Well, I really love those SSI promotion vid's, and if I had a bit more space in the backyard and a bit more money, i'd probably buy one just for fun. BUT: How can you shred such a beautiful old BMW?!
If they lower the end of the conveyor nearer to the top of the skip, 1. It uses less energy because of less upward movement 2. It makes less mess on the floor around the skip.
I've been looking everywhere, but I can't find any film of it just now. I can tell you it's owned by Simms Metals, which is a very big international company.
3 things. 1: Optimus Prime can now be defeated. 2:Superman is no longer invulnerable to ANYTHING. 3. I would not wanna be in that car while it's in there.
Ive Watched about a dozen videos on theses shredders shredding cars..and its hard to think that these 2,000 pound cars just being Destroyed like they are little Toy Cars. Its crazy
I could watch that thing shred cars all day, but I am wondering if that BMW 2002 could have donated some sheetmetal to other people's restoration projects.
@CraigBMW2002 we're saying the same thing. I own a classic car and can appreciate the value of the bmw. Shred a ford exploder or something that's busted and worthless, not something that is sought-after and rare.
lmao, its frekin portable, imagine one day you park your car on the street and when you come back its just a pile of crushed/cut up pieces. hahaha that would be so funny
It was just the car frame, not the full car with all the innards. Should be pretty easy to grind up but that shredder doesnt look like it was made for such big items.
Hey! I will like veeeeeeery much watching shred a SSI shredding machine. And so on until all shredding machines are shred. And the last one crushed. Will you do pleaaaaaaseeeee??? XDDD
While I wouldn't use it to trim my toenails, it did take longer to render down the car body than I expected. I've seen a shredder used at a major recycling plant and there is no car left in 40 seconds flat. Mind you, that is a built in installation.
Shreding a 2002 is like sheding a ferrari.
OHH! THE HUMANITY! I love those old BMW 2002's! I want to restore one some day and thanks to you there is one less in the world! Thanks!
Now put it back together.
The only thing cooler that I could think of is a full car (tires, engine block, full tank, manikins, et al). Great vid.
Every car we've ever owned will eventually wind up like this. No exceptions. It's the way of the world. I wonder if there's a car heaven?
This shredder is the only man-made machine on earth that can imitate Chuck Norris eating breakfast
An oldtimer bmw,..worth at least 10.000 euro when restored
Well, I really love those SSI promotion vid's, and if I had a bit more space in the backyard and a bit more money, i'd probably buy one just for fun. BUT:

This is so much cooler than: "Will It Blend?" !
If they lower the end of the conveyor nearer to the top of the skip,

Best use for a bmw I've seen yet.
Shredding an classic. Nice going!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guy walking away was like: That was MY car. You got the wrong car!
Never imagined that it would take that long to crush it. The machines I saw before where lots faster.
If that shredder had life and vocal cords, right now it would be like "OM NOM NOM NOM NOM"
I think it is hilarious how the car is flapping like a fish in the shredder and car parts are coming up the conveyor belt
I've never seen a car shredded b4... awesome!!!!
incredible power. how much torque has a machine like that?
I've been looking everywhere, but I can't find any film of it just now. I can tell you it's owned by Simms Metals, which is a very big international company.
Looks like an early 70's BMW 2002. Surely there was some half decent parts on it. But man that looked like fun.
Oh geez... I know people who would have sparked a new life into that classic...
And that's how you know that time moves forward, because you never really see those things suck in debris and spit out a car. :)
PRI-MAX ROOLZ! BMW DROOLZ!
But seriously, next time I have an expensive car to shred I'll call you.
Absolutely amazing response.
I literally cried while watching this video.
"This video is a response to Will It Blend? - Golf Balls" .... LOLOLOL
No, it's MUCH MUCH bigger! It lives in Newport, south Wales in the UK. Last year, the Discovery channel filmed a documentary about it.
"I told you we should have asked for directions, but NOOO..."
3 things. 1: Optimus Prime can now be defeated. 2:Superman is no longer invulnerable to ANYTHING. 3. I would not wanna be in that car while it's in there.
About 30 mile from where I live, we have the biggest car shredder in the world. It can handle about 400 cars per hour!
Oh my god that's a 2002! I've enjoyed these videos, but this one crossed a line.
Guess it goes without saying, that's one wicked machine.
That was actually a classic BMW. I'm a little sad to see it end like this, and I'm not even a bimmer fan.
