So encouraging thank you I am just trying to get to lunch without snacking love listening to you your food prep videos were making me hungry in early recovery sure it’s obvious. My Aunt who is abusive verbally and a staunch Political supporter opposite of who I support and would tell me to stop watching the news that every news station is lies and Its just bringing me fear and depression. So to hear you telling people to not watch the news is triggering. It wasn’t making me depressed. It wasn’t making me fearful but I noticed that one political party would use that wording and also say we’re the hateful political party when I’m my case and most who believed the way I do It wasn’t true for them either. The opposite political party from what I am were the ones spewing hate on social media. So OA does say not to bring politics into it. Not everyone who watches the news gets depressed or fearful if it. I think it’s very important to continued to be informed with this pandemic. Thank God I was more aware of what was going on from mid January that I started protecting myself then. I think it’s very important people stay informed. Watch the news, read, inform yourself about your political parties. I appreciate most of your message but unless the news brings depression or anxiety I think it’s very important people stay apprised of what’s going on around them and in the works. Example. Just recently I saw a post, today actually on a FB group for the city I belong to. The person asked why there’s so much smoke. 🤦♀️ We need to be aware of our surroundings.
Point taken Femmigirlz! It is best not to get into politics! I haven't watched the news in many years as it has helped my mental health. I trust that I will hear what I need to know. That's just my experience! I can't say what's best for anyone else! I am a bit of a political junkie, I have to be careful what I follow, I prefer to watch the debates, etc on C-span as I don't care to hear anyone else's opinion, I make up my own mind!
