I'm so looking forward to getting this game in April (PS4). I'm a 75 year old grandma that loves open world games but this looks so complicated! I'll need a walkthrough!
Please don’t watch walkthroughs. Gaming today lost its magic because we go in a new game already knowing a lot of stuff. Games are nice when you discover everything yourself. At most, just watch a spoiler free tips and tricks video after a few hours of gameplay. But even then, you rob yourself of the discovery. For example, the eye chests. I opened one while doing the first invisibility mission but I didnt realize why it worked. Then I spent minutes trying to open one in a bathroom. I came to this video, found out what you need for opening it and now I feel both dumb and robbed of the discovery. It ruined that part of the puzzle unlocking.
just put it on story mode or easy and enjoy. I'm not a good gamer so I always set it on an easier mode. It's so much fun! I hope you're able to get it and play! Enjoy!!
Tip: you only need to pick up an item to unlock its appearance. Do not worry about selling gear that looks good. Just wear your best stuff and transmog it to look what suits you
So much yes to this!! My gf saw my profile and was like 😨 how you have so much money??? She also missed picking up new gear from chests because she didn't know about selling/destroying low level gear
@@OccupiedMuffins or charge in-game currency at shops to change looks - you can literally change your look in the middle of a flying quest on your broom with no issue. Fyi quidditch capes look best when flying 😁

Revelio while on the broom sees much much farther than when you're off the broom. It helps on a lot of the Merlin trials where parts of the trial are further away. Also nice to see where everything is in a small town when searching for specific items/locked doors etc.
Personally, while I use the floo points, I also like to use my broom to go from place to place (haven't unlocked any mount yet). It's really immersive, and you can go quite fast, plus it helps you explore a lot
Facts im doin the same. About to get the second broom upgrade and is pretty quick. About to get a mount to but it’s definitely good for finding random stuff
I personally prefer the broom over the mounts anyway. And I absolutely agree, although I use the floo system, it's so good to just roam around freely on your broom and explore the entire world
I prefer the broom over the mount as well. It’s just faster to get out, and it seems like they go just as fast. I could be wrong, but for me it’s easier to use.
A couple things I was made aware of (or eventually figured out) If you visually wear any robe that has a hood, you can right click on the gear slot to pull that hood up and wear it. Also many of the collectables in Hogwarts are behind closed doors so don't tire yourself out trying to find one/two more collectables if you can't unlock doors yet. The auto generating tables, while expensive are a huge time saver, especially the mini cauldrons. On that note, you can only carry 25 healing potions and, best I can tell, you can't sell them, so use them almost wastefully. And closely read the notification of why you can't collect loot from a chest, I threw away some gear before noticing I wasn't full on gear, but on potions. And whenever you learn the disillusionment spell, you also instantly gain access to Petrificus Totalus, your stealth attack. Remember though, while the spell is powerful it's not a guaranteed oneshot, high level enemies or big enemies often live the attempt so if you intend to stealth a camp, stay ready for a fight anyways. I already learned the tips of this video the painful way, but I hope it helps someone else
I'd recommend more experienced players to play the game on hard as it forces you to take advantage of an enemy's weakness, like flipping a trolls weapon back at him after he slams it down It also encourages you to use more potions, which makes making them feel a lot more important Overall, my experience has been a lot more immersive since switching to hard

A helpful tip would be to make sure to use your items/potions - they can change the course of a fight entirely when using a well timed Mandrake or Maxima. Another I would suggest is to be able to flip through your "spell pages" during combat to fit different needs - building rows of spells that work well together such as Acio and Infrindo or Levioso and Descendo paid together on the same bar.
Tip: For the puzzles with the animals around the door, there’s a chest somewhere (can’t remember where) that has the number code for each animal. Basically from left around to right it’s 0-9
Found two of those "cheat sheats". One in top floor of the library and one in the clock tower where the dueling club is. From the floo point, enter the door on your left, you will need level 1 alohamora and follow the stairs up until you find the gears of the clock.
They're in order on the border of the door, numbered 0-9. I couldn't find any code or sheet in the game that specified it, but I realized it pretty quickly when one of the artimancy door had both triangles with two numbers provided. Figuring it out from there was only a small hop
Sadly couldn't get the physical edition so ended up getting the digital edition, I was bummed until I realized I could play at midnight! Already have it ready to go! I cannot wait to start playing and exploring

The best thing and dont know if its been mentioned is that accio works on any page, you can use accio on the pages unlocked on the fire cauldrons and etc to cut the animation or if you sent a confringo at a cauldron from afar you can accio the page too, it doesn't have to be flying.
