"We are formless beings... when we let go of all concepts, ideas, images, perceptions and thoughts and can settle into this formless being we know it as awareness and only in this there is freedom." Powerful!
Beautiful, Deepak. Thank you. :) This is the way I put it; In truth, Reality itself can have no real ultimate 'edge', in any direction at all, in expanse or duration. This is because the very presence of any conceivable 'absence of Reality' that may intuitively seem to inherently remain boundlessly beyond such an edge would forever ensure, in and of itself, that its own essential condition of 'absolute lack of presence' could NEVER be met. Consequently, this apparent absence is always already encompassed by (and therefore, included 'within') the ever-remaining causeless, boundless presence that is Reality itself, which is, as such, not a 'thing'. In truth, Reality fundamentally equals 'ZERO'. That is to say, actually, there isn't anything. Yet, the very 'ISness' of this 'ZERO' inextricably equals 'ONE'. Being intrinsically infinite and eternal, 'ONE' is forever choicelessly aware of (and is therefore effortlessly experiencing) the eternal infinity that is 'ONE', all the while remaining (such is its fundamentally shapeless nature) absolutely unrequiring of (and thus, completely devoid of) any capacity for the formation of any kind of 'knowledge' of 'itself', or of 'anything else'. This is the stateless state of 'pure awareness'. It simply 'is', without beginning, ending or edge, always already perfect and complete, and absolutely sufficient unto itself. As such, it remains forever in an unfathomable state of unthreatenable bliss. This, alone, is 'What Actually 'IS'', 'Here' and 'Now'. As 'ONE' experiences 'ONE', 'ONE' SEEMS to be 'TWO'. These illusory 'TWO' are 'the seer' and 'the seen'. The seen is fundamentally manifested as the state of 'absolute chaos' (finite, ever-changing and moving form). The seer is fundamentally manifested as the state of 'absolute order' (infinite, ever-changeless and still emptiness). 'From' the eternal interaction between this apparent 'pair', 'Everything' happens, in the ONLY way that it possibly can; 'THIS' way. In other words, the so-called 'big bang' is one in an infinite series of such bangs, and can be described as an instantaneous event of pure chaos (the seen) that happens in the infinite field of changeless and orderly emptiness (the seer). When this occurs, the passive 'gaze' of the field causes the event to coherently 'evaporate', unresistingly, via the orderly path of least resistance until it has completely dissolved, and then another bang happens, and so on forever. The evaporation itself (which can ONLY happen perfectly) is the seemingly causal and sequential 'life' of the universe, along with all of its apparently coherent hierarchical structure and physical 'laws'. Being an evaporation, it doesn't really have any actual 'parts', that are fundamentally different from and/or independently other than each other in the way in which they seem to be. Therefore, every'thing', every'one', and every 'event' EVER is actually an 'apparent part' of the forever fundamentally seamless and effortless unfurling of this one choiceless effect, which is itself comprised ONLY of the one causeless, unencompassed, self-aware presence that is 'ZERO'. Ultimately 'Here' and 'Now', without another, forever and ever; ((((('THIS'-EXPERIENCING-'THIS'))))) What a relief!!! :)
Thanks Deepak chopra I m very happy when you talk something about Buda I m Budhism and like when you teach about the fourth noble true. I love you a kiss from Chile! ! Namaste
This is a great moment in eternity, we have the benefit to learn from Dr. Deepak Chopra everything about ourselves! The wisdom of the Vedanta's great teachings, our consciousness and where we are at this point. I offer my deepest and humble thoughts of appreciation to the universe and Dr. Chopra! Ahum Brahmasmi. His last words in his wonderful scenario, "a lot of words to say something that could come to you, if you sat there and become still" for me the message is, used in your meditation!
Yes Dr Deepak, it is touching. In the present world every one needs to act activated this knowledge.Keep teaching ,the world will not die ever. Amiya Kumar Sahu
So nice to share glittering through eternity with you! Thank you for your huge contribution to the awareness, aliveness, peace, love and freedom of each moment.
