This is truly amazing. As a Navy vet who served in a fighter squadron on the USS Ranger in the late 60’s, we had nothing on that carrier like they have today. When you have an investment of billions of dollars, for just one carrier, and that does not include all the aircraft, you must protect it. Great to see the innovation and commitment of the Navy.

I agree with Mr. Powell. The navy would not spend the money on these massive war machines if they were not able to successfully able to defend them and the naval personnel that man's them. God Bless the United States and our Armed Forces.
This is actually a good way to waste the enemies C-RAM bullets so that the jet fighters have a better chance at attacking
C-RAMS (Counter rocket, artillery, and mortar) aren't used to take down jets, they would use SM type missiles.

I literally thought this was real for a minute until i noticed that shading was off for clouds showing "depth" and the smoke from destroyed aircraft.....i sure hope you are either independently building PC wartime simulation games or are working with members of game manufacturers in the likes of DCS and Vtol, outstanding job!!!
Imagine if you took out all existing coms to a major fleet/vessels & then convinced the country/commanders with high-tech grafix that they experienced catastrophic loss of assets in battle with great video of their best assets destroyed & helpless long enough to promt a successful surrender before they realize they had not realized they hadn't lost most their fleet & were watching a damn good movie... what's that old saying warriors win battles, logistics win wars ! What would a commander do that believes he has nothing left to command ?

one simple Poseidon takes care of the whole fleet. These high speed guns are toys for video games.
China has adopted the doctrine of saturation attack: not one cruise missile or suicide drone at a time, but 80 or 200 -- because they are cheap while the target value is high.
And what you think US battle groups will not be saturating the battle space?
Those C-Ram systems saturate volume space they are not a direct hit fire line.

I wonder how many incoming missiles would it take to overwhelm these phalanx systems. The simulation basically showed concentrated fire on one missle at a time.
They were literally firing at multiple missiles and aircraft at the same time. What a video where are you watching?

If laser defense system can work，it will crush incoming attacks almost 100%。
yeah, if you could have them up 24/7 with with enough power and enough cooling, it'll be amazing. With enough power you could take down almost anything. Never need any kinetic or chemical weapons (as in explosive), except for very far off targets like long range attack planes, as lasers wont be effective on very long range due to crap like dust in the air bringing down the power.
Railguns would also be great, but not guided at long range, though, I've always wondered if, say, you launch a projectile via a railgun and then the last few kilometers, have a small rocket or electrically moved fins to guide it for fine movement.

El piloto de un avión de combate dispara un misil desde unos 10 km y no tiene necesidad de acercar a la defensa aérea.
Si y te recuerdo también q este barco lleva a bordo un escuadrón FA18 y uno F35 q avioncito se podrá pegar a 10 km de este portaaviones jjjjjjjjjjjjj

No sir that is a simulation on a game
Hope that works in missile saturation attacks, which the fleet is likely to face in a war in the Pacific ocean.
Battleships in a war will not be on their own they will be part of battle groups and they will have aircraft in the air as well.
And the volume that they will unleash will be far greater than the video game shows. Those C-Rams are not a single line of fire they fill up the volume of space with explosive rounds. Those tracers you are see are one in every ten rounds.
@@bighands69 Yes I know tracers are one in ten rounds. But even with a 4500 per minute rate of fire for the C-RAMs?; will it be enough, to prevent saturation attacks from overwhelming the point defenses of the CIWS?

Si podemos decirle señor al ese psicópata no le importa nadie, sino el poder y nadie se atreve a eliminarlo, sería lo mas justo ya que no ha tenido compasión con civiles, mujeres, niños etc.
Que pasa si los pilotos atacan volando a baja altura, digamos volando por debajo de la línea de cubierta?
A media/larga distancia no importa , el problema sería si el avión estuviera muy cerca ,en cuyo caso ni al avión le quedarían chances de maniobras , se estrellaría , o al menos eso pienso yo

Question for anyone familiar with the iron dome defense system, could you theoretically link say( 4 )carriers (destroyers , even Ohio class ) & replicate a iron dome style defense between them ? It seems to me if possible you could severely cut in a lot of potential threats, Just wondering ?
I can say this, every aircraft carrier has great defenses around it and under it. So, all you need not worry about any carrier in dangerous waters.
Putting 4 carriers in the same location would be a stupid idea.
phalanx are rather short range. the probability of a hitting what they are shooting at drasticly decreeses the further away it is.

This is a best case scenario for the enemy with traditional means. In close, stationary, no aircraft or escort fleet. You could I guess overwhelm it. But it would still take a lot of kit to kill it.
I hope the c ram can run day and night 24/7 continuously.
US battle groups are capable of remaining in battle for long periods of time. Think of how large the ships are now think of how much ammunition they can carry.

The defensive firepower on an aircraft carrier is awesome but how long can this coverage be sustained in the event of a concentrated multi-pronged attack? And what are the defenses against underwater threats..mines, torpedoes etc?
US battleships are part of groups. So that means the US right now can form about 11 such battle groups with each group able to put over 100 aircraft in the air.
Think of how large those ships are now think of how much ammunition they can carry and unleash.
Each Carrier group will have its own battle squadron that on its own would be impossible to take down never mind a carrier being present.
In WW3 the US will have about 1000 carriers active.

They live in a very dreamy world. They're going to attack from all those targets, and that aircraft carrier is going to survive😄
US Aircraft carriers are extremely tough and would require massive missiles to actually hit them. In a real battle it would take constant hits from artillery that is by the way far more effective than a missile to take down those carriers.
Here is the thing that most people do not realize is that carriers in a war would be part of a group and if a major world war was to break out the US would have a thousand of them active.

Only in simulations you would have the option on/off (Or a cheat code) unlimited Ammo :) In reality the enemy (Russia) have installed in their Su's a Jamming device which was put into practice against an American warship. One split second: "No power".
