If CIWS, Sea Sparrow or RAM are firing on a carrier and it's not an exercise, many, many things have gone wrong. We always roll with a strike group composed of several destroyers and a cruiser to protect our ship. Also it sounds cool but actual GQ alarm is always fuckin' scary

This carrier is big enough to carry some type of high power laser canon system which would be a lot faster than these CIWS. 😳 Let's have a real deadly light show using laser canons.👍

They do not see the bullets strictly up and can not hit the flooring, and the planes are sent to them specifically at a distance of a direct hit, ugh, assholes!

You just know in reality those things shoot for like a couple minutes max and that’s prolly all she wrote. I’m sure we’ve never planned for and expected those cwiz’es to shoot that much.

And considering how long these shoot for, I am willing to bet they don’t hold that much ammo and have to be reloaded after probably 60 seconds of continuous fire. And I’m sure reloading them isn’t like popping out a magazine and putting in another. It has to take a while to load that back in there. I’ve just never seen them shoot for very long at all... and I’m willing to guess they don’t hold enough ammo for more then 3-4 bursts.
@@helpdeskjnp ok so the CWIS carries around 1,500 rounds which is pretty good since they fire it in controlled bursts. It's basically belt fed so reloading takes time, but not as long as you'd think.
Here's just a little miscellany for you. The Ranger close-in weapon system use under 6 miles. The range of sea Sparrow / basic Point missile defense system is under 15 miles. The range of rolling airframe missile is about 18 MI. Range of a nun refueled Hornet about 500 miles. And her missiles add another 30 for each. Range of the e-2d Hawkeye that will provide radar about 900 miles depending on altitude and we're talkin from the surface of the ocean to satellite orbits! So before basic Point missile defense system flash sea Sparrow and Goshen weapon system would even have be able to engage you would have to cover 500 miles that I can see you from the surface of the ocean to space and if you're using anything that has more metal in it than an average D size flashlight battery we can hit you! And that's without any of the escorting ships are the ages system that puts everybody's missiles and guns in control of it

I am retired military, very impressive but not realistic. A real attack would be skimming in the water and from both sides. Not at an ideal situations for the weapon systems
one thing that strikes me about this is that the ten or so aircraft sit idly by. No effort to launch them and get them out of harms way. All it takes is one hit and those craft are useless to the war effort.

It also has an anti missile missile, you know a missile that shoots other missle. they are small but fast, great for intercepting missiles.
