I'd say Clayton's death by hanging is much more disturbing than Ursula's death. As a child I remember being scared by Ursula's skeleton being lit up when she died. But seeing the shadow of Clayton's lifeless body hanging from a vine? That's pretty dark no matter what age you are.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Yes, yes. I totally agree with you...
KingAdrock420 yeah i would swap cleytons death with urulas
KingAdrock420 I think the way it was showcased was perfect. A very eerie and gruesome death yet subtle and still in taste. The way you never get to see the actual body but the shadow against the tree was very clever, as it gets across the idea very clearly.
whatupguys1 I'm not saying it was out of line for Disney to do, but I think it's the darkest of the lot by far. Sometimes less is more, and I think leaving his body unseen, showing only the shadowy silhouette of him hanging lifeless actually makes the scene MORE disturbing, not less.
Don't get me wrong, the scene isn't bad in the least, quite the opposite. Everything UP to the flash of lighting makes for a good "Disney death". But once that flash reveals the profile of his hanging corpse, it takes a HUGE turn for the macabre; especially for Disney.
No one's vain like Gaston!

It's weird. Before this video, I knew Gaston ended up falling to his death. What I didn't know was the skull symbol in his eyes through a paused moment. Thanks, Watchmojo: now it's even more messed up!
RIP Gaston
That moment when you realize people didn’t realize Clayton’s shadow before
And the parents!
Of Tarzan
I never did
I never did until later in life. I was shocked to see his shadow. When I told my sister about the shadow she was shocked as well. Edit: The scene in the video was a bit different the scene I saw. The scene I saw still having Clayton hanged from a vine but you could see his full body and the vine that hung him in the shadow.

The live action version shows his death on screen while he put up a fight to protect himself from the hyenas.
Theory: the reason why most of the antagonists die by falling, is probably because the creators didn't want the protagonist to commit the same crimes that the villain did.
Yeah I think so. I have to love Scar's death scene, I'm upset that other Disney movies aren't that brutal.

Clayton's death was most definitely the best death of them all. Not the best Disney villain going, but his death was so realistic which always adds to the horror. Something like that can happen in real life. The lack of magic was also brilliant. Not to mention his body being hung from the tree, now that was fucking disturbing.
Disney should main Roadhog more often if he killed Clayton like that.
Clayton's death is 10x more scary than all of them.
What's worse is that until this day (I am almost 23 years old) I keep thinking that his body's still hanging there
It mostly like would have been eaten by animals shortly afterwards.
Tarzan ate his body
Clayton's death was a clean kill, and definitely scary, but he was killed clean by his own recklessness. Not really scary for everyone involved.
Ursula's death was more brutal considering she gets impaled. We're talking Vladimir Teppes level brutality! Imagine being a kid and seeing these deaths. Back in the 80's, I saw Ursula's death and wasn't phased, but it was still BRUTAL! To this day I wish movies would replicate that sort of graphic brutality for a villain's death!

The same used to happen to me with the Horned King’s death scene.
I already thought that “The Black Cauldron” was a really scary movie. I would always dream that some monster was lurking around, and that was enough to freak me out. Sometimes, I would dream that the Horned King was after me, and I could barely get any sleep. Dreams about his death we’re the worst. I personally never liked the feeling of losing my flesh, catching on fire severest times, exploding, and then getting sucked into the cauldron.
Meanwhile, Dr. Facilier is literally being dragged into hell..
I feel bad for Clayton because getting hung, especially from that height, must have DESTROYED his neck.
However, I do blame him for it because he CUT THE VINE HE WAS HOLDING ON TO.

