Souls exist and there can only be one source. I’m with ya so far, but then he goes on to say that our souls must be one with that source. That doesn’t track. If God is uncreated and omnipotent then why must his creations be a part of him? New Age Pantheists keep insisting that God can only have created us and everything else by being us and everything else. An infinite God can create things out of nothing almost by definition, and if you distribute your own mind and substance then have you really “created” anything? They keep putting fundamental limitations on a being that by his very definition has none. The are implying that we are all deluded fragments of a limited creator trapped within himself playing make believe all alone forever. That seems like a very broken idea of the universe. If God can’t create outside of himself then he isn’t infinite. If he isn’t infinite then he can’t exist in an of himself. If God can’t exist in and of himself then we have a paradox as to what the ultimate motive force in reality is. If we and everything else is a part of God, then all love is narcissism and we are doomed to realize that we are alone and always will be. How can love have any meaning when the only person to love is ourselves? Isn’t that a dark and lonely interpretation of the universe?