There's also one on the cliff path after appearing in the cave, when you reach a point where there's seagulls on the left, you then climb a small cliff, turn left here and head around to find this hidden stash of a few galleons.
@@LegacyGamingUS hey, I dont see these videos in your upload que (the unlock house chest) & the (Alohamora 2 quest)..can u let me know where to find them? Thanks
When you're flying and use Revelio, not only do you see glowing for interaction, but your surroundings and mini map get all these icons that show you what is arround you: Merlin's trials, beasts, floo powder spots, treasure and so on. It's temporary but it's an amazing option
Don't waste time with single pots. Save up for a combination of three medium and two large. Those two spellcrafts will have you sorted for the entire game. You should never need to grow more than one of any plant. Yes, that includes the Mallowsweet. Check back often and you'll always have more than enough.
The chests are so funny once you open them and a bit saddening as well, they act like sad puppies by the sound they make once you open them. Also thanks a lot for the tips in all your videos
I have such a feeling that once mods or more patches come into play storage chests will become a thing. I see many people wanting to have storage in the Room of requirement.
Thanks for the tips! All of them are helpful but my fave tip is about the inventory trap. I love collecting stuff so it would be a bummer to lose some stuff and get nothing out of them.
Fun fact: sometimes centaurs will raid the bandit camps in the Forbidden Forest, and if you tag along you can scoop up the rewards without having to beat the camp by yourself.
They seem to only come out to play after completing some of poppy sweatings side missions after that introduction with the centaurs they are seen everywhere
Revelio looks like a similar mechanic to the Assassin creed Eagle sense/Odins eye. But this looks much much more immersive. I can’t wait to play this tomorrow, I live in the UK and playing in PC so got to wait a little while longer. Great video 👍
Also instead of looking through a map to find a certain quest marker you can hover the quest in the quest menu and it will bring you to the exact location on the map
just takes useless time away from your life if you want to you can just go to a teleportation location and then only then use the teleport if you really want to
@Elias Mi I understand that, it just takes away from the immersion a bit for me since if you were to actually use floo powder you would need to be near the fire
Also for most quests and even some of the tasks the professors give you there is a option to show on map the destination for said quest and it will even open the correct wing for the floo network
Getting your own shop is a nice feature too -- plus the labarynth you have to complete is really fun and creepy. You end up being able to sell loot at about 10-20% more galleons per item. It does cost 1500 galleons to get the shop but i'm sure you'll make that back. Plus the mission is worth playing
@@nicoset5380 yes. You complete a mission in the shop which takes about 30 minutes. Loads of fun then the shop is yours, you name it. Then you can sell gear to it for higher prices
For those completionists, the Merlin trials didn’t all show up on map when zooming out. I had to revelio on my broom for each zone to see which ones I missed. I went to each location and marked on the map one by one and apparently the map doesn’t show you all of them you have to discover them on broom. Unless that was a bug. Idk
Yeah one of my few gripes on the game is the map, looks cool but the mechanics are wonky and can be frustrating until you learn a few tricks to make it passable wish there was a flat option or something because getting a floo point and figuring out if it is close to where you want to go can be irksome.
Bit of a good Tip i found when trying to tame literally any Beast in the wild. use Disillusionment to sneak up right next or at least near the Beast then use Arresto Momentum to slow them to a crawl then use the Nab-sack makes Trapping Beasts incredibly easy and rarely does 1 get away from you.
If you have shitty speakers, turn on the audio visualizations option. Every time you revelio with a page nearby, a bell 🔔 will tell you what direction the sound is coming from. Also you don't need the arithmancy cheat sheet, the symbols around the doors are already in order 0-9 clockwise.
As a learner to Playstation, I only did fighting games on Xbox . This game is great to learn with plus with multiple slots u can slowly level up and challenge yourself.
I just read the "Daedalian Keys Unlock Something Amazing" and wasted like nearly an hour getting the last few I was missing only to find out "something amazing" was a shitty cosmetic. Thanks guy.
I recently discovered this channel and videos are really good. I love learning whats new and gameplay/review of games i am interested and this is perfect for it. Thanks for the videos and keeping us posted on whats new.