I love how a lot of the villain's death happen at their own hand. Scar, Frollo, Gaston and Clayton to name a few. The hero spared their life as long as they fucked off. Hell even Tarzan and Quasimodo tried to physically SAVE Clayton and Frollo. All in all that's just ironic. In the end the villains greed and arrogance fucked them over.
Why are Disney deaths mostly about falling from a high place to hell 😐
The least graphic thing they can show.
Clayton's death has GOT to be the most nasty of them all. That shit was just disturbing, seeing his body literally propelled from the gallows was sinister. It was quite realistic and believable as well, it's very much possible for something like to happen like that in real life. There was no alchemy or magic tricks in it either, even better.
AngryBirdRedXD's Studios! Yeah
When I was 5 I didn't understand what happened but I knew he deserved it
When I watched the shadow of Clayton on the tree I froze. It was very unsettling and nerve racking to see but it’s Disney’s way of saying don’t be stupid and listen to others lol
guess Clayton's death was an actual RIP vine
The scariest part of Mother Gothel's death (to me) was her reflection in the cracked mirror. It made it look like she had 50 eyes, and the way she pulls her hood over her head is just very unsettling. Ursula's death is scary too. The way she wraps her tentacles around the boat gives off a Kraken vibe.
For me it was the fact when she hit the ground it was just freaking dust- showing how long ago she should’ve died
@@patiencewallace8453 oof
Literally 75% of these are "fall into the abyss" deaths.
That is the best kind of death.
Well, it is the best way to avoid making a Disney protagonist a killer.
Of course, so there will be no blood or violence
Trotmaster15
but not the most terrifying, which Is why I consider lists like this more as jokes as as serious top 10 lists because if its coming to disney its literally play 10-8 falling to death and 2 and 1 the only ones where Disney took a risky step.
75%?? So 7,5 out of ten deaths? Was someone cut in half before he/she fell?
Disney seems to have a lot of falling deaths.
Reduce the gore, up the kiddie nightmares of falling
If they have to be scared of one thing, better scared of falling than being taunted and kicked off a cliff by a lion. Although I suppose they go hand in hand. Carry on then.
But Clayton didn't fall to his death, he got hung by a vine.
Erik Hackney I never said he did, I said there are a lot of falling deaths.
Paper Armory especially scoop and mr Arrow being in the same movie and dying the same way
So, my dad Phil Young worked on many of the films in this list and actually animated a few of the deaths listed herein. Mainly, Mufasa falling and Clayton getting hung. So fun facts on both of those deaths. I remember seeing some of the animation he was doing, as he would often bring it home to work on. Originally, in Lion King Mufasa was going to fall and I saw a follow up scene which was cut. The cut scene was a side view long shot of Mufasa falling and the wildebeest stampede hitting him and his body rolling to a stop. Which was very powerful, but as they rightfully guessed, WAY too intense. Bad enough he gets killed in the first place. Clayton was even more graphic. The scene plays out as it does in the final release, but instead of the shadow of Clayton flashing in the lightning, you actually see his feet jerk to a stop, and dangle. My dad even added in a final twitch on his foot. Again, the editors decided the shadow would be effective enough. It was amazing the amount of work that goes into any Disney film. I'd see him work on a scene for a month or so, and then on screen, it's only a few seconds.
Zamn, that's disturbing as all halcandra.
dang
That's amazing!
Me with disney deaths:okay this is fine
Also me with clayton's death: *Gets nightmares for weeks*
Dr Facilier was scarier.
Ursula 's death was not even scary

Not even Clayton! The parents were killed by a jaguar!
@@quinnycat5109 now that I think of it, Tarzan has a lot of deaths, If there were more people on the ship, then the non-survivors, then there is the baby gorilla, with the baby gorilla, Tarzan's parents, there is also the death of the jaguar, we also have big daddy gorilla (ok, I'm sorry), and Clayton's death of course. Clayton definitely wasn't the best Disney villain in comparison to the likes of Frollo and Scar, but his death was the best of them all. That was all kinds of disturbing. That shadow of his body propelling from the tree was graphic for a kids movie, also because his death was so realistically possible. Neck snapping from the rope? That kind of thing can easily happen in real life.

Newton is the real hero in a lot of Disney movies
Also, Tiana has destroyed Facilier's talisman. so Tiana is the first and only Disney princess who managed to kill the villain.
Also, all this characters have 2 eyes, so Illuminati confirmed x2.
um......Mulan obliterated an entire army. sure, not the villain (that was mushu), but she still managed to pin him down so he wouldnt escape the blast. so Mulan is more brutal.
Good point. Also, dammit! Now I want a fig Newton. Ps lol about the illuminati thing.

Clayton’s will never fail to give me the chills what makes it more sad/creepy is the fact that Tarzan knew it was going to happen you can hear him call Clayton’s name to try get him to stop, but obviously he doesn’t listen and falls to his death

Clayton's death was especially disturbing because of how realistic it was, no magic at all. Breaking his neck from the fall off the tree? That can very much happen in real life.
Frankly, Ive never understood why so many people get so upset by his death, but that's probably just because I have seen like 2 Disney movies, so I don't know the baseline for the violence.

