that was the Glaser Brothers that I carry in my heart, forever emblazoned......

      linda donahue Hi Linda. Tompall & his brothers sure sing this song so beautifully. I listen to this one every day. I didn't realize though he wrote this song until I read his biography. There just will never be another voice like Tompall Glaser. Never!

      @lindadonahue9279 10 лет назад +3

      You said it better than anyone, Bobbi. There will NEVER be another talent like Tompall. I have always been in awe of him as a singer, but I didn't realize just how much of an outstanding songwriter he was until I read the biography. Favorites of mine, all of them! He was really something and I will always miss him, but can "have" him every day through his wonderful music. Take care!!

    So amazing to watch - from all we know, it's pretty obvious they didn't get along - but when all three gather around one microphone to create that incredible harmony, it's the sweetest sound in the world.

    • @lindadonahue9279
      @lindadonahue9279 10 лет назад +8

      The Brothers' breakup is the one subject Tompall would not talk about in his biography. He said it was still too painful. Every Tompall fan, or country music fan for that matter, should read "The Great Tompall: Forgotten Country Music Outlaw" written by Kevin Glaser, one of Tompall's nephews. It was published last year shortly after Tompall's death. It is a FANTASTIC book. A great journey through the life of one of the greatest talents of our time. A very private man as well. He and his brothers were all so very talented and certainly made their mark in country music history. So many other artists owe them a great deal. It's time for Nashville to do the right thing and induct them into the Hall of Fame. They have more than earned it.! If you haven't already, please treat yourself to this book.

    What a great posting, Japstrangler - thank you! I think that the previous posting of this was removed for some reason? Was this from one of the Wembley shows?
    Interesting comments re Val Doonican show. I suspect the only way to get access to this would be to pay for a 'research' copy with the timer on it - (that is, if the tapes haven't been wiped). I don't know if you have to be in the business to be able to request a research copy.
    My uncle was a big fan - and introduced me to them. He told me the first time he saw them was on a UK 'George Hamilton IV' show - maybe in the late 60s - though I've never seen this surface either.
    Did you see the biography on Tompall, which was written by his nephew and published last year, after his death? 'The Great Tompall'??

I was walking across the room, heard their beautiful harmony, turned and just watched as they performed. I couldn't get enough. I lived in Albuquerque, NM at the time and saw the beautiful golden morning Sun on the sandia mountains and listened to them singing about that in their song. "It'll be Her" it was like heaven. Does anyone know much about chuck? I know he had a stroke. Is that why he almost always looks so sad. I know it must really hurt that he can no longer play the guitar. Watch the clips before his stroke. He was all smiles and a ball of fire with that guitar and those beautiful harmonies He is too very handsome. I hate so bad that he had to give up his guitar, however, at least he can still sing with the group. You are appreciated so much, Chuck. All the best to you, my friend. I don't even have a turn table but I am looking for one. Can't wait to play them. There are a couple of new additions by the Glasers on you tube. I was the first to comment on some of them. I know that is only because, you Linda, June and Carol haven't found them yet. Keep looking girls, you are getting behind. Winner and others are digging long and hard to find these nuggets of gold. I think I have found all the new postings, Helen, but if I miss any let me know. I think Chuck suffers from Parkinson's disease as well as other health issues. Jim continues to perform and sounds as great as ever. He was recently on the "Marty Stuart" show and blew everyone away! I don't think the three of them ever hated each other. I read that Tompall once said that they were all just stubborn and refused to compromise. Tompall said in his biography that the subject was too painful to talk about. I am always looking for more LP's from the Glasers. I'm having what I have put on CD's and will get them in about 2 weeks. Can't wait! Linda

I hate Chuck is so sick. Yes, I saw one of the songs that he sang on Marty's show. I saw it on you tube. My sister saw it live on tv. She was very excited about it. She said he sang 3 songs. About your albums, Helen, call computer repair shops where you live. A lot of them do the transfer of LP's to CD. That's what I did. They are only charging me $10 per LP and that is because I want them all separate. It is cheaper if you want multiple albums on one CD. Good luck and let me know if you need anything further from me. Always glad to help a sister Glaser fan. Tompall stole my heart, but I love them all dearly.

    At 1/12 the steel player makes a mistake, he’s going to a IV chord instead of staying in the I chord…….whoops…..😳

    Show business has a way of tearing families a part. This is one of those times. It is said that they now hate each other. I don't believe that. The old saying is "the closest thing to love is hate" How can they not still love each other after having obviously done so all their lives?

    JapStrangler, would you be interested in selling some or all of your glaser albums? Please answer back on this clip, and maybe we could get together thru mail or something. Thanks

      Helen, I recently bought some on ebay and Amazon.. The price was fair and the albums are in great shape. I am with TheJapstrangler. I wouldn't part with any of mine either. I now proudly own 9 altogether. Good luck, my friend!

      None better than the Glaser Brothers. I have a special place in my heart for Tompall. Have for a long time. No one ever sang a country lyric like Tompall. Jim's voice is truly a gift. He still sounds wonderful today. The three of them together was pure music magic. I miss them but listen to them every day!

    These guys had the most beautiful harmony I’ve ever heard! But, in my humble opinion, Jim had the best voice of the three. I can’t get enough of him, with his brothers or solo his voice was just magical ❣️