Does no one else use Audio Visualizer? It helps Revelio show the direction of hidden stuff. Also turning on High Contrast helps you see everything important. It turns everything black amd white except important objects makes it super easy to find stuff
My only complaint about this game is the view based targeting. It works well until you do the dark pack trials. Which are awful as you are fighting 10 people at a time. They need to decouple the left stick cycing through enemies and just have it be a hard lock that you have to undo and redo. Right now it is unusable at least on controller. Also get rid of L2 to aim and make it a second spell page.
@@CuttinChris you're good my guy, I don't hear so well, so I've always had trouble when devs put in stuff you have to find by sound alone. I'm honestly floored that they thought of people like me
@@CuttinChris I bet, I'll tell you a piece of advice for when you do play. The guidebook in game tells you the special weaknesses of the enemies you face. And that's all I'm willing to say
going on the broom and going low enough you can pick up stuff without dismounting and also can use the revelio charm while mounted i found some good things while doing later in the game
1. You can unlock your own shop and sell clothing for 10% extra. 2. You can take off and land from your broom on the lake. 3. Ignore side quests that doesn't teach you a new spell because most game content is locked until you learn a new spell. 4. When you unlock the room of requirements you can place furniture that automatically makes items like the hopping pot that give you potions at no extra cost (can be immediately purchased in hogsmead after leaving hogwarts)
Here’s a Tip of the Day it is…. Don’t venture right away cuz if you do that , then you’ll be missing out on the many chests that contains Gallions. Cuz I really do suggest that you should get them , before moving any more forward. But just don’t move on forward , not until after you have those chests already opened. Cuz it would be more wiser to just get those chests first , then be on your way to wherever you’re going. Just don’t forget about collecting up on the Gallions along being on the path.
I thought I read somewhere that there are 3 of the house tokens that you cannot acquire until much later in the game. I think you have to go to some areas, like the faculty and medical wing which are locked early on.
That's the perfect protego that breaks the shields because it reflects the enemy attack back at them. Stupify of a basic counter on lower difficulties will insta break shields. That's why we pointed it out.
They have to add quidditch as DLC. My cousin's and I played Harry Potters Quidditch for so long on the PlayStation 1. It's a lot of fun.. Was disappointed to find they hadn't added quidditch into this game. Especially when they added the broom flying. This needs to be added as DLC ASAP. This games done big number, so let's hope they deliver it.
10 hours in I'm loving the game except for the fact that you have to start up the potions manually instead of just creating a batch and come back later.
I've come across a great combat tip that I've tried and tested WARNING: YOU NEED TO HAVE UPGRADED THE CURSED ENEMIES SHARE DMG ABILITY AND THE CRUCIO UPGRADE THAT EXTENDS CURSES TO OTHER OPPONENTS!!! But with these skills you can also perform a multiple enemy one shot kill with the transfiguration spell by turning the initial enemy into an exploding barrel and blowing it up all enemies sharing the curse will also die instantly has a much faster cool down than the killing curse and works on larger enemies like trolls and big spiders as long as theyre linked just transfigure one of the smaller guys and they'll die instantly as well
Do you want to wear stuff for maximum stats but not look like a dork at the same time? You can modify the appearance of everything you wear, even to invisible. Open your menu, click in "Gear" and hover over each item. In the description, it tells you what to press to change it's appearance. Glasses and hats even have the invisible option so you still look like yourself but are able to benefit from their qualities.
I will say if you’ve done all your collection chests on your map the only way to get the last bit of conjugations and stuff is but lies like the quest you follow the butterflies to a hidden chest but I don’t hear anyone talking about them
This game is good it also feels kind of surreal to play just because I have always wanted a game set in to the harry potter universe but not based around harry potter. I never really likes harry potter but I always found the whole hogwarts world really cool so finally being able to explore the world and use the spells is just so cool to me. Its also one of the games that I literally know nothing going into so everything is cool and a surprise.
Another Trick: There is no need to purchase Venomous Tentatula seeds as the Greenhouses have provided enough to make your inventory full of them when needed in combat.
3:58 using toggle? how? I mosty lock on and when I counter I switch targets but u seem to mean switch targets while not being locked on? Can anyone explain lock on vs no lock on combat? cuz I see no reason to not be locked on.

WAY more in the pipeline, just trying to keep you all on your toes
The chests are so funny once you open them and a bit saddening as well, they act like sad puppies by the sound they make once you open them. Also thanks a lot for the tips in all your videos
I love that feature too, but it seems like they die :/
It makes me so uncomfortable. Like they were just violated but also liked it.