To be honest, Syndrome's death in _The Incredibles_ was pretty brutal, maybe not on-screen, but the dude got sucked into a jet turbine, scrabbling fruitlessly as he's choked by the cape around his neck, pulling him in more and more, before being shredded to death in the spinning blades, and then on top of that, the jet engine explodes.
He did have it coming though.
NO CAPES
Kurt Whitley agreed
Edna foreshadowed his death when she denied Bob’s request for a cape by reminding him about other superheroes who perished when their capes caught in said objects
Kurt Whitley I forgot incredibles where a Disney movie
What about Sykes head-onning a subway in Oliver and Company?
I like the way Bell ignores the idea that she just saw Gaston plummet to his death. Shes like, "Damn, that's tough, but are you ok?"
I don't blame Belle to be honest. Gaston was beyond the point of redemption at that point.
Most of the villains death in disney movies are literally falling to their deaths
For me, Clayton's death definitely took the cake for me, just the fact that we're able to see his hanging body gives me the chills, children who don't really understand it probably won't even bother to think about it except rejoice for the villain's death, but when you *do* understand *those* things, it's really creepy and scary
Vrixienn ikr because I dont remember being creeped out until I knew what hanging was
Vrixienn Yeah when I was 3 I didn’t understand on that part I thought he died from the masahte Or Lost Him
Vrixienn Same for me, when I watched the movie for the first time, I didn't think of his death, but now I do. It's not as graphic because it doesn't show his upper body, but still, pretty grusome
Notice that in the scene it didn't show his head. If you think about it, if someone fell from that high up in the trees with vines wrapped around their throat, their HEAD would literally rip off upon getting hanged. That is way worse than just the hanging itself. That's why I like Tarzan's villain death better. Lion King's villain death is second.
Once my teacher put Tarzan and then she sees the hanging body and immediately clicks out of the movie XD
Clayton’s seems scarier than Ursula’s.
Mr. Arrows death certainally shocked the hell out of me when I was younger.
I love how in gastons death scene the beast almost falls too but is grabbed by belle, signifying her choice
I think Clayton should've been #1 man; that one still gets me
Yea its pretty messed up for Disney, probably cuz of the shadow and how the scene was set up
All the deaths in Tarzan were pretty traumatic. I still have a tough time watching the opening song. The poor baby gorilla :(
I laughed at his death
Clayton's should be #1 because it is the most realistic. No magic, voodoo, Shakespearean backstabbing with animals, etc., just plain ol' evil bastard getting his just desserts. Also, showing that he's hanged via shadow from lightning strikes is a nice, macabre touch. Plus, the fact that the Disney hero (if you will) tried to save him, yet failed, also makes it all the more scarring. Tarzan was a REALLY great movie.
Clayton death made me have nightmares because people think that's not so s Ray but when you think about it that is scary.
Holy crap I didn't see Clayton's shadow until I saw this video! That's horrifying

another movie that i did not really think was scary but others might: Atlantis 3 deaths, last one most messed up...
Are we forgetting in Dinosaurus, when the Carnotaurus first appear, it just bit a Styracosaurus at the back of the neck, slamming it to the ground into a dust pile, covering the brutal scenery?
Ya know,
The majority of Disney deaths are them falling to their death...
Mikasa Ackerman That's because seeing them get their head loped off or being impaled or crushed is really going over the line. Letting them fall out of sight to die is less... gruesome.
Well Mikasa your world is more terrifying
Venom Quill well it doesn't need to be that gruesome. There are many ways for the person to die than falling.
***** ...eh. Better than being hung, I guess.
Tab ouretski Suffication, carbon monoxide poisoning, old age, heart attack... eh.
Moral of the story: if you’re gunna be a villain, be able to fly, and be flame resistance
And don’t go to a jungle
And sword resistance too
Emmy Eymard oh and don’t get involved with voodoo lmao
And maybe watch where your swinging that machete
And have strong armor.
10:37-10:39 I never understood that part as a kid. But when I got older...
Me: Oh, _oh._
Moral of the Story:
Never star in a Disney movie as a villain or parent.
No, parents are fine. It just depends on luck because some parents did stay alive for the whole movie. Fa Zhou is a perfect example. Thanks to his daughter Mulan, he was spared from an early death. So really, it's a luck of the draw for Disney parents. Disney Villains, not so much. You're almost certainly guaranteed to be hated, at least by your fellow characters and given a karmic death, scary or not. Or at the very least, face a harsh punishment for your despicable behavior as recent times has shown us.
Clayton’s death is just so disturbing! He was strangled and you saw his shadow, wich made it more terrifying!
Colin Cartoons! the shadow is the worst part🤦🏽♀️. i never saw it until this video
Hatsoomi oh ok,
Yeah for the whole family! :D now G-rated! :)
I agree - that always freaked me out about that scene.
YES I AGREE ITS SCARY!! Tarzan looked at him also so he knows that Clayton has been hanged
Hatsoomi WHY you just made me more scared!!!
The Disney death(s) that terrifies me the most:
Clayton (Tarzan)
Doctor Facilier (The Princess And The Frog)
Black Cat2300 Dr. Facilier freaked me out SUPER bad. Maybe more than Clayton.
The Thing Is I'm Now Scared For People Living In Louisiana.
Black Cat2300 Clayton death was scary but being eaten alive, dragged to hell to burn eternally, body being torn to shreds and you're body disintegrating...... those seem much more scary to me.
The thing with Facilier is for whatever reason he just seems like a really likable villain to me. When he was LITERALLY M dragged to Hell, I felt just.. empty. It didn’t feel like a happy ending
Traci Helton ont be afraid..... Come to lake charles, la. As boring as it is! Im leaving for Nashville TN.
I find it BS that Ursula died by a ship when she can easily stop it with her tentacles, avoid it, or straight up destroy the thing with her magic or trident.
Maleficent’s death is also bs. Even if the fairy give the sword enchant that resemble a heat sealing missile (sword), her sturdy dragon scale could totally deflect it with ease.
Also how the evil queen just suddenly got struck by lightning is also BS. Ending it like that is just too forced if you ask me
Theirs actually a bit of proof she didnt die from the sword. Cant remember where it was but theirs an article
She had two seconds to react. She wasn't that fast. Ursula was a big target. She couldn't avoid it. She could barely move. She wasn't paying attention to the ship.
Actually Ursula was supposed to die by having the trident thrown at her by Eric, but it was cut, but later used in Kingdom Hearts 2.
Gastons death is my reason why im scared of heights...
what the hell is with Disney and and people falling to death?
My theory has always been, if you're a Disney villain, and you don't have any magical powers, you fall to your death. However, Queen Grimhilde from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is an exception to the rule--although she also got crushed by a boulder, and mostly likely devoured by those vultures in the end.
How many Disney villains do we need to change a lightbulb?
Even if we had infinite, they would fall of the ladder and die.
That's because it's one of the very few ways a person can die without directly showing a dead body on screen. It's violence and death without gore, allowing it to be "child-friendly". You'll know they died, but not have to see it as it happens.
Jack Mehoff
It's the least visual death they can conjure up.
I think that if someone fall to death they won't have to show the body to the kids
Is nobody gonna talk about when Syndrome got SUCKED INTO A FREAKING JET ENGINE
Oh Pixar, Disney same thing guys
I REMEMBER THAT ONE!
Kids.. this is why heroes shouldn't have capes
BuT tHaT wAs P i X a R
Temiloluwa Daramewa yes
That was the most horrific death in a kid's movie I've ever seen in my life. Being shredded to death.
Amor Heaven
Edna is god

