Hill climbs on an ATV seems like playing Russian roulette. It’s much better doing it on a dirt bike because you can just lay the damn thing over rather than rolling the thing backwards sideways and every other which way.
This is a year late for a response. But not necessarily. If he finishes his lap, and does a tire change he is good to go. But hard telling how far away from the check point he is. If this is mile 3 of 10. Hard telling. Not sure if this series (GNCC) has dnf if you get pulled back. You may just lose the current lap.
I dont know why people think 4wheelers are so much better than a 3wheeler ? I know 4 a fact i could totaly smoke all them dudes on my Yamaha Tri-Z. That extra front wheel sticking out there only caused ya more problems when ya hit ruts or bumps.

Naaah, not my cup of tea,for something going so slow uphill they sure are good at snapping limbs and necks .youre arm / leg gets caught in one of them contraptions rolling downhill-gunna fuck you up and bike for not all that much fun. 2 wheelers uphill much more fun and 100% safer..

Why don't these guys have four wheel drive? All i see is rear wheels spinning.
There were a couple in there, but all they were doing was free wheeling in the air. The front wheels were barely making contact with the ground.