I LIKE SO MUCH THIS DEEPAK CHOPRA. ALL THE CHANGES ARE IMPORTANT DURING THE EXPERIENCES OF ALL OF US... THE ENLIGHTMENTE IS TO LIVE ALL TIME IN THE LIGHT! THE LIGHT IS NOT SO EASY TO BE. IN THIS WORD WITH MUCH DARK, BUT GOD SEND US EXPERIENCIES TO SEE AND TO CHOISE, BUT SOMETIMES, WE REFUSED THAT TO BE IN THE LIGHT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE THE DIFFERENT WORD AND TO BE CLEAR AND INPOLLUTE FOR THE OTHERS? IS A DIFFERENT MODE TO LIVE AND IS A MODE TO CALIBRATED THE EMOTIONS AND LOVE FROM A DIFFERENT MODE TO LIVE. WITHOUT LIES. AND THE TRUE IS A BEAUTIFUL VALUE THAT OTHERS MUST TO KNOW TO BE IN A RELATIONS AND BE ABIG FORTUNE TO REALIZE!
Silent Awakenings lives up to the name.. :) You clearly, watching this video compared to your recent, have gotten back in touch with that priceless calmness & clarity after turning down the mind for the week. See you soon
Certainly, who am I ? I just love that we are all connected and feel so grateful for the technology that gives us access to your insight, Deepak, thank you, from New Zealand xxx
Very well put, Doctor. The almost poetic nature of your video, validates its' authenticity to me. No doubt you were centered deeply in peace when bringing forth this message. Thank You for allowing stillness to use your incredible skills of articulation. Love & Blessings to You Doctor. :-)
The secret of Enlightenment?......... Level 1: Cosmic Consciousness ; 24 hour bliss consciousness. level 2: God Consciousness ; the expansion of the Heart in relationship with God. Level 3: Unity Consciousness; All is Oneness. ~ Aham Brahmasmi
He's talking here about the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali "The causes of suffering are five: 1. Ignorance of our real nature. 2. Egoism. 3. Object-referral. 4. Aversion. 5. The fear of death (which is the mistake of the intellect). 1. IGNORANCE OF OUR REAL NATURE is the source of the other four, whether they are dormant, weak, suspended or fully active. Ignorance is the failure to discriminate between the permanent and the impermanent, the pure and the impure, bliss and suffering, the Self and the non-Self. 2. EGOISM, the limiting sense of "I", results from the individual's intellect attributing the power of consciousness to a limited self. 3. ATTACHMENT is object-referral, clinging to pleasure. 4. AVERSION is object-referral, clinging to pain. 5. And THE FEAR OF DEATH is a spontaneous feeling deeply rooted in us as a result of the mistake of the intellect."
Death is just another transition. Also, I keep meditating on the fact that all human kind is apart of a whole that is the human Consciousness. We're ( humans ) are kind of like the "Q" of Star Trek.
This is deep and meaningful if you are operating in one plane, but MEANINGLESS BULL if you are operating at another plane. Here's what I mean: if you are economically relatively secure (can never be, but relatively speaking) -- i.e., you have a job that pays your bills and lets you save a bit of money, you have somewhat of a safety net, you have hope that things will get better, then this makes perfect sense. If you are hounded by how to pay your bills, are constantly worrying about what would happen to your loved ones if something bad happens, then what Dr. Chopra offers is nonsense.
I don't know if you are familiar with the Pyramid of Maslow, the Pyramid of Needs: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow's_hierarchy_of_needs Deepak has reached the highest level of this Pyramid and is only capable of conveying his message from there. It is not for nothing he is often called: the Guru of the rich. Many people are still on the lower levels of the Pyramid, some travel up and down, some have reached the top level........
Curious that a renowned Huichol Indian "marakame" or shaman from the state of Jalisco, Mexico, once told me that "Life is like a bird, it flies away!" I am of the understanding that reality is that which never changes. My existential question to Deepak as an ongoing cancer patient who endured 40 days of excruciating pain (and to this day weeps just to think about it!) still wonders what is the meaning, if any, of pain? If pain is not "real", then what is it?
I am so sorry that you have pain, Donald. I am not a guru like Deepak. I can only say that pain is simply what it is. It does not have meaning in itself. I don't think anything has any meaning really, except that which you decide to give it. If you can practice continuously letting go of your attachment to your pain (a strange thing to say, I know) and let it go over and over and over again, you will find meaning in the practice. I wish you well, and hope that you find peace.
Dorothy Potter Snyder Thank U Dorothy -not strange at all, I have practiced detachment w/ success. If pain is meaningless, as I believe it is, & if it doesn't "exist" on the plane of Reality, why do we still experience it?