There probably wasn't much salvageable on it. I assume no tranny or engine.
There wasn't much left of that car to start with and have you ever been to the scrap yard? What do you think they do with old, beat up, damaged cars?
The rarer it is the better it shreds.
I want to see a video of you guys shredding a shredder.
+Aderic Been there, done that, a LONG time ago. It should be somewhere in their videos...
That looks like so much fun!
Ive Watched about a dozen videos on theses shredders shredding cars..and its hard to think that these 2,000 pound cars just being Destroyed like they are little Toy Cars. Its crazy
the muffler was holding on for dear life.
BMW: Broken Massive Washing-machine.
does the cost of the recovered metal outweigh the cost of energy to shred it?
Now that would be one hell of a rebuild...
"Ya know a lot of that will probably buff right out"
gieko 15 minutes could save your car from brutally being shredded
Can't wait till the tuner cars time is up
Now I want one!(The shredder, that is....)
because you shredded such a classic german car, lets see your shredder survive a ton of termite.
The Pri-Max can do approx 7 cars a minute - depending on the size of the vehicle - what does one cost ?
BMW = OWNED!!
Shred a piece of cake
1:32 ~~ Notice the cars' gizzards hanging out..
..EURGHHH!
could not have agreed more
Have a look on Live Leak mate - IT's ON THERE!
omg it has been so long since i watched that show....
lmao, its frekin portable, imagine one day you park your car on the street and when you come back its just a pile of crushed/cut up pieces. hahaha that would be so funny
Yet another Shredder the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would do well to avoid.
Those are the smallest fragments I've seen a metal shredder make yet.
Somehow Mythbusters is going to have to use one of these in their show.
i still want that bimmer. it's just like a very verylarge puzzle
It was just the car frame, not the full car with all the innards. Should be pretty easy to grind up but that shredder doesnt look like it was made for such big items.
omg that Bimmer still had at least 10 years left in it!
;p
I had a heart attack just watching this... Poor Bimmer
Hey! I will like veeeeeeery much watching shred a SSI shredding machine. And so on until all shredding machines are shred. And the last one crushed. Will you do pleaaaaaaseeeee??? XDDD
that thing is a monster
I bet the radio still works
Now you see it...Now you don't.
Will it blend? That is the question..
While I wouldn't use it to trim my toenails, it did take longer to render down the car body than I expected. I've seen a shredder used at a major recycling plant and there is no car left in 40 seconds flat. Mind you, that is a built in installation.
Word.
I used to have a 2002. That car could have sold for a grand at least.
chuck norris doesnt get shredded, the shredder gets chuck norrised
Looks like the shredder senses when too much torque is being applied, and throws itself into reverse to prevent damaging the teeth.
I would love to see it try and take on a Panzer tank
Mafia #1 customer
In case you weren't observing, that was only the frame of the car - and even it was rusted to oblivion. Scrap metal.
@bmw0208 agreed a 2002 is a fantastic car regardless of condition
Yay, this should happen to all BMWs. :)
Typical BMW fan boi reply
It can... try looking at the other videos.
this is why it's good to wear your seat belts
they should have some sort of claws that cover the material being crushed, because if that car bumped out, and someone was standing there... ouchh
it did do a very fast job. need some pressure on top. then it would have done better
What do you do for a living?
I shred stuff
So that's what Chuck Norris stomach looks like.
*In Borat voice* YES!!! Lolol Very nice ;)
@ROCKSOLID19 thank you
$10,000 to whoever takes all the bits and puts the car back together!
It is not a early model 5 series it is in fact a BMW 2002. I would know because I own one.
imagine falling in by accident
I think it stops to keep it from damaging itself. No reason to over stress the machine. It will shred it eventually.
What did it cost to run that machine for one car?
I saw this bmw in one of their vids in perfect condition+ in one piece :(
That aint your average paper shredder
What do they do with all the stuff once it's shredded?
***** yes right.
It's sold as a puzzle, you have to put it together and it becomes a car.
looks like all the good stuff had been removed before they destroyed the rest
I think they stopped it so the cameraman could change position to film the rest coming out in pieces.
Its the blendtec blenders bigger brother!
Was this an old Bavaria? Too bad.
It was a 2002. Even sadder :(
I will have nightmares about my car getting shreded now.
Let's see you shred a PRI-MAX shredder.
No, it will just go thru