Yes I do too
Clayton was #1 for me.
Phoenix Prime yeah same here.

Agree. The way you only see his shadow hanging is terrifying.
I was about to say that
Yea still to this day
Two sides of Disney movies:
-Happy childlike innocence
-Savage violence
*Scar getting mauled to death intensifies*
Oh, you need to see the ending of Heather's. I almost threw up but that's just coz I'm not so good with blood
Who else is here from the Whatcha Say video?
Me
mhm.
1:56: "paused " is that skulls in his eyes 😲😲😲
So pretty much if you're a Disney villain, STAY AWAY FROM HIGH PLACES
And Fire (Scar and Frollo), Things that can stab you (Maleficent and Ursula), Vines (Clayton), Cliffs (Evil Queen), and more.
Giana Williams And friends on the other side (Facilier).
It's Over Anakin! I have the high ground!
Right but there are a lot of other places that can cause a villains death
EBryant if you’re a Disney Villain, pick a different profession if you don’t want to die.
Disney really enjoys throwing people off cliffs, don't they...
Maybe that's why I do all the screwed up things I do in video games. It all makes sense now *gasp*
no visible carnage and it's usually "accidental" so the good guy can't be at fault.
onecutesweetypie the cameleon from tabgled kiled mother ghotel
Simao Pereira Killed*
Simao Pereira I never thought of it as Pascal killing her...
They also love pushing lemmings off them
Just one thing to know about Clayton’s death.
A watered-down version of it was present in the TV series! We don’t really see the hanging shadow but we see nearly everything else.
On screen
ive never watched tarzan and I seen how clayton died
if I would’ve seen that when I was like 8 I’d probably cry 🥺
it’s to disturbing to see the shadow of the body
Clayton’s death spooked me real good when I was a kid
Tarzan left Clayton "hanging"!
UndeniableBlack gaming heh......
Same
the Swift King i was shooketh
I don't think The Little Mermaid should have been 1. I think Tarzan should have.
Either one could be number one in my opinion.
Jun except there should a bit of ink coming out of Ursula(blood).
I agree, I mean at lest number one left everyone with a lifetime supply of calamari...
O
Yeah Gaston got hanged
Getting sucked into a black-hole has to be the most terrifying death ever.
Disney Villains: **exists**
Gravity: I’m bout to end this man’s whole career.
2:43
Scar:*goes for the kill*
Simba: uses uno reverse card
Ye
Lol
*Dinosaur dies IN DISNEY MOVIE*
Disney: Ah yes let's put happy music in the background
Stegosauraus more stronger than that
YEE
The most terrifying for me would be Dr. Faciliers death (sorry I forgot how to spell his name). The first time I saw that movie, I didn’t even finish because of the voodoo magic.
Nobody:
Everyone: *Falls to their death*
Scar: *Survives his long Fall and gets impaled by Hyenas*