Donald Schimizzi I am not sure what Reality with a big R is. My reality is what I experience through my senses, and that includes pain. Scientists will tell you that you suffer pain because you have a nervous system that rejects that which offends it. That is pretty real and that's also why pain can be ameliorated with carefully designed drugs. There is nothing, however, that does not change, everything changes. People change, weather changes, forests change, even rocks are slowly recycled by the Earth. Even pain changes. My best wishes to you.
@theheartphone - yup, was thinking of Maslow as I was writing the comment. But the thing is that it seems to me that wisdom that doesn't travel up and down the pyramid isn't true wisdom. Good wisdom: tell your loved ones that you love them whenever you can; make the central goal of your life helping people whenever you can. Fake wisdom: the universe is so vast and we are so small - so why worry and sweat the little things. That "advice" is nearly useless.
Most of time I find youtube's English translation is not correct. May be they are using translteration or phonetic software or so. Hence, I could not follow what Deepak says, and the result is I could not complete even a few words. However, I know he is talking about enlightenment which he speaks easily or some what mastering the subject with his material knowledge. Should I say that this world we are living in is in duality! If you want to speak about enlightenment you have to go beyond this world and if you succeed you may enlighten but could not speak about it!
We can’t know the power of mind it’s infinite absolute eternal no dimension no quality no quantity no cause and effect no time and space, what we know as mind is it’s content which is imagination or memory mind is that nothing which is everything and whole the existence is it’s imagination.
Now you really confused the crap out of me! I am my thoughts and feelings and emotions at any point in time. I am life in motion. Electrons here and there. I live in a flesh prison trapped in a confusing world of spirits that constantly are defining there existence from there exspiriences of the past. Nothing is real yet everthing is real. I am something i am living in a space and time. Confused and searching for reality.
Thank you for explaining to us your own journey in life. We can either go along with it or come to our own personal conclusions about the secret of enlightenment. Thanks to the Internet the journey of each ONE of us is just that, a journey into ones own personal experiences and the learning from it that goes on and on until there is nothing to learn anymore.........
truth hidden behind a veil and an unclear voice from intuition has manifested into a horrible outcome fault of my actions and not knowing the facts. I have a son who has been kept secret from me for 9 years and still to this day. I have had a good idea for the past 8 years, told he was not so I had to accept that but I also had to assume he was mine. I have lots of evidence, and pictures really show a mirror image of me when I was the same age. Anyhow, I suffer for being ostracized from what I see as my family, his mother and my son. Yes I can love him, yes we are all one but I wish to be able to directly share love. He has no idea of my existance. This I long for this connection, my intuition has always been clear about a piece of my soul missing/taken. I have surrendered all actions that I can use as a weapon and I have made it clear and gave her all power to choose her own destiny as I see this as the only way I can express my love. Astrology has been inspiring and hopeful but still hasn't produced any results. My true self, my power as I see it is to raise confidence and to raise the unconsciousness to consciousness. Am I missing something? Why do I still suffer?
The title suggests you might have answers to the question but what you gave us are platitudes and trite words of Hindu/Buddhist wisdom. Many of us can intellectually grasp the ideas informing your views but they are not _secrets_ to enlightenment and hardly mollifies the pains of everyday life no matter how trivial you say and we know they are in the light of eternity. So the trouble I see here is not that you are wrong but that the words seem to drop from your lips like stale bread and last year's newspaper.
Hi Deepak, it's nice to see that you are spreading awareness but you are very shallow. You don't have any real knowing. Whatever you learnt from vedanta/other Hindu resources, you speak about that. Now it's time to move on so please come out from your state of consciousness and move ahead. Love n peace

THE EGO reins in all five senses, and hates when you "go out on your own" and perceive a world without without them.
Not 2B esoteric but I'm sure U've heard of "the 3rd eye"? What U witness as "real" outside yourself is an #illusion. Reality is #within.

+Peggy Berge It seems to me that they are more at peace with everything than most people. It's my best guess.

There secret of enlightenment is there is no such thing as enlightenment. The search is a cause of suffering.
absolutely right sir, very deep meaning
For a person who calls himself enlightened, he sure spends a lot of time quoting other people to get his point across.
