I remember having dial up with PeoplePC and literally would wait 20 minutes for it to buffer 5-10 seconds of the video and I'd play the 5 seconds, then rewind, then wait another 20 minutes and watch from the beginning. It took well over an hour to buffer the whole video. It's amazing how times change. Now I can watch it on my laptop and it buffers instantly.

If I had planned this video, the VW's gas tank would have sparked. Igniting all the gear oils and upholstery. Then I'd have a big column of smoke go up, the fire department show up, then, finally the shredder covered in foam.
The engine and trans were pulled before they shredded it. You can tell when they drop it in, back end first, and there isn't much material showing on the conveyer belt when it starts shredding. Not that it would have been a problem for the machine...

Floor pans were shot, but the interior and the semi-rare steering-wheel looked pretty good, wheels might have been still good (unless bent) but aren't really rare since so many beetles have been parted out over the years, looks like the engine/transmission and gas tank were removed, the glass looked to be mostly good (wonder if the rear defrost still had good connection points?), then finally after all was said and done- is that a perfectly intact brake shoe? I noticed the 'Hippie' popped the hood release when he parked and also shut the door improperly so the bug seemed more decepit than it was! Tricky!
Other than the Beetle issue, I think it did a poor Job too. It took quite a while, was putting nasty dust up everywhere and left jagged tangled pieces. A couple of good guys would have it taken apart and separated into material types in a short time.
