I give this video 7/10. If you used that annoying guy as the target I would have given you 11/10.

Agreed. Dude looks like he belongs in a rock concert (a gay one), not a NASA research facility...

The guy ask some kind of stupid questions but your video is WAY better than what I've seen from the science channel about this. Answered all my questions about how these guns work. Thanks NASA!

I've always wanted to build a hyper-velocity cannon

how can i get the dataset related to hypervelocity impact testing!

Where can one find more information regarding this? I'd like to know how quickly the projectile decelerates upon leaving the muzzle & if the conical shape of the 'breech' before the rupture valves makes a big impact upon the velocity or not.

I would like to know, is it possible to ignite that hydrogen gas as the projectile passes a certain point giving it a forgive my pun, jolt of kicking power. basically adding a spark of electrical current to ignite the hydrogen gas as it expands pushing the projectile at an even greater speed? Is there any way to add more momentum using the Magnetic Accelerator theory like the channel magnetic games used ruclips.net/video/iyv9GhaITNE/видео.html or perhaps a bladed spiral barrel with less contacting surface? Why not do all, how fast would the object travel?

There is no oxygen to burn the hydrogen.
And if there were, you would have water vapor, thats very heavy and couldnt accelerate the bullet.

Is light gas gun a military weapon as well?
Does it have a kinetic projectile or an explosive projectile ?

For unclassified info.. Probably just kinetic. Classified info... They're probably dabbling with high velocity penetrating projectiles maybe with explosives. Who knows.

This one here is unclassified information. For the classified information... They might be experimenting on tungsten armor piercing projectiles on 2 meter thick hardened steel. Who knows. Hahsha

Its to complicated and with airresistance the bullet wouldnt be much faster than a regular one.
Also at that speed explosive energy is so low compared to the kinetic , its not worth it.
