AUTUMN HARVEST Selection of Taniguchi Gosanke and Goshiki Koi

- It's a busy time of year here at Koi Wholesale as we prepare for the 2021 Autumn Harvest. In this video, Koi Wholesale Managing Director, Ricky Stoddart, gets hands-on with a selection of Gosanke and Goshiki Koi from one of his favourite breeders - Taniguchi Koi Farm.
These Koi were shipped from Japan, into Koi Wholesale on 9 April 2021, and since then have progressed through a number of previous selection processes to get to this point. During this selection Ricky identifies which Koi will be kept to grow on further at Koi Wholesale, and which will be sold to Koi dealers across the UK, and then onwards to Koi hobbyists. He explains the quality of the Koi - from the bone structure, skin quality, and pattern, right through to the potential future development of the fish.

Love my Taniguchi Kohaku Ricky , she's superb quality and the growth I have had this season has been superb ! Bought at 19cm I think early last year off Kev. She's now 59cm ! 👌

Absolutely superb🏆🏅🥇. Only wish I could come and buy some🙁. I see quality like too infrequently, are you able to say what dealers you sell to because I want to go and camp outside their door👍😊. same here pal wish we could come and buy some cut the middle man out as you would pay double the price at dealers don't get me wrong dealers got make a living just make hard for work class like us to buy high end fish lol
@@sony436 i'm very lucky in that aspect, i'm 16 so over the summer I worked at a koi dealer in Belgium and I can tell him what i'm looking for and he buy's them from the koi farms for me and I get a big discount.

@@sony436 without the dealers there is no Koi Wholesale and no koi industry. They get access to the prices they do because of the quantity that they buy and I guarantee you’ll be getting the best deals buying from them. I’m happy to put you in touch with some people if you wish.

Where do you get those net cages with the zippers on top?
I bring them back from Japan with me. Although Norfine nets do produce a range.