Thanks for the heads up on the limited carrying capacity. I am a serial looter, see myself going to sell stuff quire often 😅
Great tips. Thanks
LMAO same. One of the first things I try to upgrade is my bag space. 🤣
I’m a chronic loot rat, carrying capacity usually only inconveniences me
I have such a feeling that once mods or more patches come into play storage chests will become a thing. I see many people wanting to have storage in the Room of requirement.
@@madhatterally1046 Hope so,as I feel the urge to loot everything and hate having such a limited capacity! We need a stash!
Thanks for the tips! All of them are helpful but my fave tip is about the inventory trap. I love collecting stuff so it would be a bummer to lose some stuff and get nothing out of them.
Magical Beasts: There are some beasts that have stars (like pokemon shiny's) and they yield more resources than normal beasts
Revelio also makes your controller vibrate, letting you know which direction to look in. Super helpful.
If you walk to a bunch of floo points early on and fight the enemies you can on the way, it's a great way to level up fairly quickly
Revelio looks like a similar mechanic to the Assassin creed Eagle sense/Odins eye. But this looks much much more immersive. I can’t wait to play this tomorrow, I live in the UK and playing in PC so got to wait a little while longer. Great video 👍
Exactly I usually hate using that mechanic but love it in this
It is. I can’t stand that mechanic. This feels less bad, but it’s still the same thing as all of those games.
@@grambo1980 I agree, and it’s way way over used in this game, it’s ok for the first few hours, it is a good mechanic, but it gets old quickly.
@@andydbedford y’all complain about bullshit.
@@ssjkidgoku I’m not complaining at all, I love the game, I’m just pointing out a fact.
Best outfit is the white old school PJ with back hatch
It's perfect for night time roleplay where castle is dark and has no students and you're walking with Lumos
Also instead of looking through a map to find a certain quest marker you can hover the quest in the quest menu and it will bring you to the exact location on the map
I feel like floo points should require you to be near them to fast travel, I also wish they had an animation for it not just a jarring black screen
what for? it doesn't matter if your near a teleportation point and its good that way
just takes useless time away from your life if you want to you can just go to a teleportation location and then only then use the teleport if you really want to
@Elias Mi I understand that, it just takes away from the immersion a bit for me since if you were to actually use floo powder you would need to be near the fire
I didn't know that about the eye chests - just thought i could only unlock them later on
Also for most quests and even some of the tasks the professors give you there is a option to show on map the destination for said quest and it will even open the correct wing for the floo network
How does this work? Do you actually have your own shop at hogsmade?
@@nicoset5380 yes. You complete a mission in the shop which takes about 30 minutes. Loads of fun then the shop is yours, you name it. Then you can sell gear to it for higher prices
@@nicoset5380 This an Exclusive Playstation quest (everyone else is to gain access to it in about 1 year)
It's a ps4 exclusive apparently.....
I had so much fun with this quest, but this is a PlayStation exclusive quest
Not to brag or anything, but Deek is proud of all the potions I've brewed.
Levioso is great as well
If you have shitty speakers, turn on the audio visualizations option.
You say that your video is spoiler free, but honestly, finding out how to deal with those secrets was part of the fun of the experience.
Keyword “story” spoiler free
Do the main quest early, like up until you get the broom and unlock traits.
Also for early gamers, you can pick up plants at the hogwarts herbarium classes to save coins
I just read the "Daedalian Keys Unlock Something Amazing" and wasted like nearly an hour getting the last few I was missing only to find out "something amazing" was a shitty cosmetic. Thanks guy.
Combat challenges often tells you what is the best way to deal with mob. Eg. lifting mob by his tong and use diffendo.
There's a buyable potion station recipe that gives you a random potion every 10mins. I put 3 of them in my house of req.
Played a bit last night, midnight to about 2 am only got to first classes as I spent ages making my character, wish there was beard options
Same man. I was growing a beard at 16 so why not give the option.
@@walterpeck5214 thinking if they do a sequel or two for years 6 and 7 they'll add them then hopefully
I recently discovered this channel and videos are really good. I love learning whats new and gameplay/review of games i am interested and this is perfect for it. Thanks for the videos and keeping us posted on whats new.
You do know it says when you message your own channel, right?
