      @@phillipbanes5484 the only reason I am getting one (LE trim but still) is because in an apartment building's parking lot, ev charging is extremely expensive and almost inexistant... its not in every case an EV makes more sense. Although a base model 3 is MILES better than a loaded Prius, I have to agree with you there

    • @underscorechaz
      @underscorechaz Год назад

      @@phillipbanes5484 I think it’s a problem of infrastructure integration lagging behind, it’s a pretty easy problem to fix, and one that will be fixed eventually but yeah in the mean time there are still downsides

    • @underscorechaz
      @underscorechaz Год назад

      @@phillipbanes5484 well first, it’s uncommon to have electric car charging mostly cause it’s usually implemented way after the building is built, and second it’s expensive to implement, so currently only luxury apartments get them, and as of right now mostly in big cities; but with the auto industry shifting to electric SO fast (recent meta analyses show that over half of Americans are considering new or used evs for their next cars, and many automakers have overtly announced their plans to fully electrify their entire lineup in the next 10 years), it’s going to be a simple supply and demand question; apartment buildings will be forced to offer affordable charging to keep clients happy…
      so basically I kinda misspoke by saying it’s easy… it’s more that it’s inevitable that the issue will be fixed once the demand is there in the near future

    We went the opposite regards colour and bought the Pearl hue. Everybody thinks it's white, but when you take a really close-up look you see it isn't white at all. Love that.
    And, pop off one of those plastic hub-caps. You will find a really nice alloy wheel, not a cheap stamped steel rim. Never have I seen this with another car!
    5,000Km so far and we have used less than 1.5 tanks of gas.

    I plan on upgrading my 2010 Prius to the new 2023 Prius (Limited). I have been watching reviews since the Prius ' first release and this is one of the best reviews. You show all of the features and give us an in depth look of the Prius and its new features. Great review, thank you.

  • @TomLawlor-iq6gm
    @TomLawlor-iq6gm 5 месяцев назад +1

    You have done a great overview of all the features with the new Prius. But, I must quibble with one thing; The Brake Hold button isn't (at least with our 24 Prime), meant to keep the car at a stop in intersections and such. It's meant to automatically apply the handbrake every time you park and to release the brake when ready to drive. And, you don't have to press the button every time you start the car (at least with the Canadian model).
    We are in love with ours's. 5,000Km on it now and have used less than 1.5 tanks of gas. Worst part is the daily argument over which one of us gets to drive..................

    Nice review. I traded my 2016 Prius for the 2023 XLE model. It has taken me a couple of months to get used to it. The first complaint I have is the noise it makes from the speaker under the hood to warn people. It is only from 0 to 19 MPH and louder in reverse. NO ONE ever mentions this "feature". This is my 4th Prius from 2004 to now. I went on You Tube and found the fix for this NOISE!
    They also didn't tell us about only having one FOB for the car and as of now they say "I should" have my second FOB by March. I took delivery in June. My 2016 had much more storage in back and it was much easier to get in and out of. I'm 6' 2" but I'm getting used to it. The ride makes up for all the negative things about it which aren't that many really. Again, very nice review.

My wife and I are looking into the LE for a new second vehicle and just like yourself, we love the simplicity, too. One thing I thought would be a really cool edition is if Toyota allowed you to display either Apple or Google Maps on the HUD so it's right in from of the driver instead of off to the side. I just purchased a 2024 Prius LE. I wanted the entry level trim, because it gets better gas mileage than the other trims. I drive a lot for work and I want to squeeze every last MPG I can. I've managed to achieve the advertised 57 MPG. I drive over 400 miles for work and I can get to my destination on one tank of gas and still have plenty of range for local driving when I get there. I've said all that, to say this... I freaking love my Prius. This is the second one I've owned, I had a 2010 model several years ago, before I got a Corolla Hatchback. I traded my Corolla in for the Prius. My one and only gripe about the newer version, is that it doesn't have a back windshield wiper. I'm ok with that and can live without it. 😁😃😄

      The car is worth the wait. Ours took 21 months to land. I was astonished when told how expensive a Prime can be in some European countries. One chap said the car would cost him the equivalent of $80,000 Canadian. Our Prime was less than half that and we had to think hard about ordering. So glad we did now.

    I live atop a high plateau with a steep 8-mile climb up a canyon. After taking ownership of an AWD 2023 Prius XLE a few weeks ago I find that it absolutely loves the steep but high speed curves, both up and down -- no complaints, lots of fun. I'm comparing it to the 2015 Honda Sport that I just traded in for it; the Prius is both faster and better in the corners. Loving this car!

      I've sat in the new Prius both front and back seats and it was fine. I'm 5'-11". I adjusted the front driver's seat for me and then sat in the back and had about 5-6 inches of space between my knees and the back of the front driver's seat. I have a 2nd gen Prius and the back seat of this new Prius felt more spacious side to side. However, I could sense the difference in the lower height of the headliner immediately getting into the car. Which means it feels like you need to lower your head a little more to get in and out of the car compared to my 2004 Prius.

      You can adjust both the seat height and steering wheel column up and down to better view the dash over the wheel. The placement of the dash cluster is meant to be viewed over the top of the wheel and it's set closer to the windshield in lieu of a HUD. Though it might not work well for very short or very tall people.