Does no one else use Audio Visualizer? It helps Revelio show the direction of hidden stuff. Also turning on High Contrast helps you see everything important. It turns everything black amd white except important objects makes it super easy to find stuff
My only complaint about this game is the view based targeting. It works well until you do the dark pack trials. Which are awful as you are fighting 10 people at a time. They need to decouple the left stick cycing through enemies and just have it be a hard lock that you have to undo and redo. Right now it is unusable at least on controller. Also get rid of L2 to aim and make it a second spell page.
I had no clue about the "sonar" sound for the sheets! I'll pay attention now!
Here's a better tip for revelio
Turn on the visual cues for directional sounds, you WILL thank me
Thank you. So many times it chimes and im like well what freaking floor lol
@@CuttinChris you're good my guy, I don't hear so well, so I've always had trouble when devs put in stuff you have to find by sound alone.
I'm honestly floored that they thought of people like me
@@isaac13d the games pretty dang good been out of town for a few days and all I want to do is go home and play lmao
@@CuttinChris I bet, I'll tell you a piece of advice for when you do play. The guidebook in game tells you the special weaknesses of the enemies you face. And that's all I'm willing to say
@@isaac13d i saw that. Helped with a few fights already!
Recently found this channel and I have to say it didn't disappoint. Great information bro keep it up.
Welcome aboard!
going on the broom and going low enough you can pick up stuff without dismounting and also can use the revelio charm while mounted i found some good things while doing later in the game
When on your broom If u click the left stick you’ll have auto boost and still be able to boost more on top 💯
Thanks for the tips! Especially about Revelio. I've watch a bunch of tip videos and none of them talked about Revelio
Thanks for this awesome video.
I pre-purchased this on PC. Would using a controller like for an Xbox make combat/spell selection easier?
Go to quests, use F on keyboard to show where that quest is on the map. Easy map navigation. Took me until Lv 24 to even see that option
I thought I read somewhere that there are 3 of the house tokens that you cannot acquire until much later in the game. I think you have to go to some areas, like the faculty and medical wing which are locked early on.
Yes, I did every side quest as it became available. It took me 18h. But it should be less than 10h if u rush it
@@GlairGullwing I was able to get the last 3 tokens once I got access to the faculty and medical wings
Yeah you need the unlock spell. Gotta do those main missions
Whoa, thank you for the inventory tip
. I'm big on loot so this warning will help a lot.
i’m watching every video i can because i am so excited!!!
My cousin has it on PS5 and he let me play it for 2 hours. I told him I need more!!!
Enjoy every second of launch! Games like this don't come out too often
Noticed yesterday that having Lumos ON shows hidden page's shadow.
Solid tip
you can burst shields with stupefy on Hard, you just need to time the counter at the very last frame before the attack hits. feels very satisfying
That's the perfect protego that breaks the shields because it reflects the enemy attack back at them. Stupify of a basic counter on lower difficulties will insta break shields. That's why we pointed it out.
@@LegacyGamingUS oh!
I found the Hogwarts Floo map to be pretty intuitive and didn't even realize that you could interact with the list on the left for a long time.
10 hours in I'm loving the game except for the fact that you have to start up the potions manually instead of just creating a batch and come back later.
Legacy, the 7th year students coaching the wizard initiates. Thank you!
Yeah that's called transmog haha
This video is a must lol I learned a few things that got me stuck at the moment. Thanks 🙏🏽
I thought I had to wait for some mission that explains the eye chests. Sucks cause now I have to find a ton of chests I didn't open.
This is fantastic tips... some of which I didn't realize after 10 hrs of playing! Thanks!
Me too man the world is so cool but those original characters are beyond played out. I'm so glad it wasn't centered around them.
Omg I was wondering what that ping was thank you 😅
Another Trick: There is no need to purchase Venomous Tentatula seeds as the Greenhouses have provided enough to make your inventory full of them when needed in combat.
the disillusionment chest... omg thanks
Thanks for sharing! All the best!
The map tip is the best
Thank you for providing objective commentary on a good game
The three unforgivables can break any shield. So just equip them
Man the game is full of smileage. Gives me Fable 1 vibes. The entire world is enchanted. 💯
3:58 using toggle? how? I mosty lock on and when I counter I switch targets but u seem to mean switch targets while not being locked on?
Can anyone explain lock on vs no lock on combat? cuz I see no reason to not be locked on.
so thats how u open the jumping chests. thanks man
Excellent video! So helpful 🤟 Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I feel much more prepared and even more excited
